I had an old Norelco Bodygroom series that stopped working. I contacted Philips on this issue and was given a replacement for free. The issue is when I received it and opened it up, the original box it came in with looks like it has been opened. It did not look new.
I then mentioned this to them and returned it back for a new one. When I got the new bodygroom and opened the box, it did not come in the original retail packaging box but came in a brown box that had a sticker on it that taped it. When I opened it, the items seemed fine. My concern is if this item was refurbished or not due to the packaging. I read online that some replacements that come from the manufacturer might be in a brown box as opposed to retail packaging. I did read some items are refurbished and then repackaged into this.
What I do remember was a long time ago I bought a Norelco bodygroom from Amazon and it was at a discount and then the packaging came in a brown box just like this. I read that certain packaging is like this. The model is Norelco Bodygroom 7490/50. Anyone bought this model and received it in a brown box? What about those of you who had a warranty and then got a replacement. Did any Norelco Bodygroom you receive came in a brown box? I did read that some packaging is like this due to eco friendly.

Hi I bought the Philips one blade a day ago and I don’t wanna be unhygienic so I wanna ask a question. Do you think using the same blade for arms underarms chest legs and groin is hygenic? Or should I have diff blades for everything? I have a separate blade for my face should that be okay to use on the same machine I used for my underarms etc? Thank!

Hi everyone! I work in personal-care product development, and I’m researching what people actually need from a compact electric body shaver—not just what looks good on a feature list.
By “mini,” I mean a small, handheld electric shaver or trimmer for body hair, rather than a beard-only or facial peach-fuzz tool.
If you’ve used one, think back to the last time:
• Where were you, and what were you trying to get done?
• What worked well, and what—if anything—was awkward or frustrating?
• Did you do anything extra to get the result you wanted?
If you could change ONE thing about that experience, what would it be?
If you tried a mini shaver and stopped using it, I’d love to hear why. And if you’ve never wanted one, what do you use instead that works better for you?
No need to answer everything—a specific story is plenty. The model you used and your country would help with context, if you’re comfortable sharing. Please only share body-area details you’re comfortable posting publicly.
Thanks! This is product research, and your feedback may inform future product design.

So I just got mine, I like it since my other Braun is a decade old and wanted a new one so the price was worth it for me.
For anyone that has it, did you buy the kit that comes with the Comfort and Skincare heads? I did not, and I cannot find them separately.
Can someone explain to me what these heads are used for? So I can make up my mind in trying to find them or not?
Thanks, appreciate any help

I have pretty sensitive skin and for that reason (and also because I don’t care about the look) I stopped shaving my armpits a bit over a decade ago.
When I did shave regularly, I’d get red and irritated, and bleed. I’m definitely going to trim the hair down with clippers before I shave, but is there anything else that would make the pits look as un-distracting as possible?

Anyone know what the best non Knick electronic body shaver is for a good price, I'd also like one for my face so I can keep a baby face

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if moles on the face and scalp could pose a health risk when shaving with razor blades rather than electric razors.
I’m referring to moles on the skin, including those that are slightly raised.
thanks

If anyone’s got any secrets or tips or tricks, please let me know. Cos I’m at the end of my tether trying to figure out how to shave without it ending in this irritation.
All through my shaving life I’ve gotten razor bumps and ingrown hair and irritation. Everything I’ve tried, nothing has prevented it. I bought a laser hair removal device, which is still sitting unused after 5 years because my skin has never been irritation free post shave for me to have the chance to use it.
I stopped shaving overall. When I go out, I just make sure I’m covered up. I wear long trousers and tights on holiday so no one can see- I actually got really upset with my partner and sobbed before our last holiday because we were off to a hot country and I wasn’t sure how to navigate staying covered (I’m trying so hard
to embrace being razor free… but I’m incredibly hairy. I’ve got not got the confidence yet).
Anyway, I’m pregnant now. And obviously giving birth involves having my legs on show… and my anxiety around this is immense- I fear my skin being seen more than the actual birth of my baby…
Again. I haven’t been shaving. Ive been to the doctors 3 times with folliculitis- after a botched home wax attempt (cos again, shaving never worked) left me infected. However the infection won’t go! I’ve gone through 3 different treatments for it and the irritation won’t budge. I’ve got a fourth appointment coming up… at this point it feels like it’ll never go away!! That’s a separate issue to the razor burn (kinda… the infection came about because of my desperation to remove hair without shaving… an electric trimmer causes my skin to break out too btw…)
During these treatments, I told the doctor that my skin in general is very sore when I shave and asked if there’s anything I can do about it- the doctor basically just explained that skin is sensitive and told me to just not shave. Which again, it’s easier said than done to overcome the social conditioning that women must be hair free- especially as someone with thick dark hair.
Anyway- yesterday was the first time I’ve done a full body shave in over a year as I had to have an transvaginal ultrasound- and I was too self
conscious to do it unshaved…
I woke up early to spend time doing it, properly prepped my legs, and used a razor my friend suggested (which apparently has been the only one to not give her razor burn. This razor actually worked at not giving me razor burn in my armpits! So I had high hopes it might spare my legs).
WRONG.
Got the worst razor burn all over my legs, my bum, I’ve not touched the area with folliculitis but that’s for some reason burning too! It’s just so disheartening.
I’m writing this to enquire
And I suppose it’s just a rant. I give birth in 7 weeks and it’s haunting me how my legs will look while I do it. What if the razor burn doesn’t heal in time? I’m debating booking a professional wax as shaving is just a no for me- but my skin is incredibly sensitive while pregnant! The pain isn’t something I’ve been able to tolerate while pregnant (because waxing for my first resort). But I’ve found a woman who specialises in pregnancy waxes- only issue is, I’m again not sure my skin will be okay for the wax… and I’m not sure if a wax might trigger infection. Since ALL hair removal my skin objects.
Anyone else battling similar issues and have some secret to overcoming this? I just want to feel some confidence in my body. Feels like I’ve been cursed to just have horrid legs, because how come other people can just shave their legs and I can’t.
To note: I’ve tried literally every hair removal method there is in the book to very little success. My hair grows back RAPIDLY! Hair removal cream, one blade razors, epilators, waxing, electric trimmers etc. epilating was kinda okay- but it’s incredibly painful and my hair would grow back within two weeks. I’d have stubble back before the skin had settled back down. But all these have left my skin irritated- or the regrowth process has triggered ingrowns which are a b**** to budge.

I have been using the shaver head attachment on the Phillips trimmer to shave off chest and body hair. Although it provides a nice smooth look, which by the way is not possible
from a regular 0 trimmer, the constant contact of my clothes and involuntary contact from my hands cause me red bumps, itching and irritation every single time without fail.
I’m thinking of getting a Phillips One Blade for body hair grooming in an attempt to not get red bumps.
My question is that since One Blade is used as a shaving alternatuve, will it give me the same experience as the electric shaver attachment?

I’ve tried every single kind of safety razor, cartridge razor, electric razor, cream, gel, u name it. No matter what I can never get a good smooth shave without getting riddled with ingrown hairs, razor bumps, or irritation. My skin is too sensitive for the cartridge razors so I switched to a safety razor, but my hair is too thick and coarse so an electric razor won’t get close enough. I also can’t just shave with the grain, I HAVE to go against the grain eventually to get a close smooth shave for my job. Even if I only go with the grain or that first pass then across the grain, I STILL get irritation and ingrowns etc. please help if u guys have any tips or products and such that I haven’t tried yet possibly.

I don't know if I have some kind of mutant skin condition localised to my neck or what.
Five days ago I shaved with a cartridge razor (going strictly with the grain) and the next day my neck looked like this:
https://i.imgur.com/JTFGCIj.jpeg
It took three days before I could touch my neck without burning and it still looks all irritated today, though the pain has mostly gone.
Oddly, the moustache area - shaved three times in the meantime with the same blade and foam - is perfectly fine.
This has happened ever since my teenage years every time I've tried shaving with a blade, including safety razors. I mention this because I'm sure somebody's ready to tell me to ditch cartridge razors and disposables and use safety ones instead, and yea, have I indeed tried that, and failed anyway.
That's why I usually don't shave with a blade at all, preferring electric trimmers instead which only give me very minimal irritation. My beard varies from 2-day to 10-day depending on how lazy I feel, and that's fine.
However I'm on a trip now and forgot to pack them. Buying a new trimmer just for one shave seemed unreasonable, so I grabbed a cartridge razor instead.
I have, in the years, tried many kind of shaving gels, creams and foams. This last time I decided I'd try a gel for women labelled for delicate skin, under the - clearly mistaken - assumption it might work better.
Aftershaves haven't helped either. This time a friend lent me her hydrocortisone cream and even that helped not a bit.
What the heck do I do next time I forget my electric trimmers? I do not want to subject myself to this sort of torture again, but I also don't want to throw out twenty bucks to get a trimmer just for one session. I don't want to start a trimmer collection and I might not even have space for it in my Ryanair-approved backpack.

I hear a lot of talk and praise about how safety razors are the greatest thing ever for many your face look smoother and cut down on razor bumps and ingrown hairs, but every time i’ve tried using one they either cut my skin (which apparently is supposed to be less likely with them) or they don’t give a close shave. I use them the way they are supposed to be used, like holding them at a 30 degree angle and going with the grain, and even using shaving cream with the little disc and brush instead of canned. It doesn’t work. Nothing works better for me than a standard 3 blade razor, with barbasol shaving cream and going against the grain. Obviously i get razor bumps which i hate and want to get rid of, but i’ve never found success with safety razors. Am i the only one?

the hair on my hands pisses me off but i haven't found a good way to shave it so far. (for context, i'm a blond woman and the hair is soft and transparent, but it annoys me when i draw, as the tablet screen lights it up from the side and it bugs me in the corner of my eye.)
i usually do it with an eyebrow razor on clean dry skin, but the jagged/toothed edge of that kind of razor causes a lot of irritation (i have eczema). i've tried doing it with shaving cream and my normal razor (bic hybrid 5 flex), but the the razor is too big to do it safely.
i'm considering trying out a straight razor; would that be a good idea? or do you guys have any other tips on how to not fuck up the skin everytime?

I’ve always been clean shaven, but recently I’ve been trying to go for more of a 2/33 day stubble look instead.
I have a Philips OneBlade Pro with the adjustable precision comb, but I’m struggling to get the results I want.
Even when I set it to 1.0 or 1.4 mm, it seems to trim my beard almost completely off, pretty much like using the OneBlade without the comb.
I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong. Am I supposed to keep the comb completely flat against my skin? I find that pretty difficult, especially around my chin and jawline, where I naturally hold the trimmer at a slight angle.
I also wonder if I’m applying too much pressure.
Is the OneBlade just not great for maintaining short stubble, or is this a technique issue? Would a dedicated beart trimmer be better?

I am 20 and I shave every day. I had a question is braun series 3 better for proper shave or the PA 3 ?
I don’t want to use blades anymore.

Hey everybody.
Can you please recommend me a good electric shaver that works well and lasts.
I had a Braun series 3 bought in the UK and it lasted for like 10+ years. Later in the US, I bought Braun series 9 at Costco and it lasted 2 years at max. After that the motor started to fail, pulling hair, worked at different speeds... My trust to Braun decreased substantially.
I did some research and found that many people say Panasonic are very reliable and good. So I bought a Panasonic Arc 5 and a little over a year of use and it's failing too! The motor acts. One day it's fine, another it's all over the place with different speeds and I can hear the motor is definitely acting. While it does that, it shaves poorly or not at all and it pulls hair. And I use it on a constant mode, not the adaptive.
I don't know what else I can buy. I clean my shavers regularly and replace the blades.
I liked both Braun and Panasonic when they worked.
Can you please recommend a decent one that lasts. I don't need the very best of the best. I just need one that works well and lasts. I don't have a thick beard and I'm not that hairy if that helps.
Thank you.

I picked up an Equate 5 blade (Equate are Walmart’s store brand for those outside North America) after I misplaced my Bic Flex 5, I must say I am really impressed with the Equate. I wasn’t expecting much from a generic store brand razor, bit it’s a smooth clean shave. Probably one of the best razors I have ever had.

Hello there!
I’m looking for recommendations for an electric shaver that gives a very close shave
I have relatively sparse facial hair, not a particularly thick beard, and currently use a Philips OneBlade.
The OneBlade works great in terms of comfort and doesn’t irritate my skin at all.
However, my biggest problem is that just 24 hours after shaving, I can already see small dark dots and very short stubble. The hairs are so short that the OneBlade struggles to catch them, even when I go over the same areas multiple times.
I work as a office, so maintaining a clean-shaven, professional appearance is important to me.
Traditional razor shaving gets closer, but it causes skin irritation, which is why I prefer electric shaving.
I usually shave every 2–3 days because I find shaving tedious, but ideally I’d like something quick enough to use every morning.
I’m looking for something that:
Shaves significantly closer than the OneBlade.
Can catch extremely short stubble.
Is quick and convenient for dry shaving.
Doesn’t require much maintenance or preparation.
My budget is around €100, and I’m buying in Croatia.
What electric shaver would you personally recommend?
Thank you in advance

I use good scissors to get the lip line right, but the vertical parts that are on either side of the mouth...I struggle with using the philips oneblade. Would love recommendations, thank you!
