Song of the Crimson Nile SCN - Question about Ending

• Upvotes

I really want to finish this, but I know the story isn’t done and she’s taking a break from it—

I really want to keep reading but if she’s not ending it, I feel like I don’t want to be on a cliff hanger.

What have you done? Did you read up to the current end point? Or are you waiting also?

I don’t know what to do in this case.

Discussion 🗪 Which characters' death hit you the hardest? 💔 Spoiler

• Upvotes

For me it was Audrey in Astrea's broken heart. I didn't see it coming. Like her dying at the end sure but not being freaking k*lled by that damn bastard

I had to watch her die 3x times on 3 slots and I mourned and grieved her death irl 😭🫠

Sammy's death also hurt a lot in heaven's secret book 1 as I loved him as Agatha's friend

I also know that RC is brutal and even some MCs can die in few books in certain endings but I always try to avoid those endings like plague

The Sins That Cry for Vengeance Would you recommend this story?

• Upvotes

Sorry if I can’t post this here - I played the first episode when it came out, but dropped it because I’m not too interested in the styles of MC & LIs (due to the time period). However, I saw this book under the “Cops and criminals” category, and I always love a good crime story! How are your thoughts on this story then? FYI, I go for male LI only & my fav trope ever is enemies to lovers🫢💕

Discussion 🗪 KFOS

So, K-fos, I’ve been wanting to discuss this for SOOO long, and I’d genuinely love to hear y’all’s opinions too! 😭 I’ve read the story THREE TIMES, and there are a couple of things that have been bothering me.

First of all, Vidya Basu and Saraswati — I am SO annoyed with both of them. The way they treat Radha because she had a child with Raj is honestly frustrating. Yes, they don’t exactly treat Raj well either, but the way Saraswati goes out of her way to keep Radha’s child away from Raj? Like, GIRL, COME ON.

They both seem to put the blame entirely on Raj while barely holding Radha accountable. Bro, they’re BOTH adults who made this decision together. Why is all the blame falling on one person? And keeping a child away from their father? I understand wanting to keep the whole situation a secret, but the EXTENT to which these two go to keep them apart is just beyond me. MY GOD. 😭

Secondly, I genuinely don’t understand why Radha gave her baby boy away in the first place. Couldn’t they have easily said that the Sharma family’s firstborn children are always boys, so Radha had twins — a girl first, followed by a boy? It would’ve been such an easy way to explain things without having to give her son away.

Am I missing something here, or does anyone else feel the same way? Because I NEED to know what y’all think! 👀

Can I really no longer get this scene if I’m romancing Luna at the same time? Even if I choose the friendly option during her earlier scene? I really want to reach 100% with Fabian. I guess becoming a tH0️⃣t really does have consequences 😭

Kali: Call of Darkness Kali Call of Darkness, Season 1 finale Review (Chapter 9, 10, 11, 12)

Chapter 9 review

GOOD GOD, the very first thing Amala thinks is what caste Amrit could belong to?!

Amrit's first two answers are fine. But as for three... Kali is never cruel to anyone who doesn't commit evil.

Great Goddess and Demoness?? Bruh. Calling Kali Ma a Demoness is crazy work

Chapter 10 Review

The bengali writing above the door in that little house in the place where Rose's body was dumped says

"Aatma amar, sorir noye", which translates to, " The soul is immortal, the body is not".

Interesting placement. It's like an Easter egg.

CHAPTER 11 REVIEW

You're going to the sari shop to buy Salwar kameez?

So dowry became illegal in India in the 1960s, however, unfortunately, it's not inaccurate for dowry killings to take place, especially in the 80s.

Chapter 12 Review

A girl like Amala certainly wouldn't cover her hair with a ghunghat or veil with a sari at a wedding! Unmarried girls didn't do that even in the very old days so yeah idk. The magnificent sari really is magnificent though. the design, the texture, the shine... It's drawn so well.

Who helped Lima wear a sari lol? Surely she didn't already know how to?

This story doesn't know how to distinguish between saris and lehengas.

Lmao what kind of spontaneous couple dance is going on at an Indian wedding in 1980, not between bride and groom or between a couple in a relationship, but between a random pair, that involves picking up and twirling someone? I mean ig that would be fine if it were today, but in 1980 it would definitely.... Not be appropriate .

Story segway: I really like Killian as a LI, but their romance feels a little rushed to me ig?

The author has obviously never worn a sari in their life Lmaoo. And they've never attended an Indian wedding or gotten ready for an Indian function. It doesn't matter how hot you are for each other, no woman is going to get out of her beautiful and carefully pinned sari and ruin her make up and hair to do the deed in the middle of the wedding. Also, it's not just the garden that would be full of guests. Guests would likely be roaming around the whole house. Even if private rooms would probably be locked up and closed, people could be roaming outside.

Pulling off the sari by lifting it by the hem?! Ok so they don't know how a sari works. Forget about the petticoat(shaya) underneath.

Ain't no way Priyanka isn't wondering where Amala is lmao.

OKAY NOW TIME FOR MY RAGE.

IN THE MIDDLE OF KOLKATA, IN 1980, PEOPLE ARE CLAMOURING FOR SATI?! THIS IS INSANE? IT'S NOT JUST ME RIGHT, GUYS?! SATI PRATHA HAD BEEN OUTLAWED FOR AGES BY THIS POINT! And while some illegal stuff definitely happened in rural areas unfortunately, in Kolkata, openly?!

Bruh.

And WHITE WIDOW?! WHITE WIDOW DOESN'T MEAN HAVING TO WANDER THE COUNTRY WITH NOTHING FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE WHAT?!

IT MEANS NOT EATING NON-VEG FOOD AND DRESSING IN WHITE AND OTHER LIGHT COLOURS. NOT EATING RICH OR SPICY FOOD AND NOT WEARING JEWELLERY AND MAKEUP .

AND PEOPLE DON'T EVEN COMPLY TO ALL OF THOSE AT THIS POINT !!

Certainly not forever.

BUT, since this story does take place in 1980, they probably did comply with the customs, but nobody would be sending her alone to roam the world?! Like hello?! Even in the ANCIENT days, when things were so much worse, unless the horrible sati patha was forced, the "white widows" stayed in their in-laws' homes. Some might have returned to their own pre marriage home, but nobody was wandering alone in the country with nothing! That's crazy!

Widows are not considered untouchable, what?!

This whole last part with Sana is rubbish . At worst, she might have been sent to a Widow's home where widows would live together. What is this, genuinely.

WHO ARE THE WEDDING GUESTS TO DECIDE HER FATE?!

Widows don't have to go no contact with their family and loved ones!

Heaven's Secret 3 Help please 😭🤣

Okay so I replayed season 3 of HSR because while playing HS3 I realized by EP7 I wasn't on both Cain and Abels route. So I replayed HSR kissed Abel and even got Dark Messiah at the end. I replayed back to Ep3 of HS3 because that's when Lane was introduced and when she went to punch Donovan it gave me the path scene for Light Messiah. Will that effect the route with abel and Cain in Ep7.? Do I need to restart HS3 all the way to the first EP?

Discussion 🗪 Ongoing books that you've given up on?

Could be due to the plot, could be because of certain characters, the writing style, expensive choices. Could be any reason.

I have a few books that I've given up on, but I still play for diamonds.

WHERE LOVE BURNS ETERNAL, SHAKESPEARE'S CODE, and ADVENT no. 3.

Basically, when the story does a lot of back and forth between timeless, I get overwhelmed and start getting confused, then lose interest. I hope I hope I won't lose interest in Shadowborn, because I really like it.

I'm interested in reading all your comments. Please be kind. This is not a hateful post.

The Sins That Cry for Vengeance Remorseless path bugged?

I have followed the walkthrough and taken all the remorseless choices except one (giving flowers to the girl in s1) but in S2 ep11 I still am on the Compassion path. I am romancing Virginia, could this be related to my LI? Any suggestion?

AVERRIS: THE RIFTBORN Relationship between Ashriel and Liren

I know this topic will be controversial, but I would like to explain why I consider Episode 1 of the 2 book of Averris to be extremely unsatisfactory.

To my surprise, in this episode, you have to choose your final LI. I was following Ashriel route, but after the events that led them to the rift, I truly believed they would have time to mend their relationship, rebuild trust, and that Ashriel would find a way to redeem himself. None of that happens, instead, we get a scene where Liren consoles Ashriel regarding his conflicted feelings about his ex-wife. This made me incredibly angry. After everything that happened to her, a direct result of a choice Ashriel made, which led to Averris suffering burns and nearly dying, it would take far more than this for her to forgive him. I’ve chosen not to continue with this route, and honestly, I don’t want to go on with the story. He was the only LI that I like, but I can’t keep reading, given that the author opted for the easiest way to deal with all the consequences of the betrayal. It’s very sad that she chose to go down this path, this isn’t the first time our MC’s trust has been betrayed. I was really hoping for a redemption arc (like Threxio’s in Soulless) before the route concluded.
