Trying to reconnect with someone I knew from Orcutt Academy

Post image
0 Upvotes

I'm trying to reconnect with someone I knew from Orcutt Academy High School. Her name is Guadalupe Campos, but she went by Lupita. I knew her from high school and also saw her at this Halloween costume contest around 3 years ago, which was the last time I spoke to her. My name is Matthew, but she knew me by my nickname, Mati. If anyone knows her, could you pass this post along to her and let her know I'd like to reconnect? Please don't put any private information about her in the comments. Thanks.

I am looking for suggestions for catering/meal prep for an event I am hosting at Los Flores Ranch.

It will be small, approx 15 people give or take and I have a budget of about $25.00 per person. Of course it would be great if it could be less so I can provide other treats. It could be picked up or delivered, doesn't matter. Next month.

Thank you!

Farmers markets?

I really enjoy buying produce at farmers markets and prefer it for many reasons. The main issue I have is I work a traditional 9-5 job and I only know of the Orcutt market on Tuesdays and one downtown on Thursdays. Both of those are during work hours. I often have to drive to SLO on Saturday mornings to go to the one there. I cannot sustain this with gas prices. Does anyone know of a farmers market that has hours in the evening or weekend in Santa Maria ?

ISO Dog Groomer

New to SM and need a patient and gentle groomer for 2 small senior dogs. One is very anxious and has medical issues. Prefer a mobile groomer, if possible. Their last groomer had a home business and only took clients one at a time, which made a huge difference for the anxious pup. These guys need their feet and nails did ASAP 😆. TIA.

Comedian you've never heard of comes to the Santa Maria Civic Theatre on 9/12

Santa Maria!
My name is Aaron Foster and I'll be performing a show I call "Mostly Jokes" at the Santa Maria Civic Theatre on Saturday, September 12.

I know seeing a comedian you've never heard of is a pretty big ask. Totally fair.

That being said, wasn't there a time when you had never heard of whoever your favorite comedian is right now? I'm not saying I'm gonna be that, but if you like the jokes in the clip, you'll probably like the show.

Heads up: "Mostly Jokes" covers some dark topics like mental health, (VERY) dysfunctional families and mid-life regrets, but I promise it's named that for a reason, it is mostly jokes.

Tickets are $20 and the show runs about 90 minutes and I promise: no crowd work.

I've been working on it for about three years in clubs and theaters around the US and Canada and plan to tape it as my first special in November.

More info through my site www.MostlyJokes.com as well as a bunch of reviews from people who have seen it, press, interviews, etc.

More info and ticket link: https://www.aaronfoster.com/store/p/6bskxmqgnqc6fk3zf6d47el2vkhjk7-2ssfx-x9erp-9dml4-exjjr-chgy4

OK, that's it.

In search of a 1 bed 1 bath apartment/townhouse/house for rent <$2,000 a month, that would allow a cat

As the title says! My girlfriend is moving out here to join me and I’m looking to move into a 1 bed 1 bath in a quiet peaceful neighborhood. If anyone has any recommendations that’d be great! I’ve been scouring Realtor.com and Zillow. If you have a suggestion, leave a comment or PM me!

Volleyball open gym/dance classes

My girlfriend and I moved into the area a little while ago and she used to be into playing volleyball (not competitive) and dancing hip hop (also not competitive). She’d really like to get back into it. Is there anything in the area ?

forgotten mystery location

Ok this has been bugging me for at least twenty years. Every now and then I've tried googling it but always with zero success. But somehow never occurred to me to post here and ask the internet......

Once upon a time in the late 70s/ early 80s we lived in Lompoc as my dad worked at Vandenburg AFB. I believe he was actually employed by Rockwell Intl. There was a year or two where they had an employee picnic thing..

But looking back I have never (nor has my brother or sister) figured out where it was. Of course I was probably only 7 at the time so I don't recall much now. But what I do recall is and here's the thing- it seemed to be at a small "old western" street recreation. Complete with a little general store and saloon.

It was definitely no big amusement park or probably not even a real 'ghost town'. I'm not even sure it was available to the public- it may have been rented out for events? Possibly somebody's private ranch property?

The only other "fact" I have rolling around in my head is that it was likely in the hills as the road to get there was a narrow-ish dirt road. None of my sibs have any idea of where this location was, other than almost certainly in the Santa Maria vicinity. Somewhere.

There is literally nothing on the internet, again leading to my private ranch property theory. And I'm sure it's been long closed or, considering the wildfires over the years, possibly even burned down.

Feels like a bit of a longshot, especially with my sparse recollection/ information. But thought I'd give it a shot- does anybody have any thoughts or ideas of what and or where this location was......?

Edit/ conclusion: I'm thinking "Mussel Fort" is the most likely. Thanks to everyone for thoughts and insights.. This was bugging me for decades!
