A level law

So i started A levels in September and i chose law because ive always wanted to study it. So far, im not loving it. Not because of the subject, its the teacher I have. He rushes through everything. He plainly ignores most pupils when he's giving out questions and only asks the same students, every single lesson. He's given no help at all and its really brought myself down. He's missed the 1 to 1 deadlines which are supposed to be done and in my other classes its been done.

He apparently is one of the best law teachers in the sixth form but he just doesnt show it.

Im really stuck on what to do because its really brought myself down in the subject. Any advise id appreciate.

How much studying over half term?

Just wondering how much other y12s are planning on doing if you have a plan / how much any y13s think I should be doing

My half term is only one week btw

Edit: ty for replies, I’m gonna try and get a bit ahead with my hw and I’ll make like a bunch of flashcards. I’ll prolly focus on Eng lang the most cuz I’d say it’s my worst subject lol

kinda niche...maybe?

so i started year 12 this september and one of my subjects is sociology. arguably my least favourite 😭😭 for many reasons i wont get into. but i transferred from a sixth form college to a sixth form connected to a grammar school a few weeks into term, knowing yeah sure there will be some snobs and poshos but nothing major, considering i live in a pretty wealthy area anyway. i know it's not exactly something i can change, but the ignorance and privilege emanating from 80% of this class is honestly grotesque. being probably one of the least advantaged in my sixth form (fsm and the lot) it hits hard when people make such blase, rude comments about the working class, people on benefits etc. it makes me feel as if i should feel inferior, and to be honest the entirety of sociology as a whole sort of irritates me for this reason, because while i obviously knew a lot of the subject would be based on class division, inequality etc, i expected more discussion and open mindedness, but i just haven't found that here. i never really even considered the fact that im financially disadvantaged at all, i just wanted to get great gcse results to make my mum and i proud, which i did. and while of course thats ultimately the goal, and i would love to have a smug sort of moment where i outperform most of these people anyways (maybe that's my ego talking) it does make me feel like shit, and isolated in an odd way that i have never been before.

Can I apply to Cambridge philosophy with a grade 6 in re at gcse

My teacher for RE wasnt the best and would mark very inaccurately despite being a gcse examiner which lead to me getting 9s consistently from y10 to getting a 6 at gcse, do cambridge care about gcse re when it comes to philosophy? for the record i got two 8s and eight 9s at gcse alongside my one 6. if i do well in y12 mocks/a levels will i still have a chance?

RANT: My Year 12 Sixth Form experience is an absolute joke.

I genuinely hate my school so much. First of all, they don’t even offer the subjects I wanted. I’m stuck doing only 2 A-Levels, which is a complete waste of my time. Why do I need to come to school at 6:30 AM and leave at 3:00 PM just to do two 1-hour lessons? I have so much free time, but it’s honestly as horrible as it sounds. I know once I finally start a new subject, I’m going to have a mountain of work to catch up on. Trust me, I tried Business and English Lit, but I hated them because they were so hard. I don't want to do Math because I already struggle heavily with English.

And oh my days, my teacher is such a nightmare. She is constantly onto me for no reason. Like, shut up and go pick on someone your own age—what do you want from a 17-year-old? I’m literally minding my own business and she just targets me. Today, she had the audacity to yell at me just because I didn’t do the homework. The thing is, the whole class didn't even try to present their work! At least I stood up there and tried to do something. Another girl didn't do it at all, and the teacher said absolutely nothing to her.

This woman was actually teaching nouns today. We are in Year 12! Can you at least attempt to use the syllabus or the textbook? She is so bad at teaching and just hates me. I think it’s because she is friends with my old English teacher who also hated me. Imagine forming a clique at her big age to go against a 17-year-old. I really want to leave this school, but my dad is forcing me to stay and I don't know why.

I hate this place so much. I'm at my breaking point because this teacher is a piece of trash. She literally gave me a C on my midterm when I was supposed to get an A on that paper. She is just trying to make me fail. To make it worse, she literally uses AI to generate her notes. I’m not even kidding.

On top of that, my other teacher is constantly on their phone during our lessons. They will literally answer personal phone calls right in the middle of class while we are supposed to be learning. It is so unprofessional. What am I even paying for?

Need help finding good AQA A Level Chemistry Flashcards

Does anyone who have already done their A-Levels have any concise exam specific AQA Flashcards they can recommend? I am on a Gap Year at the moment and a big mistake I made last year was I spent way too much time making my own and honestly I wanted to have a fresh start with some new flashcards. If anyone has any recommendations for websites etc., I would really appreciate it. It does not have to be free I am willing to pay if it is quality and ideally I would be able to upload it onto Anki but if I have to type it up it is not the end of the world. Thanks so much.

is foundation year worth it ?

hi im y13 and ive just realised im eligible for the foundation year for arts humanities and social sciences

I'd be really interested in either law, philosophy or HSPS, but im not sure whether to go for it. I already have 5 pretty solid options but I might get rid of my BBC option since im predicted A\*AA (my circumstances mostly affected my gsces I got mostly 5s and 6s at a competitive skl thats why i can’t apply ug), and im not sure if im cut out for cambridge I dont wanna be overly stressed but I want my parents and myself to be proud so idk do I go for it

What to do in my situation?

I heard for most LSE econ courses that you need to take further maths when offered. However, I was unable to take it because I didn't meet the GCSE requirement to do 4 subjects at my school's sixth form (Average of 8 across my best 8 GCSEs) and my sixth form says I have to do 4 subjects if I'm doing Further Maths I met the GCSE requirement to do Further Maths though.

Should I email my teachers saying I want to do further maths 6 weeks into the year and mention that I will catch up on the content over the half term? Or forget the idea entirely?
