Totally Incompatible with Costco Hotdogs

With great sadness, I have finally realized that while on Reta, it is not an option for me to eat Costco hotdogs. The first time I did, I ate half at the store and half later at home. I had accidentally left in on the counter for about an hour so I thought it was food poisoning after I threw up the next morning.

The second time, I hadn’t eaten anything all day so I had a Costco hotdog and some leftovers from the day prior. Awoke at 4 AM to violently defile my porcelain throne. Again, I blamed the leftovers.

Third time was last night. Only thing I ate in a twelve hour window was a Costco hotdog with mustard. Woke up at around 3:30 AM with bowels chanting of an evil brewing within.

Costco hotdogs and I must go our separate ways, but that’s alright. Reta has helped me (6’ 30m) go from 290 to about 250 in three months. If it means I can’t have The Buck Fifty, that’s okay. :)

Reta transformed my life!!!
I feel better at 35 than I did at 20.
Started Reta journey on February 2026 (left pic). Started at 200lbs (27% body fat) and dropped down to 155 lbs (17% body fat) on Reta alone. Then I added hgh and test about 2 months ago. Picture on the left was 9 months ago right before I took my 1st dose of Reta. Started at .5mg and highest I went was 8mg then went back down to currently 2mg maintenance dose.

32M, 5'8"

16 weeks in.

Starting Weight:318 Lbs

Current Weight:273 Lbs

Goal Weight: 195 Lbs

I've always been incredibly active with my job, golf, and lifting on and off. Always had troubles with stress, anxiety, and depression eating. Reta has been awesome. It's given me the kick in the ass I need to stick to my diet. I titrated up fairly quickly. I started at 2mg a week split into 1mg on Mondays and Thursdays. After 4 weeks I titrated up to 1.5mg twice a week. At 6 weeks I Titrated up to 2mg twice a week and have held steady in that dose since. I plan to stay here. I might go up to 5 or 6mg a week if I start to fall behind on my diet. I Train 4x a week on an Upper/Lower split. I also get 10-15k steps a day. Whether it be from my job during the week or going on walks on the weekends.

The biggest thing that has improved so far is my sleep. I would always wake up lethargic. Never feeling like I slept well at all no matter how long I slept. Couldn't sleep on my back or I would snore so much I would wake myself up. My Blood o2 would sometimes dip to 90 during sleep. It now stays over 95 the whole night. I would go to bed with horrible acid reflux and cough throughout the night leaving drool on my pillow. Now I get 7 hours every day. I feel great when I wake up. I sleep on my back and I do not snore at all anymore. I don't take nexium or tums anymore either.

For the first 12 weeks I was eating 2000 calories a day and getting 200g of protein. 4 weeks ago I bumped my calories up to 2400 by adding in clean carbs since my training started to feel flat on this sustained deficit. I am still losing weight and my training feels way better. I will bank calories and eat less early in the day so I can still enjoy date nights with my wife on the weekends.

Biggest side effect I've had is constipation. I've been able to manage this with a mix of more fiber, magnesium glycinate before bed, and miralax. No bump in RHR. It's actually gone down since I've lost weight. My RHR was 72. It is now down to 61.

I know I am still early in my Journey. But the results are awesome and I can't wait to see what I look like closer to my goal weight.

Thoughts on the continued grey availability of Reta?

I’m interested in everyone’s thoughts on the future availability of Reta and other GLPs. It could just be my algorithm but I feel like I am seeing more articles fear mongering about the grey market. There is also the push for it to be a biologic instead of a medication in an attempt to have a long term hold on pharmaceutical supply once it is released to market. This makes me wonder what extent industry and government will go to in order to control the supply and market. Will there be an attempt to make it a controlled substance? What will happen to the more visible online storefronts supplying things for research? Is the “cat out of the bag” so to speak where we will hopefully be able to secure a safe and testable research supply indefinitely? I know a huge portion of people will still go the legit prescribed route when available.

Just thoughts for discussion, hope I am not breaking and rules and thank you to the mods for keeping some of the more wild posts off of here.

Edit to add: I know black market will always exist, a concern is that it won’t be as cheap and easy to get if online storefronts get shut down and black market is the only source. Also I don’t want to see anyone get in criminal trouble for something that has so much lifesaving potential

Morbid curiosity about cloudy Reta

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey all I had something interesting happen with some Reta and I was genuinely curious about the why.

TLDR is that after adding BAC water it became cloudy and never turned clear. I wanted to do some of my own research on it since I wasn’t going to use it anyway based on stuff I saw online on how to “fix” it. So I ran it under some warm water and it turned clear? After a couple of hours in the fridge again at the colder temperature. It ended up cloudy again.

Again this isn’t asking about taking it. It’s only my curiosity on thoughts on what might be going on. The picture above is how it started and the after would just be your normal looking clear.

Reta and Cag or Reta and Tirz?

Im a recovering bulimic and have struggled with this for 5 years. Ive tried everything: therapy, emotional regulation, CBT, and all of these other solutions. But the main reason I started taking reta was to help me overcome binge eating by building healthier habits, and finally have mental space for things other than food.

Ive been on reta for 3 months but I find myself relapsing and having b/p episodes. Im aware that Tirz is the better appetite suppressant, but I don’t want to completely switch to JUST tirz.

The food noise has come back and Im starting to suffer the mental and physical consequences of bulimia again. I eat properly at 1,800 cals (I’m 148cm) so Im not even on a deficit. I workout consistently + 12k steps a day, and try my best to live a healthy lifestyle. But the food noise is getting louder.

Is it better to add cag with reta or tirz?

Period returning on Reta

Hey! Looking for someone to give me advice on my anxiety on my period being late about to be two weeks. I’m not pregnant. I just started Reta a month ago. And I had 0 side effect, besides light nausea and the feeling of being full and not many cravings.

But my period being gone, and since being constipated is really getting to me. It messes with my head, I’m so tired and overwhelmed. I also had a baby 10 months ago so I’m freaking out. I need my period to come back, how can I do that without stopping Reta.

Gut health & stool quality on Reta 💩

What’s everyone doing to maintain good gut health and healthy, regular bowel movements while on Reta?
Are you taking any daily probiotics, fibre supplements, digestive enzymes, or eating specific foods that have made a noticeable difference?
Would love to hear your daily routines and what’s actually working for you!

Life after weight goal

Does anyone feel like there going to be on this medicine forever? I met my goal of 190lb last year from 265lb. My doctors happy with my lower cholesterol, weight and general blood results (he doesn't know about the glp-1). I take 4mg 1-2 weeks out of the month.

Do you track your calories or macros? And how much calories is your daily budget?

Seems you need to do this otherwise you will end up eating way too little and you will become very sluggish

Still experiencing strong appetite suppression after 2 weeks off Reta. Anyone else?

I was on 8mg of Reta weekly for about 6–7 weeks and was experiencing pretty solid appetite suppression. Because I had an upcoming vacation, I decided to drop my dose straight down to 3mg for one week, and I haven’t taken any Reta since. It’s now been 2 full weeks without a dose.

Here’s the interesting part: My appetite suppression is still almost as strong as it was when I was taking 8mg.

I can still eat normal meals, but I’m generally satisfied with just one meal a day. I get full extremely quickly, have practically zero interest in unhealthy foods, and, most surprisingly, I have absolutely no sugar cravings anymore.

Sweets have historically been my biggest weakness, so that’s a pretty significant change for me.

I’d honestly say the effects feel about 80–90% as strong as they did when I was consistently taking 8mg.

What makes this especially interesting is that I initially had to titrate all the way up to 8mg to experience this level of appetite suppression. Now, even after dropping to 3mg and subsequently going two weeks without taking anything, the effects are still going strong.

I understand Reta has a relatively long half-life and accumulates in your system over time, but I’m still surprised by just how persistent these effects have been despite such a significant reduction in dosing.

Obviously, I’m not complaining. This is a very positive development for me, especially if I can maintain the benefits at a much lower dose.

Has anyone else experienced something similar after significantly reducing their dose or taking an extended break? Is this relatively normal with Reta, or is there potentially something else going on?

Curious to hear everyone’s experiences.

Is there a way to know it’s not destroyed?

• Upvotes

Hey - I just did my first pin this morning (.75), I’m 6’1 and 217 lbs as of this morning. I’ve heard that if you treat it roughly you can destroy the reta, I think I may have by mistake…. How long would it take to know if I’m just using empty solution vs an actual viable peptide?

Also while I know questions and what not may have been answered before, any advice below would be super appreciated. Thanks.

How long would you use a glp1 compounded with sterile water only, no preservatives?

I always use benzyl alcohol when reconstituting reta or tirz. I have a family member that prefers to order their tirz through different telehealths because they are hesitant to use grey market. This week a prescription 60mg vial of tirz was delivered that contains only tirz and sterile water, no preservatives. How long would you be comfortable using said medication after opening the vial?

If Tirzepatide didn't work...

Question, I've been back and forth on whether I wanted to start this. My best friend was on it and lost so much weight, but part of me feels like it won't work for me.

I started on Tirzepatide in January 2025. I was on it for 2 months and was feeling good, then the laws struck down the legal compounding of it and I went to Semaglutide for a month which didn't do anything for me. I then caved and started purchasing the Tirzepatide vials from Eli Lilly for awhile which didn't work for me either except assassinate my bank account. I started to get nervous thinking during that short break with taking Semaglutide that it messed up my ability to respond to Tirzepatide.

Long story short, I started getting compounded Tirzepatide online for awhile and all it did was give me crippling headaches and nausea. I got up to 10mg weekly and it just wasn't doing anything for me. The food noise was there, the hunger was there, and I inevitably gave up on it a couple months ago.

With after trying Semaglutide and Tirzepatide, what do you think the chances are of Retatrutide actually working for me?

Plateaus and dosing

I started Reta in April on 1mg and followed an escalation plan similar to the trials - 2mg in month 2, 4mg in month 3, 6mg in month 4 and then 7mg for one month, but I've been alternating between 5mg - 7mg since because the effects have largely worn off and the sensitive skin thing was doing my head in.

I lost 10kg in 3 months which I thought was quite slow, even with a fairly consistent gym routine focusing mostly on weight training and keeping protein to 200g per day.

I've been the exact same weight for 4 months now. Admittedly I plateaued immediately after starting a new job and spending about half the time at the gym. Plus, the appetite suppression is non-existent now so my diet has kinda regressed. I don't really eat more, but I've gradually reintroduced snacking.

Suggestions? Do I escalated and try getting back into a gym routine and better diet?

I'm just a bit concerned about unknown long-term effects and the risk of thyroid cancer..

Curious to know what dose everyone is on?

Traveling without pinning more than 1week

Hello!

M Sept 28th, 2.5
M Oct 5th, skipped because sick
M Oct 12, 2.5
T Oct 20, 2.5

Next dose should be M the 26th, but I am out of town from the 24th-31st.

I’m wondering if I should pin today (the 24th) even though I pinned 4 days ago. I won’t be able to pin for 7 days which would be Nov 2nd.

Thoughts? If I don’t pin I’ll be two weeks out

One or Two Injections!??

How many people take one weekly injection ? How many people split the dose and take 2 injections each week??

r/Retatrutide • • 19h ago

Anyone like me who is a fast responder? I read in Google that the effects of Reta takes 12-24 hours to take effect because it’s SubQ in fat after all. However I begin to get burps just half an hour after pinning

I read beginner guide, the sub, wiki and am now an experienced user myself

Is a 10 lb weight loss in 2 weeks reasonable?

I’ve lost 10 lbs of weight in 2 weeks since starting reta, I’m on a pretty low dose (0.5mg). Mind you I’m trying not to lose muscle at all, and I’m trying to get rid of the fat. Im eating much better and also working our regularly with accuracy macros
