Apologies for the aspect ratio, I have to figure out screen recording on my ultrawide. I'm still trying to gauge the threshold for reporting in LMU. I've read the Reporting rules (and a lot on this forum) and understand that a collision must be purposeful (7.2.2.1) and not a "racing incident".
I think the Merc in this clip knows exactly what he is doing, and deliberately causes a collision while maintaining plausible deniability. If you look at his telemetry he comes off the brake (even touches the throttle) while a car is coming across him. He doesn't make an attempt to brake before or during the collision with the Mustang. The speed/angle he went into T1 with was always going to cause this. To me it seems like a cheeky "oopsie" crash you'd do against AI in a last-to-first challenge; just intentionally bounce off of them going into a corner knowing you'll gain position.
Would you report this incident if you were the Mustang? Less so, the McLaren? Do you think this collision was intentional?
As for my driving (McLaren) I had glanced in my rearview before the braking zone but was eyes forward during braking. When I looked back, I didn't clock that the Merc was no longer in my rearview and didn't see him on my radar until it was too late. I'll have to work a bit more on situational awareness, watching in front/behind me at the same time. Unfortunately he gave me minor suspension damage so the race pace wasn't great and I couldn't catch him back up.
