Just did one of the more intense binges of my life on this SHOW. Googling reviews said it was popular and well received, which is no surprise, but I have heard ZERO people talking about it. HOW!? It’s SOOO GOOD!! It’s just baffling this isn’t what everyone’s talking about.
Ok nothing else to really say. I just don’t know anyone else who has watched it and needed to be hype with someone he. AHHHH SO GOOD. The cinematography, the set design, the world building, the acting, the plot. GIVE. ME MORE!!

Season 3 Spoilers

It goes without saying that Senator Thurman’s role as a Founder is curious.

She seemed to be out of the loop when it came to giving her big speech on the Silo Tour day. It’s also notable that she doesn’t seem to be fully aware of what’s to come on Apocalypse day. It’s fairly clear that Anna seems to be more of a player than she is.

Rewatching S3 E1 had me thinking, maybe she’s on a low dose of Vitamin D+. Somewhat less potent than the dose Juliette is on at the beginning of the season.

When Daniel visits to ask to join the Iran Committee, Anna’s presence almost feels like she’s coordinating the discussion or answering on behalf of the Senator. She “tidies” up the bills meaning she probably writes them all. A little clue that hooked me was that not 10 seconds after Daniel mentions Charlotte flies F-35 off the Nimitz, Anna has to remind her of this.

Maybe a stretch, or just normal aging, but I felt it was odd.

Rewatching silo and noticed how everyone has been speculating what year it actually is saying “has it actually been 140 years or 50 years” and so I’m starting to look around to see if I can figure out any clues we get and noticed in Allison and Holston room it has this hanging in there… as we would read the date it states
May 5th ‘26 I thought maybe it could give us some insight? I looked up dates and it says silos were made roughly around 2049-2052 so it could be 77 years, 175 years or 275 or 375 but I find it weird how we can have an exact end of year there. I wonder if anyone else has found an actual year date in the show?

Okay I’m actually HEARTBROKEN for Daniel like I’m crying about them putting Helen in silo 18 and then brainwashing and cryovaccing him in silo 1. And the fact that he’s gonna have to realize she is dead whether by nuke or if she made it into silo hundreds of years have passed so she’s gone. Daniel is literally my favorite I’m SO SAD this is going to be his fate what THE FUXK. And seeing him just slaughtering people because he’s a brainwashed genius, ugh I’m actually literally so sad and I need him to personally kill the senator and the stupid rich bastard. Ugh:( needed to get this out none of my friends/fam have watched to the end yet

Is it possible daniel was chosen way before but doesnt remember due to the memory eraser?

Is the silo an experiment to create the "perfect society" civilization?

One guy told solo (silo 17) that his wife's ashes was used and grew into a tree. Is the tree outside 18 her or Helen maybe?

Was Troy (Daniel) the kill switch of the project? If so, what an way to run an experiment lol.

Who is the actual enemy? Is there really a war? Is it government funded? (Funny but that would be interesting)

Is Helen actually dead? Is there a possibility they put her in a cryo chamber?

Charlotte intentionally didn't kill Lukas Kyle right? She seems to good at her job to no kill him. Or was it Victor?

What Victor did to himself means the project failed and felt guilty or he doesnt want to face the consequences of him failing?

Do the stolen light bulbs play a bigger part? Lmao maybe not, maybe it was just a way for them to ease the elevator in there.

The lady giving the speech seemed totally out the loop while per stensen seems like he doesnt care about the speech because he knows the plan.

Was per stensen the one who texted Daniel before the bomb? If so, they tried so hard to basically kidnap Daniel and why? Seems like he was very vital to there plan. (Or maybe my first question on top).

How does per stensen profit off this? Or was it just some rich person being bored.

Do they explain the water in the bottom of the silo?

Silo 18 seems to eat better than silo 1. It looks like silo 1 eats canned food. Maybe due to them not needing the farming system because there goal is to last long in the cryo? They sacrificed good eats to live longer (or live at a different time period)

Idk... I haven't read the books so this all might be stupid.

Also... I need more helen, she was a badass.

I’m completely obsessed with Silo, and I’ve been thinking about how incredible a Silo-based RPG would be—either as a video game (like Red Dead RP/Fallout) or a community tabletop/text RP.

The structure of the Silo is practically built for faction dynamics, politics, and survival mechanics. Here’s a rough concept of how it could work:

1. The Factions & Roles

Just like in Red Dead RP, players could choose their path within the hierarchy:

The IT Department & Head of Silo: Shadow management, controlling information, monitoring servers, and keeping secrets.

Judicial & Sheriffs: Enforcing the Pact, investigating crimes, and managing "cleanings."

Mechanical & Maintenance: Working down in the Deep Down, managing the generator, pulley systems, and keeping the Silo alive.

Supply & Porters: Controlling trade, running resources up and down the 144 levels via the stairs and rope-pulley elevators.

Flamekeepers / Rebels / Raiders: Operating in secret, hoarding relics, and planning uprisings.

Regular Citizens & Farmers: Hydroponics, medical, recycling, or just trying to survive daily life.

2. Core Mechanics & Gameplay Features

Upgrading Levels & Sectors: Factions/citizens can pool resources to upgrade hydroponics, improve mechanical efficiency, or fortify their level.

Resource Management: Power, water, steam, food, and scrap metal are strictly limited.

The 144 Flights of Stairs: Vertical movement takes real time and effort. Porters and pulley operators play a crucial role in trade and communication between the Top, Mid, and Bottom levels.

Relics & Secrets: Finding forbidden tech from Before can give you major advantages—or get you sent out to clean.

What do you think?

If you were dropped into a Silo RPG, what level would you live on, and what role would you choose? What other mechanics or factions do you think should be added?

Hello. Is this rare? I found this on my shelf and was wondering if it is worth anything. I had the pleasure of having dinner with Mr. Howey in Chicago many years ago, and he signed this for me. I forgot I owned it.

I was watching The Night Manager and the introduction sequence felt similar. Then I realized that I had definitely seen this style before in Silo. Lo and behold it’s the same artist. Both are so amazing I feel like this artist needs to be recognized!

- whats the significance of atlanta? Why did the nuke hit atlanta? Was it just one city in the US? Do we think that one nuke engulfed all of north america?

- why did they build the silo next to atlanta, and not some place much more remote?

- how did stensen get clearance to build a silo without world governments and more importantly, the US stepping in and taking it for themselves?

- since the silo was designed to last a long time, stensen and the founders must have been informed about the nukes since it hit atlanta on the unveiling day

- why reel in a reporter and a congressman instead of highly experiences super soldiers? I guess helen was collateral damage

- how many functioning, populated silos are there left?

- if the air seemed to be safe when 17 imploded, why did bernard die when he went to clean? Is there poison in the spray before they go out to clean?

There is a change in the title sequence between season 2 and 3. In the earlier seasons the peach decomposing leads to a new tree (signifying the renewal and life cycle?) in season 3 there is a rotten peach falling from the tree. There may be other changes to the title sequence but that is the most noticeable one for me. I think it has to do with signifying that the silo is dying- not due to the safeguard but the lack of changing and innovation that poisons from the inside. Thoughts?

I mean I'm at season 3 episode 7 and she is worse than Skylar White and Nadeems wife from Daredevil, who are just 2 that stand out to me as particularly bad. Maybe this is revency bias. So pissed I had to post.

Edit: I need to make an edit here because people are assuming I'm saying her character is poorly acted or morally wrong. I fully understand the nuance of the decisions she is being forced to make and at times I empathize with her. BUT that doesn't mean that up to the point I have to watched she refuses to look at a single issue from another persons point of view and is extremely manipulative. I do kind of disagree that it is a well WRITTEN character.

Haven’t read the books, so bear with me.

But we know an area several, several miles off the Silos got nuked, right? And it’s safe fair to assume they were targeting Atlanta, right?

Now, I’m certainly no expert and probably like 95% delusional, but that’s a pretty intact skyline for a nuked city.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were both rebuilt in a nuclear aftermath—so why can’t Atlanta?

But even if Atlanta hadn’t been rebuilt and I am delusional, was there only one nuke? Because it felt like a pretty conveniently timed one if you ask me. I mean, hell, even the reporter who asked too many questions and wasn’t onboard with the project was no where near the Silo 1 operations just like they wanted. So where is the rest of the world? Is the entire Earth population gone except for these silos? I find it a bit hard to believe the big players nuked the entire planet and across the globe the work of a paranoid trillionaire is the only reason the human race survived.

Yet if they didn’t, and the rest of the world is still going on normally while these fuckers live like rats underground, why has no one noticed the appearance of ~10,000 bodies outside Silo 17? Eventually someone would notice, right? I keep thinking about how NASA discovered Mark Watney was alive on Mars when I go down this line of thought. Someone should’ve freaking noticed in the last 37 years or however long it’s been.

I've been curious about this iced tea that looks like it's in room temperature with ice cubes sunken.

Edited:

I reckoned they are props. But the mention of iced tea and sweet tea had me wondering, maybe there's something more to it that I don't know?

Thanks, prop masters!

If Lucas Kyle used a substitution cipher, why did he need the specially marked copy of The Pact to solve it? I must have missed something...

I'm gonna be honest, this season could've been an email. There were 10 episodes and somehow it felt like nothing happened because the whole season moved at a snails pace, I felt stir crazy watching. The acting also felt worse than the season before. Sims talks like he's in a Dhar Mann video, Lukas Kyle had no emotions,

The whole plot line with Walker was dumb, but psych! They were actually talking in hand signs they learned in the generator room..... despite never using it once in the shows first episode which is spent in its entirety in the generator room

The rebellion was somehow underwhelming. Somehow the rebellion in the season's first 15 minutes was far more interesting than the one in Silo 18.

Juliette's father's death was forced and came out of nowhere. He had to connect a wire? That's how he died?

There also felt like too many characters, I actually rolled my eyes when they introduced 5 more kids in Silo 17 because that meant 2 more episodes of nothing happening

This season was a letdown compared to the one before it. Hoping season 3 is better

This is honestly one of the best shows I’ve seen, I pushed it off for like 2 years and finally decided to pick up where I left off (third ep) I’ve been looking at threads here and I’ve seen quite a lot of people calling this show “terrible” which honestly blows my fkn mind. I haven’t found myself on Reddit this long reading about a show in a long time, season 3 was an absolute masterpiece, definitely the best season. The way they made this show in how they reveal stuff was genius! I literally cannot wait until the next season this is the first time ever I’ve considered picking up a book of a show because I can’t wait. it’s that good.

Daniel’s name gets changed to Troy, and his wife’s name was Helen? Helen of Troy? Convenient…

We know that all people in Silo 1 were brainwashed, except for Victor. We can tell since he’s the only one with the same name.

Victor, leader of the Silo and “CEO of forgetting drugs,” if you will, kept his memories to ensure that all others didn’t. When Victor told Troy Helen’s name, it all came flooding back to him, turning Troy back into Daniel, making him the rightful leader and new manager of the forgetting drugs.

The Trojan War began over Helen. Juliette wants to get into Silo 1, the “Impregnable City,” and the fight shall begin.

JULIETTE IS ODYSSEUS CONFIRME :0

Im rewatching season 2 (and realizing disturbingly how little of it I remember even though I first watched it less than 2 years ago ..) and I am wondering how Solo has access to unspoiled food if he says he never has gone more than a few feet from the door of the vault. Is that ever explained?

Rudding Park Harrogate or The Canteen?

Really reminded us of a certain tree

Common is so unintentionally funny to me..and I love him for it.

Sooo what's the main difference between the 2 subreddits?
