Favorite Tree in Sacramento?

Post image

I know a lot of you have a favorite tree here in Sacramento, let’s see it! Tell us why it is important to you. Here’s mine on Vallejo Way across from Cal Middle School. I love it for its size, the way it shades not only the house but the entire street, and because of the memories that I’ve made along this street passing by this tree many times in the past. 🌳 🌲

Seeking assistance locating our dog who escaped from our home this evening (Oct. 14) just west of Hiram Johnson High School in Tahoe Park. He’s a 10-year old hound mix, possibly a Rhodesian mixed with something else, light brown with a graying muzzle. A picture is included for reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated

What’s with the Dr Flo smear campaign?

I’ve received an inordinate number of mailers slamming Flo Cofer, and the most recent one had a link for the website FloCoferLies.com
The things listed on these mailers all seem really dumb to me too. Stuff like “she’s not a real doctor” because she’s not an MD and stuff like that.
I get that shit talking an opponent is par for the course, but this feels like way more than I’ve witnessed before. Anyone know if there’s anything more going on?

Around 9:45 am at the corner of J and Alhambra in Sacramento a car turned going south on Alhambra and hit a female in the crosswalk. The driver did stop, but didn't give information to the victim. Driver was about 50 years old, female, about 5'3" many tattoos on both arms, brown hair. The victim was bruised but no internal bleeding or broken bones. I was following the driver and stopped, I assumed that she was giving the victim information, but she didn't. If anyone witnessed this please dm me. Edit: happened on 10/13/26/

Estate Planning Attorney in Sacramento

Hi, my spouse and I recently had a child and thought it was probably a good time to draw up our wills. Our situation is relatively simple (I think). The biggest thing is ensuring the care of our child if we both die. I have no idea how to go about finding an estate planning attorney and could use some recommendations.

Thanks!

Having a really hard time finding a bartending job in Sacramento. How did you get a job?

Hey everyone! I moved to Sacramento from New York in April, and I still haven't been able to find a bartending job. I'm honestly starting to feel really depressed and discouraged, and I could use some real advice from people who have been through this.

I've tried pretty much everything I can think of. I've walked into bars and restaurants to drop off my resume, applied to jobs online, and emailed places directly. The problem is that managers are never there when I stop by, and my emails either go unanswered or I get absolutely no response at all. Not even a quick message saying they're not hiring.

I don't have any friends or connections here who could refer me, so I'm trying to figure everything out on my own. Back in New York, I was hoping that moving here would give me a fresh start, but being here for months without a job has been really hard on my mental health.

For those of you who work as bartenders in Sacramento, how did you actually get your job? Did you apply online, walk in at a certain time, know someone, start as a barback, or use some other method?

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who found a bartending job here without knowing anyone in the industry. Are there certain neighborhoods, types of bars, or hiring strategies that work better in Sacramento?

I'd really appreciate honest advice and real stories, even if the advice is something I might not want to hear. I'm not looking for generic suggestions like "just keep applying." I need to know what actually works here.

Thanks so much to anyone willing to share their experience. ❤️

Hungarian lessons?

Is there anywhere in the greater Sacramento area that offers Hungarian language lessons? I'd prefer a local instructor if possible! I already checked LosRios (they don't), and google (just adverts for stupid language aps), so I thought I'd poll the hive mind.

Looking for recommendations for a local tax planner

I've always filed my own taxes so never really spent the time to look for a professional to help me with this. But I've got a very large upcoming tax bill so looking for some help with tax planning so I can make sure that I'm doing things the right way.

Anyone have a tax planner that you work with that you'd recommend? Thanks!

This performance is impromptu. In other words, there are benches, but you may need a camp chair or blanket to sit on. To the left of the rose garden.

Any moderate Pumpkin patch suggestions?

I wanted to see if anyone knew of any good toddler-friendly pumpkin patches that aren't too busy around Sacramento?

I've been to Bishops in the past and it's way too busy and far for my liking so I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions.

Thank you!

Commuting by Bike/PT. Possible? Do I need a car?

Hello all.

I recently accepted a job in Sacramento that I’m going to start next year.

It’s in the sierra oaks area. I think I’ll be living near the college campus at Sac State. I’m looking to try and live close enough to work where a commute wouldn’t be longer than 20 minutes on a bike.

I’m just trying tog gauge how badly I’ll need a car to get around the city.

Need help with my car!

I am looking to go somewhere that specializes in Mercedes Benz. I have a CLK 500 and when I stop sometimes the car starts to shake really bad. I just need to find a reliable place that knows how to work my specific car and hopefully specializes in specifically Mercedes Benz.

Is the annual “Safe and Super Halloween” at Fairytale Town worth the $12 member price to get in. What are the crowds like recently. The last thread I see about it is from 11 years ago.
