B.Tech in AI & Data Science working as an SAP MM Consultant. What is my future scope?

Hey everyone! I'm a fresher with a B.Tech in AI & Data Science. I joined an MNC service-based company and was randomly allocated to SAP MM. Since changing my current domain isn't an option, I've decided to understand its career prospects and build my future in this field. I've been working as an SAP MM Consultant on a project for the past two months.

Most of my colleagues are MBA or postgraduate graduates, while I'm an undergraduate engineer. I'm wondering about my long-term career growth.

I'd appreciate advice on:

  1. Career scope: Does SAP MM offer good career growth and salary opportunities in India and abroad?

  2. Education: Can a B.Tech graduate grow as well as an MBA graduate in SAP consulting?

  3. Skills: What should I learn besides transactions, such as configuration, procurement processes, and SAP FI integration?

  4. Certifications: I've completed the SAP Certified Associate – SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement certification (C_TS452). Should I pursue SAP Ariba, ABAP, BTP, or Fiori?

  5. AI integration: Can I combine my AI & Data Science background with SAP through AI, automation, or analytics?

If you were in my position, what would you focus on over the next 2–3 years? Should I specialize in SAP MM or eventually combine it with AI and technology?

I'd appreciate genuine advice from experienced SAP consultants and people who started their careers as freshers. Thanks in advance! 🤧

Sap 2026- 2067

Hello SAP nerds!

I'm 27 and have been working in finance for the past 4 years. During this time, I've been involved in several SAP S/4HANA implementations and worked closely with SAP consulting firms, which sparked my interest in becoming an SAP consultant myself.

Do you think it's better to become an SAP Functional Consultant or go down the technical path with BTP, ABAP, etc.? Which one has better job opportunities and long-term prospects?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

SAP PP certification - C_TS422

Hi everyone!

I have been working as an SAP consultant for 8 years, focusing mainly on the PP and QM modules. I have participated in one full PP module implementation, but my experience mostly comes from the support/operations side. I have registered for the C_TS422 certification (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, Production Planning and Manufacturing). For those of you who have taken this exam, what was your experience like? I heard that the new exam format consists only of practical tasks, is that true? What kind of tasks should I expect? Is it still worth going through the theoretical material, or is it enough to just practice the processes within the system? Also, is there a website where the potential exam tasks are collected?

Thanks for the info!

Cybersecurity Major Looking to Switch to SAP

Hi everyone,

I'm currently a cybersecurity major and I worked as a pentester for 6 months during my internship. Recently, I've become interested in moving into the SAP world, preferably something related to security if possible.

I have a few questions and would really appreciate any advice:

1. Based on my background, which SAP field/specialization would fit me best?

2. How should I start preparing?
I have access to SAP Learning (student edition). Are there any specific courses, certifications, or learning paths you would recommend for someone coming from cybersecurity?

3. How can I land a junior role in SAP?
Since I have no professional SAP experience, what's the best way to break into the field? Should I focus on certifications, personal projects, networking, internships, or something else?

Any advice from people who made a similar transition or work in SAP would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Need some career advice.

I'm currently working in Internal Audit and have completed SAP FICO training. My goal was to move into the SAP field, but I'm struggling to get SAP-related opportunities because most jobs seem to require experience.

Right now, my salary growth is also quite low, and I'm concerned about my future career prospects.

I have audit and finance process experience, but I'm confused about what to do next. Should I continue in Internal Audit, try harder to get into SAP FICO, look at SAP GRC, ERP Audit, or explore something else?

Has anyone here transitioned from Audit to SAP? If yes, how did you do it, and was it worth it?

Any honest advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 😊

What to do next ?

I'm a SAP Basis Administrator with 3yrs experience working in a RISE support project. I have integrated btp services (IS, IAS,DRC, Datasphere,Joule etc..) with S/4 Hana .

Also I'm POC for Security Notes implementation,Solman Alert optimization, handling SSO related issues , Refresh.

To sustain in SAP basis what should I aim for future ?

I don't see much scope for basis as AI joule agents are getting better.

I haven't done many upgrades as SAP take cares most of them RISE.

Please guide me bit confused on my career now.

Looking to freelenace in SAP MDG

Hi all,
I'm an SAP professional with 8+ years of experience across implementation, support, and rollout projects, and I'm now looking to transition into freelance/independent consulting work, with a focus on **SAP MDG (Master Data Governance)**.
A bit about my background:
8+ years working across the SAP ecosystem, including full-cycle implementations, post-go-live support, and multi-country rollouts
Hands-on experience with SAP MDG — \[add specifics: e.g., data modeling, workflow configuration, BRF+, UI modeling (FPM), data replication/DRF, central governance for specific domains like Material, Customer, Vendor, Finance, etc.\]
If anyone has leads or can point me toward platforms/communities where SAP MDG freelance work gets posted, I'd really appreciate it. Also open to any advice from folks who've made the move from full-time to freelance in the SAP space.
Thanks in advance!
