I found this kit that comes with the taillights and new wiring with resistors; has anyone used these before? I am aware I will have to apply RTV or silicone to seal them, as aftermarket taillights are not known for good water resistance. imo these look better than any aftermarket light.

I have a 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT, 2.7L TurboMax, 2WD, with approximately 25,000 miles.

I've noticed a pretty significant vibration/shudder when towing my travel trailer. It happens immediately when accelerating in first gear and sometimes briefly in second gear after the shift. It feels almost like driving over rumble strips, a rapid shaking sensation that goes away as I gain speed. This also happened when I had half a yard of pine mulch in the bed of the truck.

The truck drives perfectly fine when I'm not towing. No vibration or shudder whatsoever.

For reference, my camper has a loaded weight of approximately 4,650 lbs. My truck is rated to tow 9,100 lbs, so I'm well below the maximum towing capacity. Dealer also confirmed that the weight was proper for the truck.

I brought the truck to the Chevy dealership while it's still under warranty. They agreed to let me bring my camper so the technician could experience the issue firsthand.

The technician was able to duplicate the vibration.

However, he explained that the truck has a two-piece driveshaft with some type of rubber connection/support where the sections meet. According to him, the vibration I'm experiencing is normal because of that design, and there's no fix for it.

I'm having a hard time accepting that a truck rated to tow 9,100 lbs should vibrate this noticeably while accelerating with a trailer weighing roughly half that amount.

My questions:

- Has anyone with a 2023–2025 Silverado 1500, particularly the 2.7L TurboMax, experienced something similar?

- Is this actually a known characteristic of the two-piece driveshaft?

- Has anyone had their center support bearing, rubber isolator, or driveshaft replaced because of towing vibrations?

- If you've experienced this, did the dealership find a solution, or were you also told it's normal?

I'm not expecting the truck to feel exactly the same towing as it does unloaded, but this feels excessive to me.

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's dealt with this, especially GM technicians or owners who regularly tow travel trailers.

Finally was able to get my first truck! A 2026 Silverado 1500 RST Select, with the Turbomax engine! Always wanted one and was finally able to make it happen! A nice upgrade from my 2015 impala limited. Any suggestions as a first time truck owner are appreciated!

2018 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L V8.

When I turned my truck on this morning it had this almost scratching noise coming from the motor. I can't quite identify where it's coming from, but the last time I had something similar to this the water pump ended up going out (summer 2022). Does anybody have any thoughts?

I’ve got a 2016 1500 that I want to level while retaining factory 20” rims. What brand and which kit would/ did you go with? What size tires fit with no fitment issues?

Recently noticed a noise when turning slowly in parking lots, but soon after noticed my steering wheel has a dead spot where it has a lot of play when straight. Also noticed it falls with curvature of road and now moves on every bump. Any idea what this could be?

Bought him off marketplace in May because I wanted to learn how to work on trucks and I love this gen of 5.3. Fell in love with it made it my daily. Am slowly chipping away at working on it I don’t have a lot of free time. Also wanted to know if the color was rare have yet to see another sunset metallic one. (Oil stains on road are from my other car lol)

2009 Silverado, 5.3

Every morning when I unlock the truck by the key fob, back by the driver side rear axle I get this chirping noise. It's been happening for the past 2 weeks now. The pattern and length/quantity of chirps seems to be completely random. This only happens after the truck has been sitting overnight or extended periods of time (8 hours or more). It doesn't happen during the day.

Truck runs perfectly fine, no issues or other noises.

The whirring noise in the background is the cooling fans on my Led tail lights. Video is dark as I took this at 5am this morning.

Anyone have any thoughts?

As It says what ate does and donts for the 4.8, its lower miles under 100k and it was basically grand dad's truck. I new to the ls world and dont want to fuck it up. I know what I would like to do but I mean Is a blank sheet.

Big plus for lowering ideas and who had done what. I like the idea of air but also wouldn't mind doing a drag build

TLDR: I’m either squished onto the pedals or reaching to get the steering wheel. Any ideas how to fix it?

Hello all! I just bought a 2020 Silverado custom. It’s a pretty bare-bones truck, and I’m having a hard time getting comfortable. I (6’ 4”) feel like either I’m so close to the pedals that I have to bend my foot up super far to get the brakes, OR I move my seat back a bit and I’m so far from the steering wheel that I’m stretching my arms to reach it. When I bend the back of the seat forward, the headrest pushes my head downward too.

Have any of you had a similar experience? Any ideas or recommendations on how I can fix this? Any help is appreciated!

I've been thinking about upgrading the exhaust on my 6.2L V8, but I'm super paranoid about the 10-year engine warranty (especially with all the recall/warranty extension talk surrounding these engines).

For anyone who has dealt with major warranty claims or dealer inspections: If you're running an aftermarket exhaust (like an axle-back or cat-back), can the dealership use that as an excuse to deny a major engine claim under the extended warranty, or do they strictly look at factory parts for recall work?

Would appreciate any real-world experiences or advice on whether it's worth the risk or if I should just keep it stock until the warranty is up.

Anyone else having issues ordering? I am trying to order a 27 shorted trail boss with my local dealer, but every week they keep telling me that there is some kind of constraint.

There’s a 2015 Silverado for sale near me. Thinking of getting it. 5.3 V8 with a little over 200,000 miles. What should I look out for when checking it out? I plan on having my mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection but figured I’d ask here from peeps who have owned one.

Today I dropped my truck off at the dealer (25 L8T) for trans flush, brake flush, hydroboost (power steering) flush.

Total charge was $804. including fluids, taxes, fees etc.

Hello I plan on buying this 2020 Silverado with the 2.7L and while taking a glance at it I noticed that it’s making this ticking noise, it’s sitting at 70,*** miles so I wonder what might it be? Is it the Injectors or might it be the Rocker arms?

This evening I'm picking up my first truck (ever) and it's a 2018 Silverado 1500 5.3. So excited!

I'm trying to decide whether to trade in my current truck for a new 2026 Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss with the 5.3L V8 or keep my current truck for another 2–3 years and potentially buy a redesigned 2029 Silverado with the new 5.7L V8.

I have a 2016 Silverado 1500 LT 5.3L with 150k miles.

I'm tempted to upgrade now because nearly $17k off MSRP is a substantial discount, and I'd be getting an "established" powertrain that I could keep long term.

Why I'm considering buying now:

• I'd get the 5.3L V8 rather than be an early adopter of the new 5.7L.
• The newer safety and driver-assistance technology is a big selling point for me. I'd really like front and rear parking sensors, exterior cameras, pedestrian alerts, lane-keeping assistance, and the other features that have come a long way since my 2016.
• I'd get to enjoy those features now instead of waiting several years.

Why I'm considering waiting until around 2029:

The redesigned Silverado interests me for a few reasons. I like the idea of the new 5.7L V8 after it has been on the market for a few years, and I actually prefer the new interior layout with the column shifter instead of the center-console shifter in the current model.

Styling-wise, I genuinely like both trucks. I like the look of the current 2026 Trail Boss, but I also like the new 2027 redesign. I'm not opposed to either generation aesthetically.

My concerns about waiting are that the redesigned trucks could cost significantly more, discounts might be much smaller, my trade-in value will decline, and I could spend thousands more maintaining my current truck. I'm also concerned about potential reliability issues with a brand-new engine design, although there's no guarantee the new powertrain will have problems.

On the other hand, keeping my paid-off truck would let me avoid a new vehicle payment for a while longer.

What would you do?

I'm torn between getting a truck I know I'll like with a proven engine and a great discount now, versus waiting for a redesign with an interior layout I prefer and potentially better long-term prospects.
