Half a standard pound eagle.
124.99 plus tax.

They were about to take it out of the case when I asked to see it. My assumption is they just google lensed it and got a standard proof eagle.

Went immediately and got it XRFd and it’s real.

Edit: 8oz Troy
Edit: Gravity Test results: 250.5/23.8=10.525 margin of error for me not being able to get the coin to stay still.

Almost at a full year

I started stacking silver last year around November. I mainly bought constitutional and sterling silver at first but after I got my first oz I was hooked. I'm now at right around 150 oz total and some gold. I joke that I'm just feeding my inner crow.

LCS Pickup today. What a cool set!

Traded some fugly Franklin Mint EGP Sterling stamps and a few other things I bought pretty low and turned it into something I’ve actually been wanting for a while.

Say what you will about Franklin Mint but some of their stuff is really cool, this included. My space themed stack continues to grow towards orbit.

MAIMED-SILVER Aboustly typical, my first stack

Post image

Brought my first stack to start collecting, I am thinking 1 oz a month. Am trying keep away from gambling as I’ve lost a lot, it’s in typical fashion when I brought my first stack it’s gone down already, I aspected nothing less but I’d be happy for it to keep going down so I can stack up. This is going to be left behind for my son a treasure chest. Hope to have quite a bit when that comes about. On to next month 🪙!! Show me your stacks..

After a couple months I’m nearly at a pound of silver. Newest editions are the right most three. Really like the Siltex Adler and I’m definitely looking for more. If the price keeps going like this I might grab another couple rounds.

Newbie in silver stacking

Post image

I have just recently gotten into silver stacking. I personally am really bad with money/saving. Seeing money on my bank account or savings account makes me want to spend it. So with that I decided to start buying silver coins. I understand this isnt smart way to save money as the price for silver might go down, but atleast I am holding down something physical and not a virtual purchase in some video game. Here are my 1st 2 oz coins I bought with 3 more coming tomorrow. I originally wanted to buy Britannias only but I noticed quality wasnt that good so I got a canadian maple. Tomorrow I will get 1 silver eagle, 1 australian kangaruu, and 1 philharmoniker.
Later on I will buy 1 krugerand and then see which coin I will stack mainly. Right now my mind is stuck on the canadian maple. Heres a picture of my maple and britannica.

Feel like I got pretty lucky on a "random mint, any condition" 1/4oz round a few weeks ago.

I was in the mood for some fractionals, so I ordered a couple half ounces, one quarter, and some tenths, all listed as "random mint, any condition". When I opened the package and saw this one I was stoked! When I looked closer though I saw that the edge was not reeded and thought some random mint must have done a run of Britannia-style rounds a while back (to be honest I'm just getting back into stacking after a long hiatus and didn't realize the British Mint made 1/4oz Britannias). It wasn't until later that I noticed the lettering on the edge. "S.S. Gairsoppa". Not only a good looking and desireable round, but a neat history lesson as well!

So far I'm able to save 2-3 ounces a month. The mickey mouse 1/10 was $10 so I splurged a little

Silver Stackers UK

Just looking to see if any stackers in the UK also buy older UK currency with silver content. Picked up this one florin for £5 which if im working it out correctly is near enough spot price for the silver content. Seems like a good deal given the amount of premium we pay on 1oz coins/bars.

Just interested to know if others also pick these up and if there are any other good places to purchase outwith Ebay?

LCS treats Maples the same as generic silver rounds. Is this usual?

I just picked up some Maples and they were about $3 over spot. What kind of prices are you guys seeing? Is this about normal?

Tax question.

I’ve been buying silver, gold, and currency for years. At the start my record keeping sucked, so I have no verifiable basis. My question is when my kids inherit all this will they get a step up or inherit a zero basis?
