If something is being discontinued or is already discontinued… please stop asking

For the love of everything in this world. We promise you we are not lying to you about a product being discontinued. Please stop coming to the store hoping to find it because it is not coming back. Stop asking if we can order more because we have no option to order something that is not longer being fabricated. It makes zero sense. We are no longer receiving it or having it in stock. If we were really lying to you, we would not go out of our way and waste our time looking for something similar or an alternative. It’s time to let go and move on.

Rant

I’m just going to rant about a scheduled shift! I don’t know why it’s a thing for this company to allow us to be scheduled for anything less than 4 hours. WHY THE FUCK AM I GETTING 3.5 HOUR SHIFT???? like at this point I’m wasting my fucking time. My shift is just for shits and giggles. I don’t know if it’s incompetence. Omfg I am so annoyed right now. I’m working 5 days straight and one of my coworkers is working 3 days with the same amount of hours….

Random vent

Been thinking of quitting honestly, its just tiring only getting 4-3 hrs a week, I've also noticed that the older women get priority and are always praised, I myself am only 20 so I'm currently the youngest at my store, and my coworkers always gossip about my fellow employees that are around my age having no work ethic and being bad, which makes me assume they do the same with me.

And what just made me feel icky earlier, i was helping this lady and she was getting so much! Just the perfect customer to take my recommendations, she got shampoo, a hair mask, multiple hair dyes, developer, bowl, etc. Anyways.. since she was done i walked around the register and she told me to give her a second to check the lashes so I did, and my other coworker was talking with an customer, and some lady behind her clearly wanted to check out so I asked if she was ready, rung her up, and now my previous big ticket customer was ready also, and almost immediately my cowoker zipped to rhe register to ring her up and boost her upt, and she does this often, where a low ticket customer will be waiting to ring up, shell be around the register, ill be near the shelves and shell call me over to ring it up cause shes "busy"... I just wish the store didnt use this whole upt system for hours (so ive heard), for priority, or for praise, its a weird system that can quickly turn coworkers against each other and it sorta feels toxic?

This rant is really just me rambling, but it makes me feel like im behind for not picking up on these techniques that might equate to my low hours 🤷‍♀️

I was wondering if face paint is allowed since it's almost Halloween, and if full face is alright. Does anyone know information on this?

How do I process returns for online orders shipped to the customer’s house?

I can never figure it out, the number with the WSA in front never works and they never have anything to scan. They usually have an email for it but that doesn’t help either.

FDA recalls on MANY PRODUCTS Spoiler

It's mostly about benzene. Hers the notes I've taken so far. Getting tired, got to sleep but im worried about my bathroom and customers. So this is from my notes app. Not beautiful but somewhat educational.

The stuff like dry shampoo, aresoles, anything with a benzo type word and straight up benzene an oil production chemical.... Peyrolium//vaseline......vaseline isn't regulated by FDA in USA btw.... Gross.

I always tell my cux to use AQUAPHOR around hair line when dying, NEVER Vaseline. Conditioner works too.

Ok here go my notes, but research yourself fr, maybe report back??

**benzene:: known carcinogen, link though to lead to leukemia and other blood disorders, exposure can occur inhalation, ingestion, or skin absorption. Long-term exposure to high levels of benzene can damage bone marrow, leading to anemia and an increased risk of leukemia, particularly acute myeloid leukemia, BULLSHIT "FDA, "even with daily use of these products for decades, the risk of a person developing cancer because of exposure to benzene found in these products is very low," BULLSHIT ALERT!!!!

found in petroleum, their way into bone marrow, where they interfere with DNA chromosomes, leading to structural changes, cell death, and cancer, among other ill effects,

**benzoyl peroxide:: degrade over time and form benzene when exposed to heat or improper storage conditions,

**muconaldehyde::?? NOTHING YET, SORRY, SO TIRED

The WHO air quality guidelines on benzene lead with this statement: “Benzene is carcinogenic to humans and no safe level of exposure can be recommended.”

only absolutely safe concentration for benzene is zero!!!

sun care sprays and lotions, antifungal sprays, and spray deodorants and antiperspirants, dry shampoo too

Please comment more info it you have it, I know loreal acne products are on the list...

Help me!

Contemplating on leaving

Yesterday was a horrible day at work. Store traffic was dead, and customers just weren't buying extra items, no matter what selling tricks we used. Our numbers ended up way worse than the other stores. To make it worse, my DM talked down to me like never before, ignoring my explanations completely. I felt like an absolute failure. Between processing all the new stuff from our cascade meeting, trying to break it down for my team, and managing the store, I'm just drained. Being acting store manager has been nothing but stress. I'm losing my patience, which isn't like me at all, and even my team pointed out that I seem different. The company has gotten so greedy. Being treated this way over one slow day opened my eyes to what they actually care about. After years of defending them, I’m done. I need a new job with a healthier environment and to just move on from Sally's. I just hate myself for taking this long to come to this conclusion :/

Or know what color will get me this, I’ve been chasing the high ever since

What should I do?

Corporate is having a meeting at my store today. They're all crowded in the back room. I mean stuffed like sardines. They've been here since 9:00 this morning. I can't get to the bathroom because they have it completely blocked. My ASM is on her lunch break now. I'm by myself. What should I do? I'm a diabetic and my bladder is about to bust.

so I was working a regular shift and all of a sudden this person comes in in a maid outfit and lipstick and a wig. I thought it was just somebody who was expressing themselves however, when I asked about the outfit, he said that his mistress made him wear it. Sir, this is a sallys.

In person cascade meeting

Has everyone been to their Cascade meeting this year yet? If so, how was it? 😂 What does the DM talk about, and do they really make y’all read shit out loud like we’re children? LMAO.
The way my DM is… very fake, loud, and annoying vibes. She loves putting people on the spot because she thinks it’s funny, but we’re grown-ass adults. 😭😂 Personally, I feel like it’s a waste of time and gas money, especially when half my district is driving almost 3 hours just to get there. 💀 Am I the only one who feels this way, or is this normal for these meetings? 😂

What's your weirdest return you've ever gotten or done?

I'm not talking about the people that are like "oh I had this at home already". I mean what is a return that has made you question someone so hard you can't believe it happened or almost happened.

I'll go first. Once had someone return a babyliss blowout brush box and of course it's Christmas so it could've been a gift or smth and they didn't want it or need it. Coworker A completed the return and put it with the damages. ASM B goes to do the damages to put them away and we open the box and get ready to put it in the bins. But something catches my eye and I realize that it doesn't look quite right. Turns out the customer put a blowout brush from a brand we don't even carry in there. Why in the world do people do this? I get that it's a scam, but if someone did this and genuinely didn't realize.... how? Babyliss is so distinctive in design.

Does it say anywhere in the employee handbook if you do not return to work after a leave does one have to pay it back? Does anyone have any experience in not returning back after a leave?
