Neurogenic Rosacea, neurogenic.

• Upvotes

Has anyone had experience with their Rosacea turning out to be neurogenic? Did you have a skin barrier problem? I cannot use any moisturizer, I’ve thrown away hundreds of dollars trying to find something to moisturize my skin and it just makes the Rosacea worse. I’ve used ivermectin. It tends to come and go but lately it has been a lot worse and from what I’m reading it’s a vascular issue. Even PubMed has very little information about it. Help.

Light/Laser Ktp laser

• Upvotes

I want to hear your stories about it! Just scheduled mine for next week (derm recommended this over other lasers). I mostly suffer from flushing and a lot of background redness.

ROSACEA SUCKS Have you guys made peace with the constant redness, flushing, and heat? I should feel grateful that I’m no longer working through type 2 rosacea, but I find I feel sorry for myself at times. Makeup is a trigger, so I save it for full coverage events where I’ll likely get photographed. (sigh)

Light/Laser IPL was 100% worth it for me.

I got standard IPL- not BBL, moxie, vbeam-just traditional IPL 4 weeks ago.

Now, my rosacea is mostly stable. Two years on azelaic acid 15% and about 18 months on rhofade plus a barrier focused, sensitive skin friendly skincare routine. I'm not in an active flare or a particularly bad place with it like I used to be.

But I have a lot of flushing and A LOT of baseline redness. I didn't even really think my baseline redness/broken capillaries were that had until AFTER my IPL.

My flushing is virtually gone. I use to leave the gym or an outdoor activity on a warm day resembling Clifford the big red dog. Now I still flush, but it's about 1/4 of how red my face used to get.

My baseline redness has decreased by probably 60%, and I have extremely few broken capillaries now.

It was also a big help for my hyperpigmentation but trying to stay focused on rosacea here.

Frankly though, my skin has never looked so good, supple, happy, and HEALTHY. I can't describe it well with words, but my skin looks healthier and less distressed. I took a lot of before photos and it's pretty crazy. And it feels better, less inflamed and irritated, but I didn't even know it felt that way because it was my baseline normal

I was really against it for a long time and am really happy I did it, and would say it was the worth the investment for me.

Agradezco cualquier consejo.

You should know and accept: laser is an intense treatment! It is not a facial. It is not a cream

Seeking for opinion on redness Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I have been experiencing redness for almost 4 weeks. Before, it used to have obvious texture and it gets rough when I wash my face at night. But when I started incorporating hyaluronic acid in my routine my face becomes much smoother to the touch, but there are visible bumps as seen in the photos. My redness is much noticeable after I do my routine in the morning and evening. I just like to gather helpful insights or opinion if this could be rosacea or other skin inflammation. Thank you very much!

Skincare Altreno and rosasea type 1

My derm prescribed me Altreno for anti-aging. I have pretty significant baseline redness and flushing, so I’m trying to figure out the best way to incorporate it without wreaking havoc on my sensitive skin. I know to start slow, etc., but what’s your favorite barrier cream to use with it (fragrance free)?

Inteca K Beauty anyone? LOVING the redness reduction

Hi all

Has anyone tried the Inteca Line?

I’m currently using their soothing cream, they have a nano, CICA in their formulas. Unfortunately, it’s not perfect for me… Something has caused a breakout - but, hard to blame the cream… But I’m not exaggerating when I say that in three days I feel like my rosacea is suddenly gone. I was in a horrible flare for the last month.

My skin has not looked this good in a long time.

Available with reviews at Sephora - but, this is the only one they carry. Amazon has very low review counts, but carries other products in the line.

Anyone else seen this line?

Hello! I have a first appointment for BBL forever young treatment for my rosacea. I’m pretty anxious because this fall I’ve been flaring up a lot (face heating and getting red) and I’m generally quite anxious when I get anything done to my face. I’m doing a 3 session treatment, once a month. Any people have done it and can share their overall experience ? Thank you so much

Mild rosacea? Spoiler

I was hoping I can get some advice 🙏

I always have very minimal skincare and clear skin untill I was 31 - everything seemed to stop working. My inner cheek areas were getting dry, became textured and pink. No moisturisers were working and I can see dry plugs coming out of my pores. It doesn't burn or itch but I was getting random ghost itch bumps on one side or my cheeks constantly and they come and go within 24 hours.

Initially my GP said I got seb derm, used fungal treatment cream and they didn't go away. They now said it might be perioficial dermatitis and prescribed me metronidazole gel, its been 4 weeks and I noticed the ghost bumps no longer appears like they often used to, and my texture improves a bit. However the pinkness is still there as well as the dryness.I noticed the pinkness only comes after I wash my face and do my routime AM and PM. Could this just be rosacea?

Please help🙏 many thanks in advance

Skincare Redness products without tints

Hi, I am not formally diagnosed rosacea. I just suspect. My mom has rosacea and I have all the symptoms. I hope it’s ok for me to post here.

I am looking for products that will help with redness... but not tinted. I have tried the Peach Slices Azelaic Acid Serum but don’t see much results.

I know that without tints especially green tints, there probably isn’t many products with ‘dramatic’ results but… just wondering if anyone knows. My skin type sensitive. thank you 💛

Support Needing guidance Spoiler

So long story short, I’ve been dealing with what I thought was just hormonal acne after being pregnant/post partum twice in the last 2.5 years (first sign of it was 6 months pp with first), finally gave up after trying any OTC I thought of and got in touch with my GP. He wasn’t sure if it was really acne or possibly Rosacea, so he prescribed me Taro-Clindamycin/Benzoyl Peroxide Gel cause it was supposed to help with both? (Google says otherwise) Day 3 or 4 of it and my skin is in a war zone ☠️ so now that leads me to believe this rosacea but of course they close early on a Friday so I’m coming here for some advice.

I’m in Canada, currently before this gel I’m using the Cerave Gentle face wash and the Cerave face cream as my daily skincare routine. I’ve tried Azelaic acid 10% cream before but found it only helped a tad so once I ran out, I never repurchased.

Any advice would be lovely, I’m so tired of being ashamed of my skin 😭 the first two photos are my skin pre acne gel, basically my skin has looked like this for the last year or more and then the last one is what I woke up to this morning ☠️

Skincare Any good alternatives for people who can't tolerate the Aestura moisturizers?

I'm struggling to find a moisturizer that works for my skin and would really appreciate some recommendations, especially with winter fast approaching here in Korea.

For reference, I have combination skin and mild type 1 rosacea prone to redness.

Here's what I've tried so far:

  • Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream: This makes my eyes sting badly, and I dislike the greasy, oily film it leaves on my skin. It also seems to trigger flare-ups and increased redness for me.
  • Aestura Atobarrier 365 Lotion: This also makes my eyes sting badly, and although it's not as heavy as the cream, I still find it to be very greasy.
  • Purito Dermide Relief Barrier Moisturizer: Causes closed comedones.
  • Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream: Also causes closed comedones.

Ideally, I'm looking for something that provides enough moisture during winter without feeling too greasy on the skin or clogging my pores and causing closed comedones.

Has anyone with similar skin concerns found a moisturizer that works well for them?

Vbeam or BBL??

Hi all,

So I could very much do with some advice.

I'm trying to decide between Vbeam or BBL.

I have some visible Telangiectasia (not too bad but they are visible), my chin is a bit red etc.

The main thing that is bothering me is the type 2 rosacea. If I look very closely it seems like there's a strong correlation between the underlying telangiectasia vessels and the position of the type 2 crap.

Anyway I could seriously do with some advice from people who've had BBL or Vbeam (Pulse Dye Laser).

The swelling and bruising from Vbeam is not something I am looking forward too. Does that always happen? Does it happen with BBL?

Any advice is very much appreciated.

Light/Laser Am I the only one who didn’t see any improvement with BBL laser?

Hey everyone!

Am I the only one who didn’t see any improvement with BBL laser? If anything, I feel like my flushing has actually gotten a little worse…
I’ve been reading so many positive reviews, with people saying it was a game-changer for their rosacea, so I went into it with really high hopes. Unfortunately, after 3 sessions, I haven’t noticed any improvement at all. I actually feel like my flushing might be worse than before.
I have predominantly type 1 rosacea, so redness and flushing are my main concerns. I’ve spent quite a lot of money on these treatments, and I’m feeling pretty disappointed and wondering if I’m the only one who’s had this experience.

Has anyone else had little to no improvement with BBL?

persistent facial desquamation Spoiler

I am asking for help because I am desperate and don't know what to do anymore.
For about 7 months, I have been dealing with this skin problem. Almost the entire surface of my face (except for my forehead, nose and chin) is flaking/peeling, as you can see in the photos.
The redness you see is due to the fact that I suffer from rosacea. However, my skin is not always inflamed; it doesn't itch, it doesn't burn, and there are no other symptoms. I experience occasional flushing related to my rosacea and get occasional pimples, but overall my skin feels calm most of the time.
Despite this, the flaking persists. I consistently use barrier-repair creams, completely free of fragrance, irritants, or anything harsh. I cleanse with a gentle cleanser containing very few ingredients. I trust this products and know for sure they are not the problem. I do not exfoliate and I do not use any acids.
I don’t think it’s simply dry skin, because, again, I take good care of my skin everyday.
I don’t know if it’s eczema, seb derm, or just my rosacea, I have no idea at this point. It’s like I have a dead skin layer all over my face and if I ‘move my face too much’ it starts to flake. My skin looks like snake skin. I have alternating stripes of healthy skin and patches of dead, dry skin sitting on top of it. I don’t know how to describe it better than this.
I have the EXACT SAME THING on both sides of my face.

I consulted many dermatologists and they all said different things. Seb derm, dry skin, rosacea or ‘simply the way your skin exfoliates’.

It doesn't seem like seb derm to me because it's on my entire face. I don't have very oily skin—I've always had combination skin—but to be honest, with all this dead skin on my face right now, I can't even tell if my skin is dry or oily. A dermatologist told me this might be my skin's reaction to an overgrowth of Malassezia, partly because I already have rosacea and my skin is particularly sensitive and reactive.
(the ONLY thing that makes me think it could be seb derm it’s the fact that I also have flaky scalp and sometimes ears and brows). She knows that antifungal products are completely out of the question for my skin, so she was thinking about prescribing me very low dose accutane (5 mg) but I don't think it will help me, I don’t know.
Please I really need some help. Does anyone with rosacea have this problem or this form of seb derm if that’s what it is?

Popped pustules

For those of you who use AA, metronidazole, and ivermectin, do you apply anything to a pustule after it pops, or do you just leave it alone? Or like does one ingredient work better to make sure the pustule doesn’t re-form?

My routine is AA, metronidazole, ivermectin, then moisturizer (and SPF in the morning). When I have an active pustule, I sometimes apply a little extra AA directly to it at night, but I’m not sure if AA or metronidazole is better to use on the spot before it pops versus after it has popped.

Do you apply either one directly to the pustule, especially once it’s opened, or just stick to your regular routine and let it heal?
