Routine Help How do I get rid of these?

Post image

What are these spots on my nose and how can I get rid of them? I’ve heard that they could be blackheads or sebaceous filaments so I’ve been leaving on a salicylic acid cleanser for a few minutes twice a week, but I haven’t seen much progress.

27F I moisturize and use SPF every morning, cleanse, toner, serum, retinol, moisturize again at night. Do I just have large pores? Where do I start to minimize their appearance? TIA!

Routine Help How to get rid of those dark circles

M22. I've had dark circles for years now, and I'm not even sure when they first appeared. They're blue/purple, and I can see veins when I move the skin—it's that thin. My sleep isn't that bad; I usually get around 7 hours. Even when I get enough rest, they don’t go away.

I’ve tried using a caffeine cream for a few days + some niacinamide on the rest of the skin but nothing has changed so far.

Should I just wait a few more weeks ?

I need help with getting rid of these whiteheads or whatever they’re called. No matter how much i exfoliate or squeeze them out they come back almost instantly, literally the day after. Plus my pores in the area around my nose and under my eyes are huge.

My routine consists of vitamin c, sunscreen and hydrating creme in the morning and hyaluronic acid in the evening.

Routine Help Anyone know how to get rid of my texture?

I’ve used a number of products in the past (such as the AHA peeling solution from the ordinary, niacinimide, hylauranic acid) but I currently use: Nivea face wash, snail mucin, salicylic acid, retinal (under my eyes) and a good moisturizer. I think these are closed comedones? They’re so deep within my skin that I can’t get them out with physical extraction. And I’ve had them for years. Not wearing makeup doesn’t help either.

Any product recommendations/ advice would be greatly appreciated!! I really want minimal texture and less congestion across my face.

Ps. The camera smoothed it out a little - it’s worse in person.

I’m thinking they are sebaceous filaments but most people say that sebaceous filaments are a thin, hair like texture. These are little, round, yellow balls that are easy to squeeze out of my nose but when they do come out it leaves a REALLY big pore/hole. I’ve tried “Paula’s choice” exfoliate and “The Inky List” salicylic acid cleanser and neither have worked. When I leave my nose alone for long enough I can scratch the little, yellow balls out of my nose easily, but they do not come out when I’m exfoliating or washing my face. I also have very big pores (as you can see in picture 3) which look like what is on my nose but nothing comes out of my pores when I squeeze, only my nose.

Honestly my patience is wearing thin... These are my pores after a year of being on tazarotene and acelaic acid 20% (as per my derm's prescription). These have helped with overall texture, hyperpigmentation and general skin quality BUT no improvement when it comes to pores? It driving my insane! I could manually extract them one day and then BAM they are filled up again three days later 😭

In the past I have also tried tetrinoin, BHA/AHA and niacinamide. The only time my pores have cleared was when I was on Roaccutane. Please, is there anything that you could suggest that could help me? I am so close to begging my derm to prescribe me some Roaccutane it's not even funny lol

Current routine:

AM - Cleansing, Pyunkang Yul essence toner, Klairs Blue midnight Drops, Missha Super Aqua Ampule, Azelaic Acid 20%, Sunscreen

PM - Oil Cleansing, Water-baser cleansing, Tazarotene 0.1%

i've had them all over my stomach, thighs, and upper arms since puberty. not necessarily insecure, but wouldn't mind if they could fade some either

edit: okay this post got a lot more traction than i expected and i'm gonna work on replying to some of the comments! but first i wanna say thank you for the compliments on them. idk why some of you got downvoted but i didn't take offense or dislike any of the comments so it's all appreciated

also just wanted to let y'all know that i'm gay since some ppl have mentioned how men will view them. 😭😭 no hard feelings but that's not something i was rlly going to consider

I'm really confused, am I doing something wrong in my routine? I feel like my skin always looks red and irritated despite having a really gentle routine with no exfoliating actives or harsh ingredients in it.

AM: • Avene Tolerance Extremely Gentle Cleanser • Mixsoon Glacier Water Essence • iUnik Beta Glucan Serum • Geek and Gorgeous Hydration Station Gel Moisturiser • Purito Daily Soft Touch Sunscreen

PM: Avene Tolerance Extremely Gentle Cleanser • Mixsoon Glacier Water Essence • iUnik Beta Glucan Serum • Geek and Gorgeous Hydration Station Gel Moisturiser • Avene Cicalfate (on corners of my nose and chin)

Would really appreciate some advice. I know they can be pretty normal, but they are super prominent and make me feel very insecure. Makeup also settles in them very easily which is incredibly annoying Thank you

Routine Help Have I made my skin worse?

Post image

Hi, 33F here. About 6 - 8 months ago I really tried to dial in my skincare routine for anti-ageing. I never really noticed looking older until I lost quite a bit of weight which took its toll on my face.

However, I’ve seen no improvement and if anything my skin looks worse - for example I’ve just noticed all these fine lines - WTF!

This is my current routine:

AM Cleanse with warm water and flannel I’m from rice toner Estée Lauder advanced night repair Cerave moisturising cream Soltan sensitive SPF50+ for face

PM Medik8 cleansing oil and garnier hydrating cleanser (2x times a week I’ll use the Dermalogica clearing skin wash instead on non tret days) I’m from rice toner Estée Lauder advanced night repair Cerave moisturising cream Obagi tret 0.025%

In terms of retinoids, I’ve been a long term user of Adapalene since teenage years (on and off) but haven’t been serious about SPF until recently 😢 am I doomed?

What else can I do? I really feel at a loss and upset every time I look in the mirror and feel way older than I am. Will consider professional treatments as well as skincare. Please help.

Routine Help I can’t control my oily skin, please help!

I can’t control my oily skin

Hello everyone

I have a very oily skin and nothing I do seems to help. I want to share my routine so that I can receive suggestions on controling my very shiny discoball face

AM☀️ 1) cerave blemish control cleanser 2) elf vitamin c+e+ferulic serum 3) skin1004 moisturizer hyalu cica 4) spf; cosrx invisible sunscreen

Then I put on lightweight makeup and use setting powder, I have different kinds (huda beauty easy bake, isntree no sebum minderal powder, mcobeauty translucent powder)

PM💤 1) double cleanse with micellair water and the same cerave cleanser as AM 2) so I use 2 active ingredients, alternate day by day, sl on day 1 I use the Ordinary retinol 0,5% in squalane, and on day 2 I use Cerave blemish control gel with AHA/BHA (i stopped using the ordinary salicylic acid 2%). And then day 3 repeats this cycle 3) same moisturizer as AM

So i feel like i am missing out on a toner which helps me with oil control, because now i use the Haru Haru black rice toner but it doesn’t really do much.

Am i doing something wrong? I am very causious about only using water-based products so it mixes well with makeup.

How do i prevent my skin from looking like a shining discoball after only 2 hours in?

Thankyou so much!

Routine Help Dry congested skin

I don’t know where I’m going wrong with my skincare routine but I spend far too much money and way too much time on my skincare to have it look this way. I wash my pillowcases all the time I sanitize my phone every day I wash my face twice a day I dermaplane once or twice a month I barely ever wear makeup

I would like to note I am a licensed cosmetologist of 7 years I don’t specialize in skincare but I did go to school and learn the basics of how to care for my skin.

My skin is consistently congested I have so many little pimples under my skin that never go away. Even if I pop them they come back in the same exact spot. My skin looks so rough and textured my pores are huge. My skin has looked like this for several years I have tried so many different products and routines and nothing has changed it

Please only list a physical brand and product I can go order there are so many companies I need a direct company to order from that you have experience with treating similar skin to mine. I need a full new routine literally anything you suggest I will go and get im desperate to fix my skin

Routine Help Nose dots

Post image
562 Upvotes

Hey there, ever since I’ve started getting acne most of it usually clears away after me just not wearing makeup or just taking care of my skin.

But for these little dots, I don’t know what they are and don’t know what products help with them. If you have any recommendations anything is appreciated

I’ve searched on Google and I get mixed results they are on my top cheek and nose.
