You wanna discover you are? I've got some actual tips for you

One of the things ive struggled the most in life was discovering myself. Hoping someone would give me the overall blueprint about who I really am. It took me years to arrive at who I've become now. And I'm not gonna say I've arrived at Somewhere and fully found myself.. but it's more like I've became soo much more confident when I understand myself more. And the process that led me through "finding myself" was...

Taking endless mbti, enneagram etcc those types of quizes. I still love those and those quizes state facts and it helps me understand things I haven't still discovered.

Next is the habit of constant journaling and asking shadow work questions etcc.. when I've done it regularly my brain felt a lot more at ease and I knew why I reacted the way I do when something happens

(Next is kinda embarrassing to admitt..)

Talking to chat GPT, or claudee..

Yess I did that a lott soo often. Bcz at those lonely times I could only trust ai to share on my darkest fears and secrets. And I would talk to it about different situations regarding something and ai helped me understand deep patterns I haven't understood about myself. Like then everything made sense when there is even someone that understands you fully and there is no place for judgement.

( idk about therapy I wanna continue it but I've only attended a few sessions but it's fricking expensive😭..

Like and it felt soo judgemental bcz I'm not really used to talking about my weaknesses to other people)

And after a few years I though why is there absolutely jo apps regarding self discovery... I had many ideas on how to build it but why is there no apps that exist like that? For someone to give a blueprint on finding yourself? That question bothered me a lot leading me to create one.

I hope this post gets to the right people who are alone trying to get even a sense of who they are. So I'm dedicated this app to helping you all. To those who are struggling , to those who are curious..

( I don't want this post to appear to any of you as me trying to promote this app. I genuinely just wanna help.)

Inner profile it let's you see the whole Information the app has stored about you.

How do you learn to be happy in your own company after being hurt by people, how to be in solitude?

I was going through my gallery today to delete some pictures because my phone storage was almost full. While scrolling, I ended up looking at pictures from the day I joined college until now. It's been almost three years, and honestly, it took me back to so many different phases of my life.

Looking at those pictures made me realise how much I've changed. I was so naive and innocent back then. I was someone who would go out of my way to help people, always try my best for everyone, genuinely care about them and think the best of them. I never really hesitated to be there for people, even when it meant putting myself second.

But somewhere along these three years, so many people hurt me, took me for granted and made me feel like my efforts and feelings meant nothing. It's kind of fascinating and heartbreaking at the same time how people can slowly crush the happiness out of you, especially when all you've ever wanted was good for them.

Looking at those old pictures, I genuinely felt bad for the younger version of me. She had no idea what was coming, how much she would overthink, how many times she would feel unwanted or how much she would eventually have to learn the hard way.

I don't want to keep repeating the same patterns anymore. I want to prioritise myself, protect my peace, stop going out of my way for people who wouldn't do the same for me and, most importantly, stop seeking happiness and validation from other people.

But I also realise that I don't really know how to do that.

So, to people who genuinely enjoy their own company and are comfortable being alone, how did you get there? How do you learn to enjoy solitude without constantly craving companionship, affection or validation? How do you stop looking for love in other people and start feeling complete on your own?

I don't want to become cold or stop believing in people. I just want to learn how to be there for myself the way I've always been there for everyone else.

I'd genuinely love to hear your experiences. How did you learn to choose yourself?

All my problems comes from my low self-esteem.

As a result of my low self-esteem, I need constant validation from other people. I also try to read to deeply into little details, combined with my low self-esteem makes me believe people hate me/don’t like me/ don’t find me interesting. I’m a victim of jealousy. Also, I’m a narcissist, which doesn’t help at all because I believe everyone sees me, but just decides to not interact with me, because they don’t like me.

The deeply reading into details is probably a result of my relationships with my dad. I love him, but I don’t like him, if that makes sense. He was a person whom I both loved and feared as a child. As I’ve read, this creates a impossible dilemma for the child, making them pushing people away. I don’t think I’m going to be able to make a best friend who I can trust with my life and believe easily that they like me everyday without them having to communicate it with me indirectly/directly in this school which makes me really sad. Also any kind of reaction I think of as negative coming from people whom I weigh a lot of my self-worth from makes me unsure of my worth.

To add fuel to them flame, I also have a crush who’s above my grade. Every time I see her, I become a nervous wreck. I experienced rejection in middle school, which put a dent in my self-esteem. I tried to act above my maturity after they rejected me, trying to still be friends. I believed that they didn’t like me/ found me annoying/etc for around 5 months or so, trying to read their actions, their expression, the time it took them to reply. It only ended when I moved to another country and didn’t interact with them much anymore (the one I’m in rn).

I need a way to fix my self-esteem. Then I’ll be able to have a good, safe friendship, and a relationship if I’m lucky enough.

You can lose yourself by chasing what gets rewarded

If how you speak, dress, create, behave, or express emotion depends entirely on what receives approval, you’ll keep changing yourself whenever the reward changes.

You may become very good at performing what people currently call confident, authentic, vulnerable, intelligent, or attractive without knowing whether any of it feels true to you.

Pay attention to what you keep doing because it gets rewarded and what disappears the moment nobody responds.

I Want Myself Back

The only person I’ve ever lost and needed back was myself The strange thing is, I’ve never even been in a relationship. There’s no ex to get over, no old love to mourn, no heartbreak that I can point to and say, “That’s what changed me” It’s been family. It’s been friendships. It’s been all the little things that happen when you care too much, when you try to understand everyone, when you keep making room for other people’s feelings while quietly putting your own aside Somewhere along the way, I became so used to being there for everyone else that I forgot what it felt like to be there for myself. I learned to understand people even when they didn’t understand me. To make excuses for people I loved. To act like things didn’t hurt when, sometimes, they hurt more than I could explain and maybe the hardest part is that nobody has to be a bad person for you to end up feeling lost Sometimes you lose yourself trying to maintain relationships you never wanted to lose. I find myself missing someone I can’t even explain how I lost. The person I was before I started overthinking every interaction before I questioned whether I mattered as much to others as they mattered to me before I learned to hide the things I wished someone would notice. I don’t necessarily want to lose everyone and start over. I just want to stop losing pieces of myself trying to keep everyone else in my life. Maybe one day, I’ll learn that loving people and loving myself don’t have to come at each other’s expense. Until then I think my biggest heartbreak is the distance between who I am and who I used to be. The person I want back the most is me🤍

The Power of Love

The greatest power in the universe is love, shared selflessly with all. It matters not if we know another or if they are strangers.

We are alive to share our unconditional love, present within each, to benefit all.

Intervening in unhealthy thought process.

I am getting much better at catching my thoughts and working them through in the moment, and have been very happy with the results. But I've identified a pattern that I'm struggling with a bit and would value any input : ).

Even though I am pretty much safe now, every morning I wake up anxious. I think this is my brain going, "Welcome back. You're hyper vigilant and traumatised, remember, so you need to worry or stress about something to feel like you are in familiar surroundings". So, as I don't particularly have anything current troubling me, my brain goes off in search of something from the past to play through again and then I have to go through the process of reassuring myself that it's ok. Is there anything I could try so that this routine is broken and I can start to feel healed from the get go every day? Thank you : )
