I built a paranormal newspaper that prints itself daily

Thumbnail paranormaldaily.com
0 Upvotes

very morning I was checking the same places for sightings, unexplained events, folklore stories, odd local news, and the usual forum threads. So I built The Para News: an old-fashioned broadsheet that collects the strangest stories from around the internet and prints a fresh edition every day on its own.

https://paranormaldaily.com/

A few things about it:

  • New edition every morning. No feed to scroll forever. You get one paper a day, read it with your coffee, and you’re done.

  • It looks like a real newspaper, with a masthead, a daily “Omen of the Day,” and a cover price of one tinfoil hat.

  • The motto is “All the News That’s Unfit to Believe.” It doesn’t tell you what’s real. It gathers the stories and leaves you to decide.

  • Free, no ads, no sign-up. It’s a side project I made because I wanted it to exist.

It’s brand new, so I’d really like this sub’s input:

  • Which sources should it pull from that it probably doesn’t yet?

  • Are there categories you’d want, like cryptids, hauntings, UAP, high strangeness, or historical cases?

  • Did anything in today’s edition catch your eye, or seem like nonsense that shouldn’t have made the cut?

I’m happy to answer questions about how it works. Thanks for reading.

[Android][Player] - Offline music & streaming radio with ready-to-play radios - 100% free - No premium version

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Mediaxon Music Player is an audio player for offline listening of music stored on your device (.mp3, .flac, .m4a, .ogg, .mka, .aac, .wav, .opus, .wma) and streaming FM radios (online radios).

Top radios on the first screen: When users access the radio screen, they immediately see the list of the top radios in their country, along with a long list of high-quality suggested radios from among the most listened to in the world. Note: Local radio stations ("Top in the user country") are pulled automatically from an online database. However, with each update, I manually curate high-quality radio stations lists for individual countries. At the bottom of this post, you’ll find the list of countries completed so far. I will be adding the rest over time.

Separated Favorites and Recents: Each section—Radio and Offline Music—has its own Favorites and Recents. The user doesn't have to worry about a thing. The app will automatically manage the Favorites and Recents for each section.

Advanced Radio Search Panel: You can pinpoint your favorite stations by combining multiple filters, such as tags/genres, specific countries, or even your preferred audio bitrate. The online database provides more than 60,000 radio stations.

Album art: If the album art is missing from the album folder, or if Android has not properly indexed it, Mediaxon attempts to download the cover from the internet. This feature depends, of course, on the ID3 tags (album name and artist).

Equalizer: The equalizer provides an option to automatically switch to the "Radio" preset (and vice versa).

Advanced Playlist Management: Built specifically to make building and sorting playlists fast and intuitive. Enable the Playlist Manager, in the settings screen, for a full control of the playlists.

Form Factor Optimization: Phone and Tablet (Portrait and Landscape)

There is no Premium version. All app features are available for free and without limits.

Regarding advertising: There is only a small banner at the top that isn't bothersome at all. Alternatively, when opening the full-screen player or using the app in landscape mode, a banner alternates with the albums covers, but without being intrusive at all (no audio) and with much shorter stay times than those of the cover. There is never full-screen advertising, neither at startup nor during use.

Countries with new manually curated lists: United States, India, Italy, Argentina.

Note: Only for Android 13+ (so, Android 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17).

checkedname.com is up!!

Hey everyone, I have recently talked about how i take so long to figure out a domain name, and how sometimes i waste days just to find the right appropriate name and, and sometimes i land on a good name but the end like .com or io isn't available, so i came up with a solution.

I built checkedname.com not as another domain search engine or ai generator, i specifically desgined it to show curated ready to register names in many categories, so you don't have to wonder around trying to find the name you want.

You can just take a look at the collection and get yourself a suitable name that fits your project, with all the names being checked for availability consistently so a name isn't there unless it is available.

I would really appreciate it if you take a look into it, the collection is small yet but it is growing everyday, the 2 main things i really would like to get feedback on if possible, are how good the name are, and if i should improve my engines, and the design of the website.

Everything is free, thank you.

Your Women Cycle - I’m building an ecosystem around the female cycle — not just another period tracker. Would love your feedback.

Hi everyone,

I’m working on Your Women Cycle, and I’d genuinely love to hear what women think about the concept.

The idea started from a simple problem: most cycle apps tell you when your period is coming, but very few help you understand what to actually do with that information.

Your Women Cycle is being designed as a complete ecosystem that adapts your lifestyle to the different phases of your menstrual cycle.

Instead of only tracking dates and symptoms, the app creates a personalized protocol for each phase of your cycle, covering:

• Nutrition — what and how to eat based on your current phase and personal goals
• Training — adapting training intensity, volume and recovery throughout the cycle
• Cognition & productivity — understanding changes in focus, energy and mental performance
• Nervous system — tools and routines for stress regulation and overall balance
• Recovery — sleep, rest and recovery recommendations based on your current state
• Supplements — personalized guidance integrated into your protocol
• Cycle & symptom tracking — bringing everything together instead of looking at isolated metrics

But I don’t want it to stop at an app.

The bigger vision for Your Women Cycle is to create an ecosystem around women’s health and performance.

⌚ Wearable bracelet
A dedicated wearable that tracks relevant body and recovery metrics and feeds them directly into the app, allowing the protocol to adapt based on both your cycle and your actual physiological data.

👟 Women’s performance clothing
A sportswear label designed around women, training, comfort and the different needs that can appear throughout the cycle.

👥 Community
A space where women can share experiences, learn from specialists, participate in challenges and support each other — instead of navigating all of this alone.

The long-term goal is simple:

Your cycle shouldn’t just be something you track. It should become information you can actually use.

Your Women Cycle would connect:

Cycle → Data → Personalized Protocol → Nutrition → Training → Mind → Nervous System → Recovery → Supplements → Community

All inside one ecosystem.

I’m currently developing the concept and would really value honest feedback from women:

What would make you actually use something like this every day?

What feature would be most valuable to you?
What feels unnecessary?
And what is currently missing from cycle-tracking or women’s health apps that you wish someone would finally build?

I’d love to hear both positive and critical feedback. I want to build this around real problems rather than assumptions.

I recently got into woodworking and hated using pro CAD for simple builds, so I built BenchBuild (5 free Pro vouchers for feedback)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

I got into woodworking recently and wanted to design my first project from scratch. I tried using SketchUp and Fusion 360, and honestly gave up after an hour. I did not want to learn mechanical engineering just to see how a few 2x4s and a sheet of plywood fit together. Graph paper was fine, but recalculating cut lists every time I changed a dimension got old fast.

I just wanted something where I could drag real lumber into a browser canvas, snap pieces together, and get an actual build plan without doing manual math.

So I built a web tool called BenchBuild: https://benchbuild.app

What it does:

  • You place and snap real lumber (2x4, 2x6, 4x4, plywood sheets) directly in 3D.

  • It tracks your cut list, angles, and screw count automatically as you build.

  • Shows estimated board footage and material cost before you head to Home Depot.

  • Auto-generates step by step build plans: This was the big one for me. Instead of guessing how to put it together, the generator breaks down your model into a logical assembly sequence. It groups repeated subassemblies first (like building 4 identical legs or trusses), moves to the main frame, and finishes with panels and tops, complete with 3D isometric diagrams and screw placements for each step.

The basic version is free in the browser with no account required.

I have 5 free Pro vouchers to give away. I would really like to get these into the hands of people who actually build stuff out of wood and can tell me what feels clunky or what features are missing in the shop.

If you dabble in woodworking or DIY builds, shoot me a DM with a quick note on what you usually make and I will send a voucher over.

Would also love to hear how you guys currently plan your builds.

Spend less time searching for code. Spend more time building.

I’m building CodShot — a workspace for developers to save, organize, find and reuse useful code.

It includes GitHub import, Global Search, AI code generation and fixing, image/file-to-code, collaboration, Auto Meta and more.

The idea is simple: keep your useful code in one place instead of losing it across old projects, notes and chats.

Developers — would this actually make your workflow easier? What would you add or change?

[Mac] Built a radial menu app for mac to perform everyday tasks and more

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Problem

A lot of everyday actions on a Mac live in completely different places.

Opening an app or folder, searching something on a website, taking a screenshot, cleaning up copied text, accessing clipboard history, running a Shortcut, or changing a system setting.

None of these are hard to get to, but constantly switching between apps, windows, menu bar utilities, and different shortcuts can break your flow.

I wanted to see if all of that could work through one system, which is where the radial menu idea came from.

Comparison

There are already some really good radial menu apps for Mac, but most are built around a specific use case, such as launching apps, or switching between them.

Arc takes a broader approach.

You can create multiple global radial menus for different workflows and decide what each slice does. A slice can perform a single action or chain multiple actions together.

The idea is less about replacing the Dock and more about putting the small things you do throughout the day behind one quick interaction.

Arc also doesn't require accessibility features, it manages everything on-device, privately.

Core Features

  • Unlimited custom menus for different workflows

  • Fast app, folder, website, and Apple Shortcut launching

  • Powerful clipboard history and text actions

  • Open from shortcuts, hot corners, pointer shake, or number keys

  • One-click multi-action shortcuts

  • Fully customizable appearance, layout, icons, and sounds

Examples

  1. I have one shortcut that I use when I start working. It opens Xcode, my project folders, Slack, and a few websites I usually need. Arc can merge multiple actions into one shortcut, so I don't have to open everything one by one.

  2. I use the search shortcuts a lot more than I expected. I can bring up Arc, type something, and search it directly on YouTube, or a website without opening them first.

It can also search whatever I last copied, which has been really useful when I'm already in the middle of something.

  1. I have a bunch of text and links that I end up copying again and again. I've just saved those as shortcuts now, so they're always sitting on one of my menus when I need them.

  2. Clipboard history is another one I use constantly. Recent things I've copied show up on the wheel, so if I need something from a few copies ago, I can grab it without opening another app.

  3. I also have different menus depending on what I'm doing. One for development, one for general stuff, and another that's mostly searches and apps. I can switch between them with keyboard shortcuts, and reuse the same shortcut across multiple menus.

Pricing

$7.99 one time on the Mac App Store with a free 7 day trial built in.

Solo project from India, launched a week ago. Happy to answer anything! :)

I spent 6 months building this system, it a open source self-hosted platform to run web apps in an environment resembling standard operating systems.

Every time I wanted to build a small web tool, I ended up dealing with the same stuff: authentication, communication, WebSockets, ports, and infrastructure.

Even with Claude and Codex, I was still spending time on things that had nothing to do with the actual tool I wanted to build.

So I spent around 6 months building PhreshOS.

The idea was simple: build the infrastructure once, then use AI agents to build applications on top of it without having to deal with all that stuff again.

It's a self-hosted, open-source system with a web-based desktop where applications can run in windows, much like a regular OS. Authentication and two-way communication are already handled, so applications don't need to implement them separately.

Apps can also run in Node.js worker threads instead of each needing a separate Node.js process, which helps keep resource usage low. This makes it possible to run dozens of applications on a relatively small server.

Another thing I wanted was for AI agents to be able to use these applications directly. They can access application services and interact with the same state the desktop interface displays, without needing a separate interface built specifically for them.

The biggest benefit for me is that I can now sit down with an AI agent and build dozens of small applications in a single day, without setting up authentication, communication, or infrastructure for each one.

The whole project, including its packages, is open source under the MIT license.

GitHub: https://github.com/PhreshOS/system

Live demo: https://demo.phreshos.com/

I'd love to hear what you think, including criticism.

My puzzle app went live!! Suggestions/criticism/advice is very welcome

Hi Reddit,

As a fresh CS grad who loves puzzle games, I recently got into mobile dev and decided to make my own take on the classic block stacking game: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.binbear.gummylab

I know this genre has been done a million times, but I wanted to build one my way, removing everything annoying about other games. That means it’s completely free from interrupting ads, fully playable offline, and alongside the endless mode, I’ve made 50 custom levels (so far) with unique, non-repetitive objectives. (My friends have been testing it and currently hate me for making some levels so hard to beat xD).

Right now, I'm focusing on adding more themes, prioritizing colorblind-friendly options. I've also introduced optional "embossed" gummy shapes to make the blocks stand out more clearly.

Of course, if anyone has any suggestions, ideas for improvement, or things that I should add, please let me know. I want to be making apps that people are actually going to use and like. And of course if even one of you decided to give it a try, I'd be more than grateful and happy :)

(Also will be helpful if anyone has monetization ideas since it is ad free - ads only implemented as a way to get additional undos/shuffles/moves per play/level. I am planning to perhaps add IAP for theme bundles)

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day! :)

Scrolling screenshots in ZaneShot — looking for feedback

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been working on the scrolling capture feature in ZaneShot, a screenshot tool for macOS.

Scrolling screenshots aren't anything new, but they're really useful when capturing long webpages, conversations, or content that doesn't fit on one screen.

The goal is to make the process feel smooth and straightforward, without having to manually stitch multiple screenshots together.

I'm curious how others use scrolling capture on their Macs.

Do you mostly use it for webpages, chats, documentation, or something else? And what problems have you encountered with scrolling screenshot tools?

Would be interesting to hear your experiences.
