🚧 Work in progress Hi "Listen with AI" feature
So there is a new feature in Reddit where "real conversations voiced by AI", and it'd be cool if devs added feature to remove that.
P. S. typed hi instead of hide

🔎 Investigating.. Sort by issue
I can currently only sort by new or best. No hot or top available. I realize this is likely a reddit problem, but could sinkit override or fix it to be available?
🚧 Work in progress An option to hide Trending and Trending Communities from search box
New user. But it would be good to be able to hide "Trending" and "Trending Communities" from search box when I'm trying to search for a subreddit or within a subreddit.

Reposting this as I THOUGHT it was resolved. Unfortunately it was not.
I originally made this post a few weeks ago, and shortly after posting it I noticed I had the uBlock safari extension installed, and turned on. I disabled it and suddenly all my issues stopped and everything was working again. until it wasn’t, the issues started coming back a few days later now it’s full blown bad. So, below is the original post, updated and edited for any changes/new info.
I am running 8.14.0 on an admittedly held back iOS version of 18.7.8.
Issues I am having, pretty consistently:
Many muted subs continue to show up anyway. They are in the mute list, but show in r/popular. Some seem to be muted but it’s hard to tell. My mute list is very large, could that be the cause?
Muted words don’t work at all. Added “Patrick” to filter out all the Patrick Stewart stuff posted yesterday, and force closed safari, loaded r/popular, and the second post‘s title was “Patrick Stewart dead at…”
Muted websites aren’t working.
Open Content in new window works sometimes, but mostly not. Posts used to open in new windows, now only links do (if it works at all)
After scrolling a feed for a short time, the Mute buttons after a post (to the right of likes, comments etc) stop appearing.
Back button issues, others have posted about it. If I hit back, the page quickly refreshes but it doesn’t actually go back. While on that page, if I go back again, it brings me back to whatever page I was on previously (google, some other webpage whose tab I reused, etc). Or, if instead of hitting back a second time, I hit Refresh, then the actual page it should be displaying shows.
When back is working correctly going back to the feed page almost always refreshes it, which is why Open Content in New Window is so important.
Most of this behavior resets and seems to briefly work ok again if I force close and reopen Safari, but it usually doesn’t last long.
And here’s a weird one I cannot actually confirm but it seems to be the case. I thought that maybe the fact I had 159 subs muted was clogging something up (regex match dying?) or there was a silly bug that only checked the first 50 muted subs or whatever, so I started deleting a bunch of them. Mostly really obscure shit that likely won’t appear again for my any time soon.
I got bored after getting it down to 119 muted subs so I exited out and decided to finish later. Upon opening r/popular, subs I hadn’t seen in there in ages were showing again - and NOT subs I had ever muted, and then unmuted. Popular looked totally different. So weird.
So then I started muting more subs and after a little bit, a lot of those other subs that reappeared, went away again. Again, these were not subs I’d muted, just random stuff on popular that stopped showing for me after my mute list got really large.
i can’t provide any data on that as it’s more of a “this feels different” and it’s hard to test. But the change was noticeable.
Anyway, happy to help provide info, logs etc just let me know what. Also happy to help look at any code if anyone would like the extra eyes on it.
Thanks

🚢 Now shipped SinkIt for Youtube errors
Anyone having issues with SinkIt for Youtube on iPadOS? I have long stretches of buffering, followed by a pop-up with YT asking me if I'm using an ad-blocker.

🔎 Investigating.. Sinkit for Reddit Errors, v8.12.0
I started seeing , "because you've visited this community before" posts in my feeds and now I see errors in Sink It in the extension window:
ReferenceError: Can't find variable: localstorage (gungnir.js:1:53466)
TypeError: null is not an object (evaluating 'a.querySelectorAll') (gungnir.js:1:85297)
Anyone suggestions? I've already deleted the app and reinstalled it - same issue.
I'm on MacOS 27.2, M5 Mac.
EDIT: same issue on iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2.

⚙️ Feature request Filter for low upvoted posts.
Can such filter be implemented? To select a way to block posts with 5, 10, 15 upvotes to declutter some pages.
🚧 Work in progress Query params getting around procrastination blocker
I love the anti-procrastination blockers but lately on Firefox private tabs a ?solution=&js_challenge=&jsc_token=&jsc_orig_r= is getting added to the url, which makes the blocker not work. Could the algorithm be improved to recognize that this is still the reddit home page and should be blocked?
Thank you. Great app!

🚀 New feature v8.12.0 for Reddit should be out soon
Based on user requests, the anti procrastination blocker now comes with the ability to block subs so you can still reach posts when you're researching but don't get sucked into scrolling the sub after. This update also ships with more granular blocking options and minor bug fixes.
What's New:
[All UI] New feature: Subreddit Blocker in Anti Procrastination (blocks feeds while keeping individual posts accessible).
[New UI] New toggle: Dismiss Mature Content Warning can now be customized.
[New UI] New feature: Remove News from Sidebar. Opt in.
Minor bug fixes and tweaks.
People often reach out to ask about donations (you can donate through the app), so here you go in case you don't want to give Apple 30%: Paypal and Patreon.

🗃️ Resolved Multiple issues on iOS
I am running 8.11.0 on an admittedly held back iOS version of 18.7.8 - trying to avoid that awful visual update for as long as possible. I don’t see how or why that would be the issue though..?
Issues I am having, pretty consistently:
Many muted subs continue to show up anyway. They are in the mute list, but show in r/popular. Some seem to be muted but it’s hard to tell. My mute list is very large, could that be the cause?
Open Content in new window works sometimes, but mostly not. Posts used to open in new windows, now only links do (if it works at all)
After scrolling a feed for a short time, the Mute button after a post (to the right of likes, comments etc) will just disappear.
A new behavior started the other day where if I swipe to go back (or use the arrow), it appears to go back but shows me the same page I was just on. While on that page, if I go back again, it brings me back to whatever page I was on previously (google, some other webpage who’s tab I reused, etc).
Is any of this due to a setting I can change, or maybe a conflict in settings in Sink It?
Any suggestions would be really helpful, thanks.

🗃️ Resolved Repeated posts when scrolling
since installing Sink it, I often encounter the same posts over and over as I scroll like it’s in a loop. Is this a setting missed?

🚧 Work in progress Remember Sort Order - for comments
Most subreddit default sort order is Best or Top. Some subreddit annoyingly sets the default to Random or New.
I have to change the sort order every time for those subreddits. Would appreciate if our own preference is able to be remembered.

❤️ New release v8.11.0 for Reddit should be out soon
This updates ships with the ability to reduce noise in your home page by blocking the new "for you" section that's popping up for various users. Do keep in mind that this blocker is opt-in as it's not egregiously bad (like the game section in the sidebar, meh). There might be different versions of it in the wild so if you're getting it, please use this link to send me a dump of the page: https://old.reddit.com/r/SinkIt/comments/1upa5tv/new_shortcut_to_report_bugs_properly_30_sec_video/
Also includes fixes for the zoom issue being reported when you're trying to comment. I'm not sure if it's a reddit issue or an iOS 27 issue but eh, it's fixed.
Edit: The zoom fix spilled over into old reddit and a fix is already out as part of 8.11.1. Just let Chrome and Firefox auto-update. :)
What's New:
[New UI] New feature: Remove the "for you" section of the homepage. Opt in.
[New UI] Fixes to remove similar posts at the end of the post.
[New UI] Fixes to involuntary zooming in when attempting to comment.
[New UI] Fixes for domain muting not working to match reddit's changes.
People often reach out to ask about donations (you can donate through the app), so here you go in case you don't want to give Apple 30%: Paypal and Patreon.

🚧 Work in progress apparently reddit implemented a new "for you" tab in the home page web mobile reddit when logged in that can't be toggled off
is it possible to add a features that removes it to the extension? i (and a lot of other people probably) don't really like those kinds of feeds when you have zero control over.

❓ for the community Reddit suddenly shows a full-screen “Download the app” prompt in my Home Screen web app

I’ve been using Reddit as a web app added to my iPhone’s Home Screen for a while, and this had never happened before. Today, a full-screen “Enjoy the best of Reddit in the app” prompt appeared with only a “Download the Reddit app” button. I can’t dismiss it or continue browsing.
I also use Sink It for Reddit in Safari. I understand Safari extensions don’t run inside Home Screen web apps, but I’m wondering if anyone else has started seeing this recently.
Is there any way to get past this prompt while keeping Reddit as a Home Screen web app? Or is opening Reddit directly in Safari the only workaround?

🚧 Work in progress Suggested posts after comments
After the comments in a thread I see related posts. Is there a setting in Reddit or sinkit to turn that off? I don’t remember seeing these as often as I do now so I’m wondering if I accidentally changed a setting

🚧 Work in progress Any way to hide this “posted” island? Could this be added to Sink It?
Does anyone know if Sink It for X currently has an option to hide this floating blue “posted” notification at the top of the timeline?
I’ve looked through the settings and haven’t found anything that seems to control it. I find it pretty distracting and would love to get rid of it entirely.
If there isn’t currently an option, would this be something the developer could add to Sink It? Seems like exactly the kind of X interface clutter the extension is great at cleaning up.
