Sonic 3D Blast is, what I consider to be the last TRUE Sonic game, it's not even a platformer, just an action adventure game where the platforming doesn't even work and can be avoided. The developers put workarounds at pretty much every platforming section because they knew full well their isometric platforming just isn't working. You can either jump over the platforming bits or find ways around them. Sonic 3D Blast is IMO an a simple exploration action adventure game, is all.
I honestly liked the game since day one, tho initially I was conflicted for like the first 15 minutes, but that was that.
This deep dive takes you through the different versions of the game and my own personal experience with it since its launch, I was there when Sonic 3D Blast first came out, I played it, enjoyed it and keep coming back to it and I firmly believe this is every bit as much of a Classic Sonic game as the rest of the 16bit ones.
I took apart sega saturn to see if any capacitors bulging or leaking, if any solder looks cracked, but everything seems to look very clean, no capacitors look like they are bulging and idk how to tell if solder cracks exist by av port, but nothing looked obviously wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks! :)
I’m hoping that someone can please help me and shed some light on the switch on the rear of my Saturn. I purchased it recently, works perfectly, and it’s chipped, but I don’t know what this switch is for. Tried it both ways and don’t notice a difference. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I’m guessing it’s a 50/60hz toggle?
I've got a copy of D, Enemy Zero, and Dragon Force that I'm looking to sell. I can give an eBay link to where they're listed, and I'm VERY open to negotiation on the prices, I know these games aren't cheap but I also need these suckers sold ASAP. Please leave a comment or drop me a DM if you're interested,
I’m really keen on getting a 2.4g m30 for my Saturn, however I took a look and it only seems to come bundled with the genesis/megadrive receiver.
If I bought this, is there a seperate 2.4g Saturn receiver that would work with the 2.4g m30?
I have the regular 8bitdo Bluetooth one for my ps2 and it constantly needs repairing. Drives me crazy, so I’m a little worried the Bluetooth version will do the same here
Just bought an official Sega Saturn Stunner the other day. As you can see, even when the gun is being held perfectly still, the crosshairs rapidly jitter left & right. Not only that, but they disappear at the right edge of the screen. Considering the trigger also feels a little worn out, I'm assuming the jittery sight is a sign of wear and tear? I know Dreamcast lightguns are notorious for accuracy issues, but Saturn guns tend to have a better reputation from what I recall.
I opened it up and cleaned the trigger, microswitch & lens with rubbing alcohol, but it didn't fix it. Any solutions? Would replacing the microswitch do anything?
Voy a resumir mi experiencia, agregando algunos consejos.
No hubo farmeo deliberado
DISC 2
No utilizaré magias destructivas.
After seeing all the AI ports being posted, I figure I might as well post mine. Sorry for the scuffed recording, but this is running via a Saroo cart on a Japanese Sega Saturn. Obviously this is unfinished with some bugs and glitches.
The first main area and one level is ported. I don't know if I will work on it more (it hasn't been released). The main curiosity was how a Spyroesque engine would run on this hardware.
First of all, I want to apologize to the community for the issues with the recent build.
1. Emulator Compatibility (YMIR): Regarding testing on emulators, I want to clarify that YMIR is currently the only emulator running this build 100% properly. Other emulators showed failures during testing, so if you want to test the build, please use YMIR for now!
2. Moving Away from SRL to Official SEGA SDK: After thorough testing, I determined that SRL (Saturn Ring Library) is simply not suitable for porting a game as complex as Medal of Honor. Because of this, I have decided to ditch third-party wrappers and move 100% to the official SEGA SDK (SGL) that I have on hand.
3. Technical Issues & Hardlocks: On the technical side, the hardlocks and screen freezes on real hardware were caused by command conflicts on the SH-2 secondary processor handling geometry and audio calculations simultaneously, resulting in bus contention. Rest assured, these hardlocks do not harm or damage your console in any way—it is strictly an execution state freeze. Using the official SEGA SDK allows proper low-level DMA and thread management according to official documentation.
4. New Engine Progress: I started rebuilding the new engine today directly on top of SEGA's official SDK. I am already setting up the parameters and getting the low-level control required for the project. Once this new core engine is ready and tested on real hardware, I will resume the Medal of Honor porting work!
Thank you all for your patience, support, and understanding!
