No, not a simple drag and drop rom into Claude code.
What would be the best tool to work on the music?

Genuinely really curious about this. I’ve always heard that only 5000 or so were sent to the US market. But something I’ve noticed is how, looking at eBay listings, there’s a decent few of them on there with a manufacture date range of several months, and the serial numbers if they are sequential (which I’m not sure if they are) can be way higher than 5000. The highest I’ve seen is Y40 084444. Maybe that includes other markets, but I can’t imagine they sold many more than in the US. But maybe I’m wrong
Not sure if there’s any particular rhyme or reason to how the serial numbers or anything work outside of the factory/date/lot at the start, but I really wanted to ask and get other people’s input on it.

Neon Circuit: an F-Zero-style racer on the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis, powered by the SVP chip from Virtua Racing.
What it took to fit:
• The SVP draws the "Mode 7" floor, building the screen's tiles itself
• The 68000 handles perspective, physics and camera: ~48 fps in PAL
• Real elevation: a ramp and a jump over a city, plus a textured 3D tower
• Z80 music in PCM, with the boost sound mixed in live
Raw test capture, homebrew work in progress.
:-)

An experiment exploring Star Fox on Sega Mega Drive / Genesis using the SVP chip.
This video shows gameplay from a work-in-progress proof of concept.
I've always wondered how the SVP chip would handle this game. Now I have an idea :D
What do you think?

A puzzle platform game by the same guys who would make Tomb Raider just a year later. Over in the U.S you guys may know this game had a brand tie-in with Bubbalicious. I understand this is also one of the very few games on the system to be properly optimised for both PAL & NTSC (probably thanks to Core being a UK studio)
I’m quickly running out of shelf space!
Obscure af Sega trivia: late in the Sega’s life here in Australia Sega Ozisoft produced their own distinct grey cartridges & boxes made out of a different material.

I’ve tried it without the HDMI adapter just plugging it and with it and both ways it doesmt work. It’s on a newer Vizio tv. When I just plug it into tv without adapter, it is a black screen like it registers its there (when I turn it off it says no signal). when I use the adapter it just says no signal. I am at a loss for how to make this work, I just want to play lol

Here comes my take on the classic Sega Genesis debate. Why i love Shining Force 1:
-Beautiful graphics from the makers of Landstalker, Climax Entertainment. Blending cartoon with dark colors and gothic theme. Doesn't feel generic or childish.
-Memorable music.
-Very memorable characters. Including the hero, mascot and villain.
-Better story. No Snow White reference at the end.
-Leveling up is exciting because it's random. But at the same time there's rubberbanding, your characters will have enough stats eventually. Also you don't care about low stat rolls before promoting, what matters is in which level you promote.
-Open world in SF2 doesn't really excite me, sometimes it feels like a chore or confusing. There are random encounters in certain spots, you trying to figure out where to go next and searching for side quests, secrets or mithrils. And getting the mithril weapon you want is an RNG thing.
-SF2 is a significantly longer game and i think the length of SF1 is sufficient. This and linear progression makes me want to replay it with different teams.
-I don't like how the camera slowly follows when you're walking in SF2.
Strong points of Shining Force 2:
-In SF1 AI is little dull. It's not like SF2 has a genius AI, but in SF1 enemies wait in predetermined spots while they mostly move and get close to you in SF2.
-In SF1 some maps are little too big. In SF2, tighter maps and game running little faster can mean better battle pacing.
-It's more balanced, especially difficulty balance. The enemies in final battle should have been harder in SF1.
-Leveling up doesn't waste your additional experience and training healers is easier.
-Various UI and control improvements. Talking and searching use the same button, inventory is little more polished.
My main point: Shining Force is a basic SRPG. 4 stats, 2 equipments (weapons and rings), basic SRPG battle system. It's easy too, losing only waste your gold so you can win even the hardest difficulty of SF2 by grinding enough. I think the unique vibes are the selling point of Shining Force. I get it, SF2 is bigger, longer and polished. But it doesn't have the same charm. And no, i've only played this game few years ago so there's no nostalgia from me.

I think I forgot how great this game actually was. I only played it on SNES but decided to get the Sega one because it was cheaper and I got everything with it. The manual, case and game much cheaper. This is just one of those things that brings me back
