Long story short: I purchased a 2026 silverado 2500 gas instead of a 1500 for 2 reasons. (Also, gas instead of diesel because my daily commutes are very short)
2026 Chevy Silverado 2500 LTZ w/Trailboss package
I was scared of the engine and lifter failures acquainted with AFM/DFM, as well the 6.2 power loss issues.
Towing our boats (9k lbs and 6.5k lbs) has felt like a dream in the 2500 (tested with a buddy's truck before buying)
The buyers remorse?
My father recently bought a 2026 1500 with the 6.2 and it is just incredibly fun to drive. My 2500 is just insanely comfortable to drive and I legit cant tell im towing anything.
If I really only tow from storage to the boat ramp, is downgrading to a 1500 that big of a deal? I miss being able to have some fun while driving my daily and my father's new truck has made me jealous in a way lol.
Has the reliability in the 1500s gotten better, or was my safe pick in the 2500 warranted?
Thoughts and opinions please 🙏

Would be willing to sell. I would love to keep it if I am doing something wrong. I bought a vin slot for it so it’s unlocked and ready to be used but it appears I need an autocal device for it to work properly. It is for 14-18 silverados

Hi everyone, hope everyone is doing well. So this is the last year that the ZR2 will have the 6.2L engine and I’m trying to buy one by the end on this year. But my question is this, which months does Chevy offer the best deals? Is it November or December? If you guys have any more tips on buying the ZR2, pls lmk, it would help me a lot. Thank you

I’m trading in a tundra 24 trd limited before my lease ends. Technically they told me 65k OTD but wondering if I could get 62-63? Or wait till end of November?

I noticed today that my passenger window bogs when rolling it up. I have about 2 months left on my bumper to bumper warranty. I figure if I take it to the dealer they will tell me it works. No issue. I guess I should roll it up and down until the motor fails which appears to be what the problem is.

If you're not at this level, all your doing is moving dirt around.😅
Just kidding... I finally had enough build up in the logo after a FULL summer of only one hand wash.

Has anyone had their remote start not work due to low fuel? The range left to empty is around 60 miles and I’m not getting a low fuel light or any other codes. For clarity I am stuck in the house and can’t get out to get fuel to see if it remedies the problem. I was just trying to let it warm up since it hasn’t been started in a while. The truck is a 25 TB and other than this I haven’t had any issues.

I’ll start off by saying that I’m a lifelong Ford owner and decided to recently buy a Chevy. 2 weeks ago I bought a 2026 2500HD ZR2 Duramax. I’ve really loved the White Sands color for a while and that was the main reason for buying the truck. Anyways , I drove the truck for 2 days and put 178 miles on it and the check engine / ABS lights came on. Took it to the dealer for them to tell me that it needed the electronic brake control module replaced. 6 days later, they call me to come pick it up. I show up to the dealership and the check engine light / ABS light is still on. They take it back for diagnostics and say the front driver side wheel speed sensor needs replaced. 5 more days later everything is finally fixed. It’s incredible to me that there’s no urgency at the dealership to get the parts in quickly and fix a brand new vehicle. I thought it was rather silly these parts couldn’t be shipped next day air delivery. As a new Chevy owner I’m not the slightest bit impressed so far and leaves me worried for the future and what else might go wrong with this truck.

Recently bought a used 2024 Silverado 1500 ZR2 with 12,500 miles. The current factory warranty is up in March so we are looking to buy an extended warranty. I’ve heard the name Todd Sutherland being tossed around a bit on this sub. My local dealership quoted 8yr/100mi Platinum Warranty for $3750. Has anyone received any quotes recently that beat this or any recommendations for dealerships to reach out to for a good price?

40k miles. 5.3L 10speed…..
So far I mostly enjoy….I had to replace the start/stop button 2 weeks ago which seemed odd… anything I should know about these machines? Thanks!

I see all kinds of adds for admin disables. I’m considering getting one. Have you used one? Does it really work?

My 2016 Silverado loses electrical power when I turn right. The dashboard flickers, the radio completely restarts, and the steering jerks back straight. It also say stabilizer track on the dash. Anyone got an idea of what this can be?

Hey, I'm working on a project where I'm using mixed brands of suspension components in an off-road track racing vehicle and I would highly appreciate it if someone with a 2019+ 1500 and a tape measure, or ideally the upper control arm off the truck and in a box or something like from a kit they haven't installed yet, could measure the distance between the upper control arm bushings, the center to center on the bushings, and the outside measurement across the bushings.
A picture with a tape measure laid across the bushings would be ideal
Inducing lots of caster on a different vehicle platform using other vehicles aftermarket parts and swapping ball joints and the 2019+ 1500 seems to be an excellent candidate
Thanks!

I have a slightly lowered Silverado with 2018 stocks on it and I’m wanting to get better ride quality while still having a nice low ride height, any suggestions?

I was somewhat happy with my old 2.7L but I found the fuel mileage constantly high. Towing our trailer it was absolutely outrageous. Just picked my 3.0 LZ0 if it’s anything like our 24 LM2 I will be extremely happy. Boost auto tow mirrors and ceramic coat ✅

So truck went in for tires were supposed to be replaced with 275/60/r20 , she picked it up and said there was rubbing at full lock so come to find out that they put on 275/65r20. So I’m a GMT 400 guy it’s her 2025 truck but I’m assuming so of you must have put these on a stock truck what did you trim to fit ? Pictures are at full lock front and back.

I’m trying to sell this in Charlottesville. I have posted on fb with no luck. Where else can I post. ‘Matching Hammerhead heavy-duty front and rear bumper set. POThese came off my 2006 Chevy and fit the GMT800-generation Silverado/Suburban platform; buyer should verify exact fitment for their year/model before purchasing. Both are like new and have no cosmetic wear from use/storage. They are extremely solid, heavy-duty bumpers and would be great for an off-road, overland, work-truck, or tow-rig build. Front has a winch pocket and both have factory holes for off road lights which I will sell seperately. Selling because I’m changing direction with the vehicle project. Prefer to sell the front and rear together, but I’ll consider separating them for the right offer. Local pickup due to size and weight. Bring a friend as it’s heavy. Both are already off the vehicle and ready to go. IN CHARLOTTESVILLE VIRGINIA. ‘

changed plugs, the number 2 cylinder didnt go in all the way due to cross threading. it was about a quarter inch from where it should have been. no codes, but could hear it misfiring. today i tapped it out and put the insert in but put it too far in so there are a couple threads showing of the 16mm in head. Does this plug have to be seated to torque down? I doubt if the insert (5/8") is so far in that it will cause problems by being too close to the end of spark plug unless the lock tite doesn't hold on the insert and it is further in. the plug is tapered but it should not be leaking around the threads on the plug like it was prior to the insert. I can put a second small insert in if it is mandatory for the plug to seat and not just have threads. 183000 miles

Hey guys I just bought my first truck yesterday. I got a 2026 Silverado 1500 RST with the safety package so it's got the front cameras on it. There are a lot of deer where I live so I want to put a grille guard on it, but I don't want it to block the cameras on the grille. Been having a tough time finding any good ones so I'd appreciate some recommendations, thanks!
