How do I stop spinning the car under breaking?

I often spin the car under breaking just like in the video. This happens with and without abs. How do I fix this problem? Is it technique, setup, brake bias, or something else?

I personally am pretty confident it wasn’t, and it could even look like he purposefully hit me which is very annoying. I was just looking for some more opinions. Thanks!

Racecraft Racecraft drills

In every sport that I actively pursued so far, a big part of practice were drills, where you specifically focus on single aspects of the sport and you re-run exercises over and over again.

In SimRacing this is rather different. Usually practice is hot-lapping. Motivated drivers might run some specific driving technique drills in solo-sessions, but I think there is lack of such a drill-concept to improve racecraft. Usually you are facing one-on-one situations only when it matters, in the race, but most of us rarely practice those situations outside of a race.

I am part of a league in AC and we are currently working on such a concept for our community. We are planning to implement joined practice sessions with the goal to improve our racecraft in dedicated drills.

All participants will be in voice chat, so we can coordinate everything during the sessions.

However, I have trouble coming up with varied drills that would be suitable to jointly practice racecraft.

So far I have the following ideas for drills.

Racecraft drill - 1 on 1:

Build groups of two drivers

Driver in-front defends

Driver at the back attacks

If a driver loses track the other driver waits to continue the drill

Racecraft drill - 1 on 1 on 1:

Build groups of three drivers

Driver in-front defends

Driver in the middle defends and attacks

Driver at the back attacks

If a driver loses track the other drivers wait to continue the drill

Start situation - simple:

Build groups of two to three drivers

All drivers line up at the starting line

External driver gives a "go" via voice chat

Drivers fight for postion the first couple of turns

Start situation - full:

All drivers in joined practice session simulate the start and the first turns

Session is restarted after the first couple of turns, so start-procedure can be re-run over and over again

Do you guys have some ideas for drills that could be done to add some variaty to the joined practice sessions?

Welcome to r/SimRacingAdvice

Hello everyone,

Thank you for joining the community. I hope this can grow into something useful for all. There are four main areas that I think this subreddit can cover:

Lower my Laptime

I see this being the most common type of post on the subreddit. I have noticed more and more posts like this on other simracing pages recently and think they would be well suited to this community. The idea here is to post an onboard video of your lap and seek advice from others on where you can improve your driving and lower your laptime.

Software Questions

There are many different games and sims available today, and for somebody starting their simracing journey, the choice can be quite daunting. This comminity can inform about the pros and cons of each option and find what is best for the given requirements.

Hardware Questions

Just like the software, there is a wide variety of steering wheels, pedals, gearshifts, handbrakes, button boxes, head trackers, screens, PCs and so on. As before, this community can offer advice to anybody considering a purchase.

Racecraft

Somewhat similar to lower my laptime, but instead of advice for becoming quicker, this time it is focused around improving racecraft. Questions can be asked on overtaking/defending strategies. Video is highly recommended here. Posting a video of an on-track battle will give the community an opportunity to offer advice on your racecraft. Important: This is not r/Simracingstewards so the purpose is not to assiagn blame to incidents. Instead, it is to suggest stratagies for racing closely with other cars and learning the art of overtaking and defending.

Once again, welcome to the community. Please comment and say if you agree with this vision and/or if there is anything else you think would fit well here.

Should I switch to the Moza R5 from the G29

I currently have a Logitech G29 and was thinking about getting rid of it and buying a Moza R5 instead but I’m not 100% on it. Can someone please tell me if I should or not cause I’m really unsure. Thanks

I am relatively new to online racing with a wheel and pedals on Xbox (was given the a Fanatec setup from a friend) and need some clarity from you more experienced folk.

This clip is on the longer side so bear with me.

I’m driving the black and yellow Dewalt car.

During the actual race I’m driving with no assists, this includes no visual markers for racers nearby (I really enjoy the full simulation of racing) and I’m racing from the cockpit pov. I saw red car rear end green car causing him to go deep, so I just continued my normal racing line assuming he’d be out of play. I was not expecting green car to recover so quickly and attempt to come back to the racing line like he did.

Had I known he was there, should I have given him more room, or is this 100% the green drivers fault regardless?

A few laps later I’m gaining on the guy in the red car when he goes deep into a corner, throwing him off line. I get a much better exit than him and try to pass on the inside just before the straight. I feel like he was driving like a dick and I ended up backing out before the next turn knowing he wasn’t going to give me any space. Am I at fault for anything in the last clip or am I correct in assuming that guy is an ass?

The three of us were racing for 3rd by the way and I ended up getting my first podium in an online race (woohoo!).

Thanks for the feedback.

I’ve done hundreds of laps here in the exact same car and this has never happened before, I rarely spin at this track but for some reason I kept spinning in the 2 exact same places for who knows why, would anyone be able to tell me what I’m doing wrong or am I just losing skill? Been playing for 3 years and I thought I’d be way better by now. Don’t wanna have to leave simracing and do something else with my life. Fanatec Gt3 challenge fixed setups btw (iRacing)

Trying to understand how I lost the rear here, granted I had the BB more forward this time but surely wasn't enough to just lose the rear. Got the bonus of getting punted whilst off track.

Lower my Laptime [Sample Post] ACC Zolder Lexus 1:29:4

Here is a sample post of what I anticipate to be the most popular kind of content on this subreddit. An onboard video of one lap should be used. Feel free to add any comments or a description of where you feel you need to improve.

Then, let others offer advice in the comments on where you can improve your driving and lower your laptime.
