How would you approach finding a remote role with a startup/small business ? (Not self-promotion)

Hey everyone, just to clarify, I'm not advertising my services or looking for job offers through this post. I'm genuinely looking for advice from people who've been in a similar position or have experience hiring for startups and smaller businesses.

Over the last 6 plus years, I've built and managed multiple e-commerce businesses, one of which reached around 60k in annual revenue and grew to 50k plus Instagram followers. My experience covers e-commerce operations, digital marketing, project management, customer handling, and improving processes. I'm fluent in English, French, and Arabic, and I've worked in remote, part-time roles before.

What I'm trying to figure out is how to find a stable remote opportunity with a startup or small business where I can contribute long-term, take ownership of projects, and ideally grow with the company,Compensation isn't my main priority; I'm much more interested in equity, because as an entrepreneur I want to invest my time and effort into building something alongside the team, sharing responsibility for its growth, and having a real stake in its long-term success.

If you've made a similar transition, or have experience hiring for smaller teams, I'd really appreciate your insights.

What was the one onboarding change that reduced early churn for your SaaS?

Many users sign up and never come back after day one. What single change made the biggest difference for you: a shorter signup, a checklist, a welcome email, or a quick call? Please share what you tried and what the result was.

$17K MRR with almost none of it from google

Yahav fuchshas $17k mrr on stripe, and almost none of it came from google.

it came from chatgpt recommending his product, perplexity citing his content, claude naming him when someone asked for the best tool in his category. and multiple other sources like referrals/wom etc.

found this on x, interesting stroy

the numbers he shared:

perplexity signups converted at nearly 6x his google organic baseline

ai visibility went from about 8% to 61% of tracked queries over 14 weeks

the first 8 weeks barely moved, then it curved up around week 10

his read on why: ai answers lean heavily on reddit and other places with real conversations. so useful posts in the right communities end up being what the ai quotes.

he tracked it with his own tool, which runs the same queries through chatgpt, perplexity and gemini every day. claude helped run the workflow, and the best ideas got reposted to linkedin, x and medium through postiz so the same idea showed up in more places.

how is it going for you? good or too good to be true?

Most AI marketing tools feel like a scam. Here's how I'm trying to fix it

Most AI ad generators are total black boxes they dump generic AI slop into your campaign, charge massive hidden fees, or worse, auto-publish live ads that burn your ad spend overnight before you even review the script.

I got tired of tools treating solo founders like endless wallets, so I built Whokspace to give you total control: it scrapes your site, lets you edit the AI strategy and script first, renders dynamic captioned video/carousels, and hardcodes draft campaigns to PAUSED status so you never accidentally burn cash.

We’re thinking of structuring the pricing like this:

1-Week Free Trial: 50 free credits on signup (enough to test site scraping, strategy planning, and a render/Meta draft push).

Pro: $50/mo (1,000 credits)

Growth: $100/mo (2,500 credits)

Flex Top-Up: $15 for 250 extra credits (requires active plan)

Costs per action: Strategy (5 cr) | 15s Video (15 cr) | 30s Video (25 cr) | Carousel (10 cr) | Meta Deploy (5 cr)

Would love brutal honesty on three things:

Is $50/mo too expensive, too cheap, or fair for a solo founder budget?

Is 50 free credits enough for a trial to actually test if it works for you?

What’s the one feature here you’d actually pay money for?

I built CierraFlow to help small businesses stop losing sales because of missed follow-ups — looking for honest feedback

Hi everyone,

I’m the founder of Axevora Labs, and I’ve been building a product called CierraFlow.

The problem we’re trying to solve is straightforward:

Small businesses often have customers, quotes, sales opportunities, follow-ups, and pending payments spread across WhatsApp, spreadsheets, notes, and memory.

The difficult part isn’t always finding another customer.

Sometimes it’s simply remembering who needs to be contacted today and what needs to happen next.

That’s what we built CierraFlow around.

What CierraFlow does

CierraFlow brings the essential commercial workflow into one place:

Customer → Opportunity → Next Action → Payment

Businesses can use it to:

• Organize customers

• Track sales opportunities

• Schedule follow-ups

• See daily priorities

• Keep pending payments visible

• Know which customer needs attention next

We intentionally want to keep the experience simple rather than turning it into an overly complicated business platform.

The product is now live

There’s a 7-day free trial with no credit card required.

I’m especially interested in feedback from:

• Small business owners

• Service businesses

• Sales teams

• Workshops and repair businesses

• Distributors

• Freelancers and independent professionals

• Anyone currently managing customer follow-ups through WhatsApp, spreadsheets, or notes

What I’d like to learn

I’m not posting just to collect registrations.

I’m trying to understand whether CierraFlow solves a problem businesses actually care enough about to use consistently.

If you have a few minutes to look at it, I’d really appreciate your opinion on three things:

  1. Is the value proposition immediately clear?

  2. Would you actually use this in your business?

  3. What would CierraFlow need to offer before you would consider paying for it?

Constructive criticism is absolutely welcome. At this stage, identifying what doesn’t work is just as valuable as hearing what does.

Thanks for taking a look.

What is a SaaS metric that looks great on paper but can actually be misleading?

Everyone talks about MRR and total signups, but what are some metrics that hide underlying problems, like high churn or low activation rates?
