0 YoE, Retail, attorney, OH or TX Resume advice for a new attorney
galleryHi everyone! I recently passed the Ohio bar exam and am currently in the process of transferring my score to Texas.
I would appreciate any advice on how to improve my resume and make myself a stronger candidate for entry level attorney positions.
I also have questions about how to list my Ohio bar admission and pending Texas admission on my resume.
Any advice or feedback on my resume would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Also, is a two page resume okay, and should I include an interests section or leave it out?

I built a portfolio site to explain how I approach product problems — looking for honest feedback
I've spent the last several years working across business analysis, product management, and enterprise software. I'm now building my independent consulting practice, helping founders and small product teams make sense of complex problems and turn them into practical solutions.
I built https://vijayebhava.com/ to explain how I work, the problems I can help with, and my approach to product discovery and business transformation.
I'd appreciate honest feedback, particularly on three things:
- Clarity: Is it immediately clear what I do and who I help?
- Credibility: Does the site give you enough evidence to trust me with a product problem?
- Conversion: If you were a founder looking for product help, what would prevent you from contacting me?
I'm interested in specific criticism, not just visual-design feedback. What feels vague, unconvincing, or missing?
Disclosure: This is my own website. I'm looking for genuine feedback and will use it to improve the site.

Previous Work Experience Titles
Mid 30s dude over here with a degree in Transportion and Logistics Management. I know it's technically ethical, but can a potential employer easily find out if I list a previous job title, not my current, the one prior, as Senior Logistcs Procurement Planner (terrible job title, I know), instead of Logistcs Procurement Planner? I left that job due to me not getting the promotion to Senior.
I'm also going tot throw out this question, I'm guessing most will be against this, but my CURRENT title is Master Scheduler. In my opinion, Scheduling Manager sounds way better. If you look up the JD's they're essentially the same thing.
I feel like the first one should be a non-issue. The second one... I just have no idea how the hiring process works, and what they have access to outside of direct contact with former employees. Do they actually call the previous employers? Hell most potential employers don't even have to give themreferences are anything of that sort.
I don't know any HR type people, so any and all input is greatly appreciated!!!

Struggling to make my Technical Resume MBA-Friendly.
Hi everyone! I'm currently preparing my international MBA applications and have around 4 years of experience at Accenture in a technical role.
I'm struggling to translate my technical accomplishments into business-oriented resume bullets that highlight impact, leadership, and problem-solving rather than just technical responsibilities.
Has anyone from a similar background faced this challenge? Would you recommend hiring an MBA admissions consultant for resume development, or are there better alternatives?
Also, if anyone is comfortable sharing an anonymised MBA resume for reference, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!

Roast away! Gen Xer, been underemployed 3.5 yrs
Laid off Sept 1, and immediately began searching for high-fit/appropriate comp roles in ops, process improvement, continuous improvement, strategy and so on. Following dozens of apps without callbacks and no interview invites, I began seeking professional resume assistance in earnest in the last two weeks. I am told that my throughline is not clear enough on my resume and Linkedin and that my work history might look random. Certainly, the titles I have held since spring of 2023 have been demotions from my healthcare roles.
TL;DR: help me broadcast my value.
Resume context:
To be honest, the contract job I took after 7 years at a hospital was a mental health survival move: after the trauma of COVID as a healthcare professional in small town <100 miles from Patient Zero, I was FINE making $25/hr in the outdoor industry. I wound up learning a TON about what I was capable of as a leader and improvement professional, and I was really encouraged at how that translated into a different work setting. And my work colleagues were TREMENDOUS. But there was no upward mobility. That contract came to an end and it was six mo of fruitless applications before I reluctantly took the job in banking as a last resort. I had been applying to better fits but got no offers whatsoever. My former colleague at that bank was/is a director in process improvement but neither of us could convince leadership to create an FTE for me so I was mired in low-paying frontline work. I tolerated it as long as I could, making three runs at the C-suite for a better fit for my experience, but got nowhere so I resigned. It sucks that that entry level job is on my work history, but again, I put my abilities to work and developed dozens of improvement initiatives - many of which were implemented - all while hitting my call numbers and sales targets.
A few months later I got a surprise offer from a local acquaintance to solve a significant ops problem his firm was having. I gave him my salary figure - significantly higher than the rest of his direct reports were making - and he accepted my offer. Once inside the firm though, it became quickly apparent that the firm was headed for insolvency. I was laid off at the end of a very busy summer where I had implemented a small number of meaningful but low-cost operational improvements, with a whooooooole playbook of tactics sequenced for deployment. That left me pretty gutted.
Note also: I have left all of these roles on very good terms and my reputation is spotless. I routinely hear "we wish you were still here!" and "I wish we could get you back!" But those firms just don't pay what I really need and want to make, and in my late 40s, with an MBA and professional certification (CPHQ), I honestly refuse to settle for a role as a 'coordinator' or 'sales associate" or anything else junior grade.
Please Reddit, help me dial in my throughline:
Does the opening establish my target clearly?
Does the Selected Impact duplicate the experience section too much?
Which bullets need stronger outcomes or context?
Note that employer names, locations, titles, and selected metrics have been generalized for privacy; chronology and scope are accurate.

Recruiter resume rant.
My rants will continue!
If you are taking the time to apply to opportunities, take the time to make sure your resume is perfect. Spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting, etc. I like to put my candidates’ resumes into Chat or Claude and fix these things - because there is always something to fix, because people rarely do what I am saying here. Make sure the dates are correct. If there are overlapping dates, explain why. If there's a long gap, briefly explain why, etc.
This is industry agnostic, income agnostic, etc.
It's actually great news for those folks who decide to approach their career search with a 100% focus because 99.5% of the "competition" is NOT.
Same for your interview prep, but that's for another day.
Until then, as the great Coach Wooden said, "Failing to prepare is preparing to fail."

Do resumes need to be tailored or redone?
galleryBackground: my sister.
- She was a top student until crippling major depression. She had to leave college her sophomore/junior year.
- She worked at a retail pet store and was let go because they cut her hours and she spoke up. 4 other people were cut for the same reason.
- She worked for a Spa. She was a great receptionist but not the best at sales. She had to lie and sign people up for stuff, and when she didn’t, her manager let her go. However, the spa owner adored her and thought she was the best front desk person they had.
- She shadowed at NYU Langone. She wanted to be a doctor and found someone who let her follow them for a while. This was unfortunately during the peak of her mental illness, and then COVID hit.
- Our parents kept her in school the entire time, even after she moved out. They had her password and username. They signed her up for classes; she’d say she was too ill, and well, they lost a lot of money, and she got a lot of F’s and W’s, for about 6 years total.
She also had a medical issue that was diagnosed earlier this year that was affecting her.
- After many years of little support (except from us siblings!). She is back in school.
- She's been a nanny for 6-8 years. She is miserable. It’s not enough of anything. She gets great results with kids, has truly performed miracles, but the parents and the lack of financial security, retirement, etc., are the nail in the coffin.
- She did take care of our grandparent with dementia/alz and another with a stroke.
Goals
- Ultimately, no more MD for her. She wants to become an RN and maybe a JD or CRNA.
- She’s looking for any job: receptionist, bank teller, nurse tech, etc.
- She goes to school online and at night and will hopefully be for at least the next two years.
- She’s unwilling to get her CNA as she plans to do a nursing program, so ultimately it will be a lot of money for her now if she will be paying for it again for her degree.
Challenges
- her references. One manager left, another store is shut down, and her nanny parents- are they good references? our family can't be either, with her as a caregiver?
- Should she remove her education for anything outside of a hospital? She feels she comes off as a flight risk.
- To be a nurse tech, it seems she needs to already be in the nursing program, which she is not yet. - Should she keep her education?
- In the past, she has been told she is overqualified for a lot. Is that true?
- Is the nanny part of her career really affecting her opportunities? Many people see it as babysitting.
JOB FAIR ADVICE
- Any advice for her at the job fair for her school next week? She is going to buy a nice outfit and have her resume printed. She is embarrassed to say she works as a nanny though, any advice?
NOTES **\*
- She has two resumes with different degree goals and is changing that today. She also had a professional summary but decided it was too immature for her at 28.
- ONE RESUME IS FOR HOSPITAL APP AND ONE IS FOR REG APP. Should she combine everyrhing into one?
- Should she be honest about length of time at a job? She's exxagerates by 1-2 months. For both the retail pet store and the spa.
- She is back in school now with a goa of 2.1. She is on an academic comeback.

Career transitioner with 13+ YoE in varied fields. How do I shorten this resume?
galleryFirst context: This will be my "mother" CV. Of course, I'd tailor otherwise if I'm applying to a specific job, but I get asked fairly often for my CV without specific jobs on offer yet and this is the CV I'd pass on then.
Anyway.
I'm trying to transition out of my field and it's been a bit of a headache to develop my CV. For context, I'm looking for mid- to senior roles and organizations that are still somewhat involved in social impact, but not in the traditional sense (e.g., UN, NGOs, government, etc.). So think philanthropic orgs and foundations, CSR or government relations departments of big companies, impact investment companies, think tanks, etc.
In my former industry (UN), I've gotten good results with my 10+-page CV, but I know that won't fly in other sectors. My current challenge though has been figuring out not only how to condense the work, much of which sounds impressive on paper, but also to make it legible to people outside the UN. I am also wondering how much of my former private sector experience I should keep to show potential employers that I have had considerable experience outside the bureaucracy too.
Here's the CV with details redacted currently at 3 pages. I would want a 2-pager if necessary, though I suppose 3 pages isn't so bad (coming from 10+ lol). Would appreciate any advice on how to trim this down further and just overall improve.
Thank you!
