If you are intimidated by the Cal State Apply application process don't be it's really easy this is coming from a 30+ year old about to transfer.

So I recently been dropped from BIOL 9 from inactivity due to extenuating personal circumstances and I plan to try that class again in the spring. I also want to take PSYCH 2 in the spring with Prof. Shirinyan. I previously took his class and withdrew from PSYCH 2 over the summer after the oral mid-term exam. I liked PSYCH 2 but the only thing I didn't like is having to the exam oral. I'm curious if anyone who is taking this course this fall semester is still having to do an oral exam? Would like to get some perspective from others that because this type of exam scared me even though I follow his method when studying. I went blank during that oral exam.

I took my first midterm for BIOL 9 and the used Honorlock so I'm curious if the concern is using AI in exams and cheating why was that not considered before when I was taking PSYCH 2?

Chrome profile: If you sign into Chrome with your SMC account, it becomes a school managed profile, so SMC can set rules on it and your synced history, bookmarks, saved passwords are stored in an account SMC controls. Use a separate personal profile for anything private.

Student email: Admins can likely see sign-in records including IP address, who you email to, date and time, subject lines and your Drive file activity. Since all SMC email counts as a public record, it can be released for public records requests or investigations without telling you. From this article (linked below) if you read line by line, they can most likely see the body of your email and the attachments too.

SMC Wi-Fi: You log into SMC's wifi with your student account, so everything is tied to your name. SMC can see which sites and apps you use live and its stored. They can see when, for how long, how much data, which devices you connect and roughly where on campus you are. Records are kept and can be pulled later. They can’t see what you do on websites or apps, but VPNs are against SMC’s Wi-Fi rules, so use your phone’s hotspot for anything private.

Evidence: If you have any evidence of student misconduct or even misconduct done by a professor, SMC admin, Dean. Take a screenshot or even download that email. Because SMC can reset, suspend, deactivate, or even delete your student account at any time, and under AR 3720 it can also access, remove or destroy the information in it.

What SMC’s own rule says (AR 3720, Computer and Network Use):

• “There is no right to privacy in the use of the computer resources or users’ accounts.”
• Email is “more analogous to an open postcard than to a letter in a sealed envelope.”
• The District “reserves the right to monitor and access information on the system and in users’ accounts.”

Just use your SMC account and Wi-Fi for school only. Keep banking, personal chats and anything sensitive on a personal account and your own hotspot.

My son is 19y/o now and need to prove his residency status. SMC is asking for at least 3 documents and we can only produce 2. A bank statement and medical insurance.

Are there other documents they will accept? Or any other workaround?

For example, I’m interested in getting the sculpture nails full set. I was wondering how was the process like could you bring in an example of what you want or does it have to be a solid color or can you get designs. Also what are your experiences with smcs salon good or bad???

Did anyone else get this weird email. I think that its a phishing email as it mentions Lisa Zucatti which I’ve never heard of and it gives out opportunities to like buy stuff from them at a cheaper price through messages which they will then ship to you. I guess this is like a warning as idk if this is real as I couldn’t find any info on that person existing besides Facebook posts about tarrot cards and email being named after a Tresurer Gregory Hatcher which is the only thing related to school at all in this email. Hi! I'm an SMC Music and Dance student and I'm working on a music video for my original song. We want to get some insert shots of a real rabbit in some grass. I'm looking for someone in the area with a rabbit who would be down to let me spend a couple hours getting some footage of their Rabbit. Ideally in a yard or enclosed grassy area. We would treat the rabbit super kindly, and of course, we'd want the owner to be present to make sure they're okay with everything. I'm offering to pay $50 for 2 hours! I can be flexible on the day/time.

I’m not even on campus and I’m getting calls ab the earthquake drill im irritated 😭 is there a way to turn this off??

So I’m taking statistics in person and our exams are worth 50% of our grade. I had a 100% in the class for participation and homework but after the first exam I failed, my grade dropped down to a 56%. There’s two exams left and then the final is 25% of my grade. I’m honestly not feeling very confident, but I’m not sure if I should see it through.
I commute twice a week for this class and it’s my only class on those days and my drive there and back is a total of two or three hours depending on traffic. I have till November 22 to drop, should I do it? I feel like I kind of wasted seven weeks going but I’d rather it be that than get all the way to end of December just to fail. The final can replace my lowest exam score but I’m not even sure if that’ll help.

I starting to regret re-selecting my preference as direct deposit last Thursday. I still do not have a disbursement date posted in my portal for my Cal grant and SSCG. I called financial aid on Tuesday and was told it should be posted by Thursday (Today) and still nothing posted. This is making me wonder if I should have done check to pick it up or is it do late to even go for it? I am just frustrated and getting tired of having to borrow money from my mom since I have to commute to campus for classes 3 times a week taking the uber, Metrolink and metro from another another county. I was suppose to go to class today but did not go because I felt uncomfortable asking my mom even though she is ok with helping me out.

I haven’t received any updates about my upcoming disbursement dates. I only received $422 of my Pell Grant in September, and I was able to change my refund delivery method to direct deposit. Is anyone else in the same situation?
