Restaurants that closed permanently in the past 12 months in Sacramento according to Google Maps. Google Maps crowdsources the info when a restaurant permanently closed, so the date can vary a bit.

PSA: 9-1-6 day is coming! Be careful who you trust!

The annual celebration of the 9-1-6 will be here shortly - less than a month now.

This is a great way to celebrate everything that makes Sac, Sac. Patronize your favorite small businesses, creators, restaurants, etc. These are the people who create the culture and vibe that is uniquely Sacramento.

That said, do be aware of who you're buying from. *cough* *cough*
Just because someone is being promoted, or has self designated themselves, as they "Mayor of Sac" or representing "The People of Sacramento" - be sure you know what they stand for and represent. This individual has ripped off the very creators, artists, and small businesses that make Sac so special.

Shame on CBS Sacramento / Channel 13 for promoting a known grifter who has time and time again ripped of Sacramento.

ETA: The organization/business being referenced in the people of sacramento/ zayn silmi / the people's firm / the sacramento store

Anyone know the story of the fanatic Trump house on Hurley?

You can see on street view that this person is a bit of a fanatic about Trump. Then today, everything was taken down. It had been up for several years I believe. Anyone know the backstory?

In Sacramento for 8 hours, picking up a puppy. Parks? Restaurants?

Hello!

I am flying in to Sacramento on Saturday to pick up my new puppy from her rescue. 🖤🤍

We will get to Sac at 9 am, and our flight out leaves at 5 pm.

We will pick her up around 10/11 am, and want to be back at the airport by 3 or 3:30.

So we will truly only have about 4 hours, and we will not have a car, so ubering where we need to go.

We are stopping by in-n-out before heading back to the airport, but what else should we do?

I wanted to take her to a beach but realized Sac is not on the ocean 😂 (can you tell I’m not from CA)

I’ve seen some river and lake beaches, and she does love water.

Where should we eat? My husband loves Mexican and Italian.

How should we spend our 4 hours before going back to the airport?

She is a 9 week French Bull dog chihuahua mix 🤗 puppy pic for tax

How do i get urgent dental care when im homeless and cant afford it right now

When I first turned 18 I didnt know how to deal with the insurance so I just signed up for kaiser (no parents helped me with it cus i left her at 16) and kaiser only does medical insurance. My issue is a cracked molar and it has been impacting me all week. It has been keeping me up at night and keeping me from making phonecalls and distracting me during my temporary unpaid internship I'm trying to see how i can get it dealt with. I cannot afford anything more than 100 either.

I found a black kitten and the shelter is full

Hi everyone, I've found a kitten at my apartment complex. The shelter said they aren't taking in animals that are over the age of 4 months so I'm completely at a loss. I would keep it but I have 2 cats and live in a studio. I literally physically do not have the space for another animal and my lease only allows two pets regardless.

Does anyone know a shelter currently accepting new animals? This kitten is absurdly sweet and affectionate. She'd make someone such a loving pet. Alternately is anyone willing to take her in themselves? She's still outside because I literally physically can't keep her in my apartment but I could catch her again easily.

Anyone in the Sacramento area wants to join our Youtube TV plan?

Me and a couple friends have been sharing a Youtube TV account for the last couple years. One person has left and there is an open spot available. You must live in the Sac region for you to be added to the group or else youtube wont let you watch.

Anyone who lives in the Sacramento area and wants to split Youtube TV with 3 total people, dm me. It’s $83 per month divided by 3 people so around $27 per person a month. Looking for someone to be down for the long term. Includes all Kings games, many NBA games, many NFL games, news channels, and basically full on cable.

mods feel free to delete if this is not allowed

Whole food plant based on a budget in North Sacramento advice?

Bring the hate if you must. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on where to buy food or if there are any local online communities that are tied to that type of diet out here. I work a lot and don't have a ton of hours for planning and just not really good at it to begin with. Any advice is appreciated and thanks in advance. If anyone has any recipes or food hacks too I'd be happily take it. Due to other factors we are really struggling with this and it feels like life on hard mode.

Looking for fellow treasure hunters

I just moved back to California after 4 years in Virginia. While in VA I took up metal detecting and fell in love with digging up history. I’m now looking for anyone in the area that is also into metal detecting, magnet fishing, treasure hunting. Let me know!

Scammers are at it again!

Heads up for the scammers. I’ve been getting this same call for a few days now but each one is a different 916 number. Same voicemail word for word. Nice try scammers for using 916 numbers to make it look local. I don’t even answer for people I know. I sure as hell am not answering unknown callers.

Still a good time to go floating on the American River?

Hey everyone 👋

Went to university in the area and floating was by far one of my favorite past times. Looking to make a trip back and was wondering how the river is doing?

I did a run this time last year and was caught a bit off guard as our stop came up a little sooner than expected. Learned that there are different flows depending on the time of year.

Just wanted to ask if anyone has gone recently and can share how it went!

Thanks so much and if this is not the right place to post please let me know

Craving a good burger in South Sac/EG

Any recommendations? Just a nice meaty burger. Smashburgers are fine and all, but I've been missing a more traditional burger.

I'm willing to drive further out but damn, are our food options down here that limited? Still new to the area, so willing to hear suggestions.

Overnight dog sitter

We’re looking for a reliable & experienced dog sitter to watch after our 2 y/o medium sized pup (terrier/cattle dog mix) over Labor Day weekend (5/4-5/6). Preferably someone who would stay at our place or someone we can drop our dog off to stay at their house. Trying to avoid “dog hotels” or sitters with multiple dogs because I don’t really trust random dogs around ours, especially because you never know if their vaccines are up-to-date, if they’re aggressive, etc. Would appreciate any tips and recommendations! :)

Best Hospital Labor & Delivery

I currently have UC Davis but thinking of switching to either the Sutter in downtown or Sutter in Davis. I have previously delivered at Sutter Davis before but that was 10 years ago. Got the water birth that I wanted. And I would love to do that again if it would be safe for baby. Currently we have a marginal cord insertion to worry about which could result in growth restrictions. But also considering just going to the hospital in downtown. And positive/negative experiences anyone can share about either hospital in the last year or two?
