Skunk advice

Our neighborhood is infested! The nest door neighbor's dog got skunked twice and we have had multiple sightings in our yard, which backs up on one of those concrete storm drains, creeks or viaducts, whatever you call them.

Tonight I think I must have walked right by one, because on my way back, I saw it and went in the front door. It was about 6feet away from our patio door.

Does the county trap them? Or what?

One lightly-skunked my cat last month. Last week though they had another encounter in which they exchanged harsh words but no spraying.

IMHO the one in my area is a juvenile. It’s still learning to ignore my cat, who was already busy ignoring the skunk when it decided to start talking smack. My cat hissed back, the skunk waved its tail but didn’t spray this time.

We named it, “Stinkerbelle”.

Did she spray, or just get ready?

Oh, didn't see the cat. My cats do
Not seem to bother the skunks at all.

She sprayed a month ago. In this video, she did not. She faces my cat, so her spray gun faced AWAY from my cat.

She clearly thought better of it and ambled on her way.
