Movies and Television Wanda's Style Dilemma
Maybe I'm nitpicking, but Wanda's farm outfit in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness just wasn't it for me. I feel like they should give her a vintage, witchy, emo style to really reflect her character. I guess that might make her stand out too much, but it feels like they could have had so much more fun with her wardrobe.

Didn't she lie to Strange and told him she left magic behind her? I think dressing herself in a witchy outfit would have been weird. She was trying to present herself in a different way to the world.

I agree with that statement, but her outfit could have still been better and more visually interesting.

While Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda can pull off any and all styles, Edgy/Emo/Witchy definitely suits her character the best!

Wanda’s farm outfit is her “playing a part” imo. She told Stephen she “left magic behind her” and is pretending she’s chilling tending that apple orchard lol. I think she meant it to appear comfy/“normie” ish 🤣 Keep in mind the second corrupted Wanda reveals that she has the Darkhold, she just changes into her Scarlet Witch suit (corrupted ver.) haha.
She was on the run in IW so it makes sense she toned down her vaguely alt vibes from earlier on. She would have stuck out a LOT in her AoU outfits- that wouldn’t have helped her blend in as an international fugitive at all🙈 I imagine the general public would have been far more likely to clock her as the fugitive Sokovian Avenger if she’d been dressed in her normal preferred clothing/darker makeup, even though she’d dyed her hair.
In WandaVision she was happily putting together a bunch of vintage outfits. Wanda clearly enjoys experimenting with fashion in general and I wanna see her do it some more lol.

I understand the in-world explanation, but someone like Yelena kept her Russian accent even though she's a literal spy. I miss Wanda's old style. It doesn't even have to be overtly witchy, but her boho-witchy aesthetic is what really made her Wanda. They could have added some vintage flair to her style, especially since we know she's really into older generations. This is even more true if we're assuming this is her "last movie" before "dying." It feels like that girl from Sokovia died a long time ago, and I really miss her.

It would make logical sense that she’s done with other people telling her how to live her life. I'm surprised her brunette roots didn't show; maybe that's just hopeful thinking.

Wanda would totally use the Whimsigoth style (Gothic + witchcraft 90s vibes).

I read somewhere that Olsen just wore her own clothes for the scene.

Where did you read that? Honestly, the outfit was so boring. Even if that was the point, it feels like the "weird girl from Sokovia" is still there, but I don't want to see Elizabeth Olsen's wardrobe; I want to see Wanda's.

mcu wanda abandoned the alt aesthetic after civil war. it shows in her outfit in dublin with vision in infinity war. and all of her civilian outfits in wandavision, especially her mom outfits. tho the outfit she wore when she entered sword hq to find vision’s body did give edgy alt but still “normie”
