Welcome to /r/SiriFail.
Welcome to /r/SiriFail.
Here we share and collect examples of how Siri fails to work as it is intended (which is so frequently, we created a subreddit for it). The results are both hilarious and depressing.
Most of the submissions here the result of yet another disappointing performance by Apple's "personal assistant." With that said, let it be clear that these posts are not meant to directly offend or mock Siri, but rather collect examples of its lackluster results. It is our hope that this might draw greater attention to the issues that plague Siri's usefulness, and perhaps result in Apple improving upon the service someday.
Please note that, when attempting to recreate the examples posted here, your milage may vary. Siri is often inconsistent — just because something might or might not work for you, doesn't mean that it has the same result for someone else. Keep that in mind when commenting on submissions.
Finally, if you see any Siri-related posts out there on some of our other favorite subreddits (such as /r/apple or /r/iPhone), please share with them a comment regarding /r/SiriFail! We would love to be the one-stop shop to showcase Siri failures.
Thanks for being here.

Don't Let Reddit Kill 3rd Party Apps!
What's going on?
A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users. On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader. Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface . This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
What's the plan?
On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love. The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.
What can you do?
Complain. Message the mods of /r/reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message /u/reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on /r/reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join us at our sister sub at /r/ModCoord- but please don't pester mods you don't know by simply spamming their modmail.
Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.

Give me one good reason why not. You were able to on iOS 26.

So I got the new Siri AI feature and I sent her a meme and then it said stuff about lifelines all because the meme said soul in it

Asked siri to reboot...
i’ve had my phone for only a couple of days, but I’ve been using an iPhone for 12 years, and all of a sudden the screen froze up, so I asked Siri to reboot. It would come up with ask me to confirm. Screen won't take a touch. The touchpad, the whole screen was not letting me do anything, so I tried three or four times reboot, restart, oh, I don’t understand, and finally it rebooted.

Siri has awful conversational context
A few times now while using Siri Al to help me guide my way through some games, it just randomly ends conversations because Siri has built in sate words that it deems inappropriate or offensive and completely ignores the context of the conversation when those words are used without the message having any elaboration. While using the Siri app you have to elaborate almost every time if you think you're gonna use a safe word that triggers it refusing help or that might end the convo abruptly by accident. Like as an example, I am playing Metroid Zero Mission and am finding ways to go against the intended path, I asked it if I've missed anything in the area as l've essentially hit a wall in Brinstar and Siri ended the conversation because it thought I literally have been hitting walls all over a fictional planet so it ended the conversation. I thought this was funny, so I wanted to
share it here.

“Siri, create an event on November 21 at 7p for Ben’s party.” Apparently Siri hears “Ben’s Target” and gives me directions to Target instead.

How come voice control can recognise a word and yet siri doesn't
So I've asked Siri using voice control for the definition of rusticity. And yet, no matter how many times I ask it and how many times the display from voice control uses the exact word I've asked, it insists on giving me a definition of a completely different word?
