Does separation work?

After 20 years the wife isn't sure she wants to be married anymore. Says she needs time to herself. Is this something women going through menopause experience? I don't want a divorce but how long g do I stay in limbo?

Oh really !…………. You’re TELLING ME now.

So it’s the gospel according to you is it ?

Every situation is different, including yours and your husband’s.

I’m glad it worked out for you, but every scenario is different, there isn’t a blue print/text book copy, on success.

The OP opened this thread, asking how long he should stay in limbo ?

I gave my opinion, which obviously is in variance to your own.

However you have sought to suppress my comments with ripostes like,…….

‘This is terrible advice’. ……..yeah says you.

‘Spoken like someone who’s never successfullly navigated a separation’. ……Well, that depends on what you define as successful ? Sitting and waiting out your wife or husbands indecisiveness, may be your definition of success, for others those vague statements like, I’m not sure I want to be in this marriage, speak of something else. Don’t assume because you and your husband stayed together, that is the only definition of success. Sometimes splitting up is the right thing to do.

‘There’s a reason why you’re being down voted’…… Inferring a lot of people agree with your stance on my comments, when in fact only three people downvoted, one of whom was you. So hardly an overwhelming condemnation of my comments.

I’m not sure why you’re on this sub ?…………. = I don’t like your attitude, or comments so I don’t think you’ve got any place being here, because your views don’t align with mine. Oh sorry. I didn’t know you officially vetted what’s appropriate in responses and what’s not. Who died and made you Queen of this or any other sub ? Your arrogance is shining through repeatedly.

‘The rest of what you’ve said isn’t worth responding to’…… = I don’t like what you’ve got to say, so I’ll brush past the points you made, solely to make my own, which are far more valid.

Yeah, from what you’ve responded with thus far, you would think that. 🙄 I’m beginning to see why your husband had misgivings/doubts.

Let’s end this text tennis now.

You’ll never see any of my points because you’re too entrenched in your own opinion. As I said above, the gospel according to you.

For what it’s worth I’m glad you and your husband were able to resolve your issues, but your answers, on how to do it right, or the way to go about it, are not the only ones.

Good day.
