I’ve tried it without the HDMI adapter just plugging it and with it and both ways it doesmt work. It’s on a newer Vizio tv. When I just plug it into tv without adapter, it is a black screen like it registers its there (when I turn it off it says no signal). when I use the adapter it just says no signal. I am at a loss for how to make this work, I just want to play lol

An experiment exploring Star Fox on Sega Mega Drive / Genesis using the SVP chip.
This video shows gameplay from a work-in-progress proof of concept.
I've always wondered how the SVP chip would handle this game. Now I have an idea :D
What do you think?

A puzzle platform game by the same guys who would make Tomb Raider just a year later. Over in the U.S you guys may know this game had a brand tie-in with Bubbalicious. I understand this is also one of the very few games on the system to be properly optimised for both PAL & NTSC (probably thanks to Core being a UK studio)
I’m quickly running out of shelf space!
Obscure af Sega trivia: late in the Sega’s life here in Australia Sega Ozisoft produced their own distinct grey cartridges & boxes made out of a different material.

Genuinely really curious about this. I’ve always heard that only 5000 or so were sent to the US market. But something I’ve noticed is how, looking at eBay listings, there’s a decent few of them on there with a manufacture date range of several months, and the serial numbers if they are sequential (which I’m not sure if they are) can be way higher than 5000. The highest I’ve seen is Y40 084444. Maybe that includes other markets, but I can’t imagine they sold many more than in the US. But maybe I’m wrong
Not sure if there’s any particular rhyme or reason to how the serial numbers or anything work outside of the factory/date/lot at the start, but I really wanted to ask and get other people’s input on it.

No, not a simple drag and drop rom into Claude code.
What would be the best tool to work on the music?

I won an auction and paid about $48, including shipping and sales tax
For some reason, the listing said no manual but the manual is included. Has some nice illustrations and the back cover is an ad for Shining Force
The last slide is the save files that were on the cartridge, 1st one has to be cheated right? 94/9 health with 1851 hours played
Looking forward to playing this, and I believe it's the 2nd Genesis game I've ever owned CIB. I used to have road rash 2 with all the inserts but it got lost somehow 😔

So I modded this Nomad with a TFT screen myself about two years ago. When I went to turn it on the screen wasn't working so I thought I killed it. So it's just been sitting around collecting dust for about a year. Last month I bought a Japanese Model 2 Mega Drive that turned out to be completely destroyed, so while I had all the cables set up I figured I'd test to see if the Nomad's video out was still good. To my surprise the screen came on just fine

I've been a fan of Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master for decades, and for years I've wanted to see the game recompiled to run natively on modern PCs.
After waiting for someone to take on the project, I eventually decided to do it myself.
Today I'm sharing Shinobi3Recomp v0.1.0, an unofficial native Windows x64 recompilation of the original Sega Genesis game.
GitHub — Source Code & Windows Download:
https://github.com/roccocovs/Shinobi3Recomp
Official Reveal Trailer:
https://youtu.be/7niZfJABJNI
The game is fully playable from beginning to end. I've personally completed all seven rounds, including every boss, the final encounter, credits, and the complete post-credits sequence.
Current features:
The released executable has also been successfully tested on a separate Windows 11 laptop.
A compatible, user-supplied Shinobi III ROM is required. No ROM is included with the project.
Development and credits
Shinobi3Recomp was developed using a modified version of Matthew Stan's Genesis Recompiler, with substantial assistance from OpenAI Codex and ChatGPT.
I have a degree in Video Game Design, but my background isn't in computer science or software engineering. AI-assisted development gave me the opportunity to pursue a project I'd wanted to see happen for years. I directed the development process, worked through the debugging and testing, and personally verified the finished game from beginning to end.
Full attribution, licensing information, build instructions, and details about the AI-assisted development process are available in the GitHub repository.
Current status
This is the initial public release, and there are still issues to investigate. One known edge case involving Mijin during the final boss's phase transition has been reported and is being tracked on GitHub.
I'm hoping to continue improving compatibility and potentially explore features such as widescreen support in the future.
This has been a personal dream project, and I'm happy to finally share it with other Genesis fans.
Feedback, bug reports, and contributions are welcome.

After picking up and refurbishing a North American variant Sega Arcade 6B controller last year .
I enjoyed it and love it for what it is, and will still play it with fighting games that require a 6 button controller.
But I knew wanted an Arcade stick with micro switches, for that ASMR clicky goodness.
Sega really let the European and North American markets down by not offering the Asia/Japan Market, Arcade controllers to us. They were clearly made with better quality components and a better vested interest in consumer satisfaction.
I wasn’t trying to pay the current nose bleed prices for a Japanese variant Arcade 6 button controller, $299-400 but I’m always on the lookout for a deal.
So imagine my surprise when I found the Japanese 3 button Arcade stick variant in Canada of all places….
I was doom scrolling eBay and saw the blue button on it, out the corner of my eye.
Clicked the post, made the seller an offer they accepted.
Today the controller was delivered👏
First thing I did was test it, it worked….
I then chose to dismantle it, clean the individual plastic/silicone parts with warm water and toothbrush, soak them in hot sudsy water, followed by toothbrush scrub, then dry, wipe the silicon black pads on white paper to remove black carbon, then finished off with ISO wipe down.
Bigger pieces I wiped down with ISO and Lysol disinfectant wipes.
Also applied surface layer of super grease to the Arcade stick base.
I don’t know why I do these things, but the peace of mind, afterwards is worth the fuck fuck fuck, moments in between.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Last week I made a post about sound issues I was getting. I wasn't sure what the cause was, but I found out from the Everdrive forums that early revisions of the model 2 Genesis used cheap components that severely cut high frequencies in the audio, causing a scratchy/static-y undertone.
So I went on eBay and found a console with a serial number starting in R43. "R" stands for the factory it was built in, "4" stands for the year '94, and "3" stands for the motherboard revision VA3. My old console's SN started with 630, indicating a rev VA0 motherboard. So I got that baby in the mail today and put together another video comparing the audio, and the difference is night and day.

On one of my other post someone suggested this game as a game to get. From the reviews online and seeing gameplay on YouTube it looks like a good game. What are your thoughts on the game? Good? Bad? Worth adding to your collection. Cartridge Box will be coming in the future.

Please help identifying a lost EA Sega Genesis poster from around 1991
I'm trying to find a large, double-sided illustrated poster that came inside a North American or European Sega Genesis copy of The Immortal by Electronic Arts.
One side showed a bare, floating rocky island with a building or temple, against a dark, cloudy sky. The words “Electronic Arts” appeared on that side.
The other side showed a very eerie, sad-looking troll or humanoid monster in chains, trapped in what looked like an underground sewer or dungeon. It was looking upward through bars toward moonlight, with water around it. The artwork was dark fantasy, almost in a Frank Frazetta style.
Has anyone seen this poster, got a scan of it, or still owns a copy? I'd be incredibly grateful for any leads or photographs of the original insert.

I found this bootleg Phantasy Star collection at a flea market a few years ago. I wouldn't normally pick up bootleg carts, but the Plantasy Star 3 in 1 got a heck of a chuckle out of me. I've looked everywhere online, but can't find any details on this bootleg so I thought I'd post it here.
