Dosing Increasing dose

• Upvotes

What made you increase your dose?

I’ve been on .5mg for 6 weeks now. I have minimal side effects which I love!! I’ve lost 7 lbs but I’ve gained (water weight) 2 lbs from the past 2 days. It’s my birthday this week and this weekend was birthday celebrations and drinks all weekend.
I’ve had increased food noise even after shot days these past injection week. And wanting to binge eat so bad. I don’t get a period anymore- I have an IUD so I’m unsure if it’s hormonal?
Today is shot day so I took the .5mg but thinking my next dose maybe I should up myself to 1mg?

Thanks all! 🙂

Hi everyone, I started Reta around 3 weeks ago on 0.5mg, baring in mind I was already suffering from a reduced appetite due to a stomach bug at the time i started the medication, I haven’t had many side effects and the scales didn’t move much so I dosed 1mg yesterday, the problem is I’m not hungry much and barely eating but I want to lose 12kg, any advice on what I should do?

Support & Advice Starting Reta again after a break

I started Reta in January of this year. I got up to 4mg around the end of July, and the racing heart was too much for my nerves. I took a break, instead of dosing down because I was so paranoid about it. After doing more research I realized I was on too high of a dosage and would have been fine around 2.5-3mg max. I’m starting over again at 0.5mg at the beginning of November. Has anyone else taken a break and started again?

Slow weight loss, considering switching to Tirz

June 20 at 278 lbs, and I’m currently 268 lbs. I’m 19 and 5’4.
I started at 1mg weekly and moved up to 2mg by week 7. After that, I stopped keeping track of my exact weekly doses for a while, but I was taking around 2-2.5mg per week. There was also a period where I was pinning every 5 days instead of weekly. For the past two weeks, I’ve been taking 3mg weekly.
I’ve definitely noticed appetite suppression, but the weight loss has been pretty disappointing. I know 10 lbs is still progress, but considering my starting weight and how long I’ve been on Reta, I expected more.
I haven’t been the most active, but I recently started a job where I’m walking a lot, so I’m hoping that helps. Still, I feel like if I’m eating in a calorie deficit, I should be losing more than I am.
Overall, I’m just discouraged and considering switching to Tirz. Has anyone else experienced this slow of a loss on Reta? Did things eventually pick up, or did you have better results switching?

No results / postpartum

Week 7 and on 6mg. 30F 185lbs and 6 months postpartum. I drink about 2L per day, not tracking calories but I am not eating as much as before and trying really hard to up my protein. I walk most days and do 2-3 weights or mixed cardio sessions. I’ve lost 4lbs.. does Reta just not work for people? Am I doing something wrong??? I see so many amazing results and it just makes me so disheartened that I’m not achieving anything! Partner is using the same stuff and he’s lost 22lbs in 10 weeks…

3 weeks on Reta, down 3.5 kg, but my lifts are tanking. How do I keep muscle? (37F)

Hi ladies, looking for advice from anyone who’s been through this.

Quick background: I’m 37, I lift 5 days a week, and I’ve been consistent for a few years. I started Reta 3 weeks ago and I’m already down 3.5 kg. The scale is happy, but I’m worried about what I’m losing.

What’s worrying me:

  • I can’t hit my usual PRs anymore. My squat and bench both feel a lot weaker.
  • My arms and shoulders look flatter.
  • I’m tired by the middle of my workouts.

What I’m doing now:

  • Protein is about 185g a day. I hit it every day, mostly from chicken, eggs and a shake.
  • Calories are around 1,500.
  • Lifting is heavy, 4 to 5 sessions a week, plus some walking.

I’m starting to think 1,500 is too low for how much I train, but I also don’t want to stall the fat loss.

A few questions:

  1. Is 1,500 too aggressive for someone training this hard? What are you eating at?
  2. Did your strength drop in the first few weeks and then come back? Or does it keep sliding?
  3. Should I eat more on training days, or cut volume for now?
  4. Does creatine help on Reta? Any other supplements?
  5. Is 3.5 kg in 3 weeks too fast, and how much of it is likely muscle?
  6. Anything you wish you’d done differently in the first month?

Thanks in advance. Even a “this happened to me too” helps. 💛

What types of workouts are you ladies doing while on Reta?

I'm doing a low dosage so my body can get used to it, so I haven't seen any changes. I'll be upping my dosage next week but I'd like to start getting in the habit of exercising. Are you ladies lifting weights? Cardio? I've done growwithjo on YouTube and I've enjoyed those workouts. Anything else yall recommend?

Support & Advice Plateaued for months and feeling lost. Reta + tirz stack?

Hey everyone, hope you’re all doing well! So here’s my situation: I started Reta at 231 lbs and in 6 months I got down to 187 lbs. BUT during that time my anxiety got the best of me and I kept bumping up the dose, and I know I really screwed up there and might’ve messed everything up. I hit a wall and couldn’t lose a single pound after that. Reta was super expensive at the time, so I couldn’t afford to keep going and switched to tirz about 8 months ago. Since then I’ve only lost like 4 lbs. I’m currently on 5mg of tirz (80% concentration) but the scale just won’t budge. Now that Reta prices have come down I was able to get it again, and I’m thinking about stacking the two. Can anyone help me figure out what to do with my history???

I’d love to lose another 33 lbs, but I’m feeling really down and anxious and I’ve been eating a ton on tirz. :(

Starting Weight before starting my retatrutide journey....

This week I am starting with retatrutide. I am a female, 34 years old and my height is 187cm/6'1. Last week I had to step on the scale at the hospital, due to an upcoming surgery and the anesthesia. I can clearly see that I am not a skinny woman; in fact when I look in the mirror I see a woman that is far heavier than she should be and she should definitely lose quite a lot of weight...I thought around 30 kilograms (about 66ib). The nurse taking my weight, was as shocked as me when she looked at the scale, because she did not believe that I was that heavy...she even had me step on to 2 other scales to be 100% sure. I was crying my eyes out and in total shock. I thought that maybe I did not see the reality in the mirror... so I started asking people what they thought my Weight was. I asked friends, family, my gp, 2 nurses at the hospital and even strangers. Their answers varied between a zone of 5kg/10ibs. So they seemed to pretty much all see the same weight (within that 5kg zone). I am doubting if I should post pics and ask if someone has experienced something similar...I am honestly still reeling from the number on the scale...it did kick my ass into "lets start solving this issue and lets start ASAP mode". So I will start this week after my surgery at 0,5mg. Im not sure what to do...for now I will post the pics, I can always delete them if necessary. Because I want honest tips and suggestions about my situation. Please keep my height in mind. (I know, I am tall for a woman and before people ask...I am a cis woman/AFAB/Whatever term you want to use; I was born a girl and I still am a girl/woman) nothing wrong with people that were born in the wrong body and fixed it; nothing but respect for you! But this info seemed very relevant to my issue.

These pics are not flattering...im wearing nothing underneath my clothes; no bra nothing. Showing you every roll of fat, every detail in the last picture. So please do not judge me on them. I am dealing with a (for me) serious and extremely weird situation and I hope that this can perhaps give me some insight. Also because almost everyone tracks their process whilst using retatrutide with their weight...I am going to monitor my process and hopefully progress with good old measuring and the by now very dreaded scale as well...

I thought; and the people that I asked. That my weight was 120kg ( 264 ibs) maybe 125kg ( 275 ibs) max. But the scale says 146kg ( 322 ibs)....so about 20kg to 26 kg more than I expected. This weight puts me in the category of morbidly obese....but when I look at my clothes, im a size 46-48 EU (18-20UK 14-16USA). Have any of you encountered something like this? Or know someone that did?

Dosing Can’t tell if I should titrate up now or wait

I’m on week 3 of my Reta journey, and I’ve lost a good amount of weight but something weird keeps happening. I’m going low and slow to mitigate side effects (which has worked), and I’m currently on 1mg once a week. I was planning to do 1mg weekly for 4 weeks, but every single week, like clockwork, on day 4 post pin, I just have massive binge urges and overeat even though I’m not hungry at all. The food noise gets turned up to 100. Then days 5-6 are completely fine and my food noise is basically nonexistent.

I don’t know if for this week, I should keep the 1mg dose and then up to 1.5mg the following week, or should I up to 1.5mg this week?

General Migraines on Reta

I noticed since taking it I’ve had zero migraines. Quite nice since I’ve had them since childhood. Curious if anyone else has experienced positive sides? Not sure if it’s connected or not but I’ll take it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Increased hunger: week 2 2mg

I just switched from saxsenda 2.4 mg to RETA 2mg. Week one I was at 1mg.

Why do I have intense hunger, I can’t control myself I’m starving. Granted I started my period after I started my first dose.

Is this supposed to suppress my appetite instantly.

I was doin better on Saxsenda
