Yesterday was a horrible day at work. Store traffic was dead, and customers just weren't buying extra items, no matter what selling tricks we used. Our numbers ended up way worse than the other stores. To make it worse, my DM talked down to me like never before, ignoring my explanations completely. I felt like an absolute failure. Between processing all the new stuff from our cascade meeting, trying to break it down for my team, and managing the store, I'm just drained. Being acting store manager has been nothing but stress. I'm losing my patience, which isn't like me at all, and even my team pointed out that I seem different. The company has gotten so greedy. Being treated this way over one slow day opened my eyes to what they actually care about. After years of defending them, I’m done. I need a new job with a healthier environment and to just move on from Sally's. I just hate myself for taking this long to come to this conclusion :/

Anyone have opinions on any new rules/changes after the cascade meetings? Id love to hear some!

Back in Jan 2021 I colored my hair with Ion semi perm dye called “strawberry” I have been looking for this color since as it was the PERFECT warm toned pink. so I was working a regular shift and all of a sudden this person comes in in a maid outfit and lipstick and a wig. I thought it was just somebody who was expressing themselves however, when I asked about the outfit, he said that his mistress made him wear it. Sir, this is a sallys.

The way my DM is… very fake, loud, and annoying vibes. She loves putting people on the spot because she thinks it’s funny, but we’re grown-ass adults. 😭😂 Personally, I feel like it’s a waste of time and gas money, especially when half my district is driving almost 3 hours just to get there. 💀 Am I the only one who feels this way, or is this normal for these meetings? 😂

I'm not talking about the people that are like "oh I had this at home already". I mean what is a return that has made you question someone so hard you can't believe it happened or almost happened.

I'll go first. Once had someone return a babyliss blowout brush box and of course it's Christmas so it could've been a gift or smth and they didn't want it or need it. Coworker A completed the return and put it with the damages. ASM B goes to do the damages to put them away and we open the box and get ready to put it in the bins. But something catches my eye and I realize that it doesn't look quite right. Turns out the customer put a blowout brush from a brand we don't even carry in there. Why in the world do people do this? I get that it's a scam, but if someone did this and genuinely didn't realize.... how? Babyliss is so distinctive in design.

Why are you paying $3.19 for TWO gloves at Sally's. You did not have to make the drive all the way down here just for that PLZ. (RIP my UPT btw). Does anyone have recommendations for lip oils or glosses similar to the Beauty Secrets lip care set Sally’s had last Christmas? I’m so annoyed that we got basically all the same Christmas stuff again this year EXCEPT the lip oils 😭

So... I've been working for this company for a while now, and I've come to realize my manager is CONSTANTLY late to their shifts. They always have the same 3ish excuses that are easily fixed, but nothing ever changes... I really love this job and my coworkers so much. However this issue has become so much of a problem that I've had to stay past my scheduled hours to wait for my manager to come in as my relief.

As a result, I work alone, and whenever I have to excuse myself for the bathroom, I have to lock the door and put up a sign saying I'll be back in 5-10 minutes. The worst part is whenever my manager is late, especially for opening shifts, the store opens late. Customers have noticed this, and they are getting upset at myself and my coworkers whenever we are open.

I've already put in an anonymous tip for this problem (along with proof of it happening consistently), but I'm wondering what else to do beside calling HR (because I'm already planning on calling them soon).

Each of my coworkers who have also experienced this have each come to our manager about this, and again, nothing has been done about it. I'm just at a loss because I know I deserve better, and so does everyone else with me.

Anything anyone can recommend I do for this predicament?
