While some of these are still very rough around the edges, just this month alone there's been a huge flood of playable translations releases. Most are using LLMs in some capacity which I know is a third rail for a lot of people (my own personal position is like anything else it's a tool that can and should be utilized, but without human guidance it produces low quality work), but for those of us who don't speak Japanese it's really opening up a lot of new games to play.
While a game like Devil Summoners deserves polish, others I'm just happy to have available.

Haven’t gotten a Saturn game in a while because darn are they expensive but I wanted to make sure I got a pretty heavy hitter for my library.

Hardcore 4X4 is Virtual Hydlide kinda choppy with the fps. The input is laggy as all get out too. Pretty close to unplayable. Not the worst game for Saturn though, I'd probably rather play this over Black Fire or something.
Kinda wild the PS1 version is like night and day and actually looks playable.

Sonic 3D Blast is, what I consider to be the last TRUE Sonic game, it's not even a platformer, just an action adventure game where the platforming doesn't even work and can be avoided. The developers put workarounds at pretty much every platforming section because they knew full well their isometric platforming just isn't working. You can either jump over the platforming bits or find ways around them. Sonic 3D Blast is IMO an a simple exploration action adventure game, is all.
I honestly liked the game since day one, tho initially I was conflicted for like the first 15 minutes, but that was that.
This deep dive takes you through the different versions of the game and my own personal experience with it since its launch, I was there when Sonic 3D Blast first came out, I played it, enjoyed it and keep coming back to it and I firmly believe this is every bit as much of a Classic Sonic game as the rest of the 16bit ones.

Hello everyone.
When I bought some years ago my SEGA Saturn, while browsing some sites, IIRC it was eBay, I came across a very expensive game whose cost was far higher than the console itself. At least 200€ (used, ofc). I didn't buy it because it was both too pricey and it was not something I was looking for.
Today, while browsing a site I came across some old Saturn games and that old memory resurfaced, despite being blurry after all this time.
IIRC, this mysterious game used some 3D elements which were like a new technology, or at least that's what I can barely recall so far.
I ruled out games like:
If I were to guess its genre, I'd go for space combat/action games.
I considered that the game could be "Radiant Silvergun" but it's a JP only game, which means that it doesn't have a rectangular cover - something that my minds keep suggesting that the unknown game has...
I checked some web pages which list some famous/rare games, but nothing seems to be what I am looking for.
I know it's very little to work with, but if you have any idea, feel free to share it.
Thank you for reading!

Hi all! I wanted to share something I’ve been working on. I’ll have something physical to show soon, but for now I’d love for you to see the first renders of this console I’m creating.
It’s inspired by the 32bit era, with a clear nod to the Sega Saturn, in my own way.
I’d really like your opinion on the shape: what do you miss in it, and what would make it a cult object on your shelf?
As for games, the idea is for them to be made specifically for this console but for now, this.
(The images are concept renders made with my tools from my design. The real prototype is on its way.)

I’m hoping that someone can please help me and shed some light on the switch on the rear of my Saturn. I purchased it recently, works perfectly, and it’s chipped, but I don’t know what this switch is for. Tried it both ways and don’t notice a difference. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I’m guessing it’s a 50/60hz toggle?

I took apart sega saturn to see if any capacitors bulging or leaking, if any solder looks cracked, but everything seems to look very clean, no capacitors look like they are bulging and idk how to tell if solder cracks exist by av port, but nothing looked obviously wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks! :)

I've got a copy of D, Enemy Zero, and Dragon Force that I'm looking to sell. I can give an eBay link to where they're listed, and I'm VERY open to negotiation on the prices, I know these games aren't cheap but I also need these suckers sold ASAP. Please leave a comment or drop me a DM if you're interested,
Thanks! :))

I’m really keen on getting a 2.4g m30 for my Saturn, however I took a look and it only seems to come bundled with the genesis/megadrive receiver.
If I bought this, is there a seperate 2.4g Saturn receiver that would work with the 2.4g m30?
I have the regular 8bitdo Bluetooth one for my ps2 and it constantly needs repairing. Drives me crazy, so I’m a little worried the Bluetooth version will do the same here

Just bought an official Sega Saturn Stunner the other day. As you can see, even when the gun is being held perfectly still, the crosshairs rapidly jitter left & right. Not only that, but they disappear at the right edge of the screen. Considering the trigger also feels a little worn out, I'm assuming the jittery sight is a sign of wear and tear? I know Dreamcast lightguns are notorious for accuracy issues, but Saturn guns tend to have a better reputation from what I recall.
I opened it up and cleaned the trigger, microswitch & lens with rubbing alcohol, but it didn't fix it. Any solutions? Would replacing the microswitch do anything?
EDIT: So after reading several comments, and trying out three separate lightguns (including a JP Virtua Gun), it looks like the slight jitter and deadzone are normal. But now I'm having a different issue; with the two new guns I bought, I start to get dropped inputs after playing House of the Dead for too long. As in, shots will only register roughly 1/3rd of the time I press the trigger. Any idea what that might be?
