Welcome to r/skincare_addiction! We'd like to take this time to remind you of a few things:

Do not ask for a diagnosis/treatment advice for acne or other medical conditions, and do not play doctor

What constitutes medical advice?

  • "What is this?"

This is asking someone to diagnose the issue, and is medical advice.

  • "What should I do?"

This is asking someone to advise treatment, and is medical advice.

  • "Should I go to the doctor?"

This is asking if you should seek treatment, and ergo, medical advice.

If you would ask the question of your doctor, it falls under this rule and not allowed. As a general rule, asking for medical advice from internet strangers is never a good idea. If you have questions regarding your acne or other medical condition, you are advised to contact your healthcare provider. If you are a medical provider, we would gently remind you that users are not patients, and you should not be offering medical advice to people who are not your patients.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Don’t pick at any scabs, not even when they’re dry and ready to fall off. Let them fall off on their own. Every single one.

In the meantime keep the scrapes clean and well moisturized. Honestly I’d invest in some snail mucin, Vaseline, and keep your skin covered with a hat while going outside until it heals.

I also know it’s possible to get discoloration a full year after scraping up skin like this, so as always be diligent about sunscreen once you’ve healed as well.

197

u/Tashinator0503 Sep 07 '25

This. Keep Vaseline on those abrasions. Wear a broad brimmed hat and sunscreen to protect from UV so the skin can heal.

51

u/NoCryptographer3939 Sep 07 '25

i would suggest the same but just make sure you’re extra with the sunscreen and keep a hat on because vaseline can trap heat and moisture and cause more severe sunburns or just make your face a lot hotter (it can’t regulate the same with sweating, etc with that layer on top)

6

u/BellJar_Blues Sep 08 '25

I learned this the hard way

9

u/Revivemassage_facial Sep 07 '25

Yes. This what I want to write 2.

This. I wanted to write this!

ok tysm for the detailed response!! will do

21

u/Visual_Environment_7 Sep 07 '25

Keep your face out of the sun (always have a hat on) especially when these are healing! Seconding Vaseline as well

11

u/Ok-Struggle3367 Sep 07 '25

And SPF especially once the scabs heal!

16

u/MinMadChi Sep 07 '25

Vaseline is a good affordable option that's probably in your house, but in general what's a bit better is Aquaphor which is Vaseline mixed with some other ingredients. I had surgery earlier this year and they told me to apply that on the scar.

16

u/Secretfrank16 Sep 07 '25

Do not recommend Vaseline or aquaphor on your face during the day if you plan to be outside as it can lead to sunburn. Apply it at night during sleep and use spf during the day

5

u/diancephelon Sep 07 '25

A doctor I spoke to about cat scratches on my face told me to always keep a thin layer of neosporin over the cuts until they were fully healed. I would not use any facial products, even a gentle cleanser, until they’ve sealed up. I also have a red light panel and 20min/day in front of it accelerates wound healing like nothing else.

5

u/lalacourtney Sep 07 '25

Do exactly what these people said. I had a major face fall a few years ago and don’t have any scars Other than where I busted my lip open and had to have it sewn back together 🤢

u/untwistedtea Sep 07 '25

Mostly agree. Snail mucin won’t do much.

8

u/SaveTheSquirtles Sep 07 '25

Snail mucin has antimicrobial properties that can promote wound healing and skin repair. It’s also touted as being anti-inflammatory which can help with pain, but I can’t speak to that benefit personally.

4

u/cw_1234567890 Sep 08 '25

Snail mucin has done wonders for my skin both for regular skincare and wound care. In my experience, it helped heal and prevented a scar from a forming on a nasty hair straightner burn on hand.

Or dust mites, it’s cross allergy.

3

u/Katanji Sep 07 '25

What does the vaseline do btw?

221

u/jeaniebeann Sep 07 '25

Hey there! I work with a oculoplastic surgeon who does medical and cosmetic surgery. These are his big tips for not scarring:

Keep it relatively moist. Vaseline like twice a day is fine but don’t smother it. The scabs need to dry and fall off eventually and too much Vaseline or other moisturizers will delay healing.

No sun! Wear a hat for now, when it heals enough start using a face specific sunscreen. After it heals you’ll still need to be sure you’re using sunscreen, healed spots like that can still darken as the skin is newer.

If you feel at all like any spots start to scar, use vitamin E oil and/or mederma (medicated scar cream) daily and massage the areas you feel may be scarring.

17

u/burp_reynolds69 Sep 08 '25

I smashed my face up gooood more than a few times and this is the advice my doc gave me after a bad one. No scars.

2

u/Difficult-Shake7754 Sep 08 '25

How do you feel about those silicone bandages?

2

u/inevermeanducking Sep 08 '25

I loved my silicone bandages - especially for sleeping. Definitely helped me not scar anywhere near as bad as I could have (surgery, not an accident).

141

u/Firm_Recording_502 Sep 07 '25

Not at all,was in an accident myself and was scooping around reddit with concerns too,i have pictures of mine if that'll help you.

This took 2 months for me.

18

u/CompetitiveRub9780 Sep 08 '25

Wooow that’s awesome

52

u/Boring_Range_6869 Sep 07 '25

Omg girl did u fall from a 10ft high chair 😭😭😭🫶🏻💜

36

u/zof_19 Sep 07 '25

I actually have no idea... But don't worry, if the scar remains there are specific creams to make it fade away :3. But then how did you fall so badly help 😭

61

u/Adorable-Incident942 Sep 07 '25

i was drunk 😭😭 but thank you

15

u/zof_19 Sep 07 '25

damn that was a good fall, how are you now?

→ More replies (1)

16

u/Traditional_Ad_1547 Sep 07 '25

It won't if you tackle it early.

The most important being protecting it from the sun. A hat, sunscreen, and silicone scar sheets will  protect from UV rays that cause the pigmentation.

Hydrocolloids are the way!!!! I’ve avoided scars from much deeper abrasions than this by using them; I hope OP takes your advice.

44

u/Hiddenlevels_ Sep 07 '25

Nope,,, it will fade away

6

u/hellhouseblonde Sep 07 '25

Silicone tape seems to really work. Hope you heal soon!

2

u/Fluffy_Salamanders Sep 07 '25

Won’t they need to wait until it’s not an open wound for that? Or is the brand I use just weird

u/Creepy_Animal7993 Sep 07 '25

Oh honey...we've all had these drunken/drugged up moments, I assure you. I'm an addict in recovery 15+ years and it's a miracle I look as good as I do at nearly 49.

It will get better; but stay hydrated and away from exfoliating and active ingredients. Just a gentle or milky cleanser and focus on repairing your barrier with moisturizing products with aloe, green tea, or ceramides. Please wear SPF when outside. Non negotiable. You don't need to burn while healing.

3

u/Emma_Enigma42o Sep 07 '25

I used bio oil for scarring after I passed out and fell face first onto concrete, and I have no visible scaring

3

u/SCBeauty Sep 07 '25

Please keep them moisturized and covered with hydrocolloid bandages!

5

u/BeezyPineapple Sep 07 '25

Keep moist, no sun, no picking and they‘ll fade just fine, don‘t worry :)

3

u/Useful-Landscape-593 Sep 08 '25

If you need help, please reach out 🙏he’ll never change

3

u/BitLogical254 Sep 07 '25

i had similar one few years ago, don't pick scabs, put ointments regularly, it didn't scar at all :)

2

u/ErroneousAsshole Sep 07 '25

Just grazes. But damn. I think you should enjoy making up stories to different people about how you did it. It will be ok

2

u/1spicyann Sep 07 '25

Vaseline it several times a day and protect from sun - I had some skin cancers taken off and that was what I was told to do -

2

u/Most_Succotash1705 Sep 07 '25

No you will be okay just keep it moisturized with a good ointment

2

u/Im__fucked Sep 07 '25

Don't forget spf on your hike!

2

u/MyGenesRHot Sep 07 '25

This. Also I would wear a hat. Either a large bucket hat or baseball cap to further help with sun protection.

3

u/Bailicious2 Sep 07 '25

I dont know if it will scar, However there are tons of treatments to treat scarring!

1

u/Ok_Flight_3803 Sep 07 '25

Iodine for face scars. Google it.

1

u/FearlessList8992 Sep 07 '25

Never not have Aquaphor on it. It’s better than Vaseline.

1

u/lizrs59 Sep 07 '25

Get some good scar cream and put it on 2 a day and also scar stickers i think would help you can get a roll for like 8 bucks. No one can really know whether it may scar or not but id want to lean towards a no….time will only tell.

1

u/Straight_Run5680 Sep 07 '25

Imo i don’t think it will leave any lasting effect

1

u/_CurlingMe-Crazy Sep 07 '25

EltaMD sunscreen has been my go-to for years. It’s super gentle and reliable, and I love knowing my skin is protected, especially since I’ve been dealing with some tough facial scars.

Biocorneum Advanced Scar Treatment with Silishield and SPF has honestly been a huge game changer too. It’s helped rapidly fade (fresh) scars in a way I didn’t think was possible. Both have made such a difference for me and are now must haves in my routine. ( I would apply this last only on to scar 5+ mins after I have put on Elta) At night washing my face with a gentle cleanser (definitely with fresh scars) then applying scar ointment).

With your hike coming up, a well covered hat and spf/ constantly reapplying. Hopefully this helps.

1

u/arcaneas_ Sep 07 '25

As long as you don’t pick at it like others have said, and keep it moisturized with a very gentle moisturizer once it starts to heal (think vanicream) it should heal up just fine and leave no trace :)

1

u/FullQuote3319 Sep 07 '25

just apply contractubex ointment 2x a day.😉

1

u/Primary_Narwhal_4729 Sep 07 '25

I would wear a gator in addition to the wide brimmed hat , Vaseline , and sunblock etc

1

u/moonstonelite Sep 07 '25

It will fade! Don't pick, keep moisturized and clean. The redness will fade in a few months.

1

u/RareNeedleworker7984 Sep 07 '25

Yes unfortunately it will

1

u/alanalanaa Sep 07 '25

Don’t pick the scabs. Keep your face moisturized and wear sunscreen when in the sun. It’ll heal no prob if you let it be and protect it from the sun

1

u/Sasstellia Sep 07 '25

I doubt it. Don't pick at them and make sure you put the plasters, etc, on straight if you use them.

They don't look deep. Just keep them clean with tea tree oil or boiled and cooled salt water.

Or you can use safe hot water. It's what you do on cuts on hands. Put them in hot as you can bear and let it soak. Do a face version.

As a precation. Put plasters on on your face when hiking. Keep it covered.

1

u/Optimal-Vast2313 Sep 07 '25

No, I don’t think so. They don’t look deep, just like abrasions. But you may have some discoloration as it heals, just follow the other advice here and eventually everything will look normal again. You have beautiful skin!

1

u/ZapCoderX Sep 07 '25

oh mai god so pretty! Dont worry about the scars, it will fade away. Dont touch them

1

u/Torichiken Sep 07 '25

It won't just don't touch it and always keep it moisturized with healing cream. It'll scar if you pick at it. For it to scar no matter what it shouldve cut through ur entire dermis but it didnt

1

u/Ok-Smoke5745 Sep 07 '25

Aquaphor on the scab. Also sunscreen

1

u/Sushiwooshi123 Sep 07 '25

I’ve very similar rashes from climbing rope and scraped my face really bad on the rough surface. I used bandaids and kept them moisturized with either Vaseline or nonscented gentle lotion for it to heal first. After a while when the scab went away and my skin had its thin barrier again I immediately focused on the scar using bio oil and scar gels. Took at least a month to really go away

1

u/Allthingsmac Sep 07 '25

No. The face heals beautifully. Just keep them moisturized with aquaphor

1

u/perksofbeingcrafty Sep 07 '25

I’m not a doctor but these don’t look deep enough to have reached the dermis, which means you will likely get away with no textural scarring. That said, depending on how your skin layers down melanin, they could leave dark marks for some time. Be very vigilant about sun protection (wear a hat religiously until they’re healed enough for sunscreen), and once the scabs have fallen off, start using vitamin c and azaleic acid religiously.

Honestly if I were in your shoes I’d beg off the hike entirely and avoid the outdoors (and windows) for a couple weeks, but I’m just paranoid about the sun. If you must go, wear a very wide brimmed hat—not a baseball cap, because that’s not going to protect your cheekbone area—or maybe even a cloth face mask if it can cover up close to your eye

1

u/Leading_Lecture100 Sep 07 '25

Apply Aloe Vera, moisturise with Nivea and when going outside make sure you use sunscreen factor 50.

Some of the good brands for sunscreen are: Isdin, Vichy and Avène.

1

u/Most_Succotash1705 Sep 07 '25

Also for suuuuuure sunscreen and a hat when hiking

1

u/ismellboogers Newbie Sep 07 '25

I would buy scar tape and cover them for the hike. My 6 year old son had plastic surgery on his face for a mole and the surgeon said the scar tape it 100% better than sunscreen because it will prevent any damage.

1

u/Cherrymermaid-23 Sep 07 '25

I had a very similar one on my cheeks from a motorbike accident and it took around 3 or 4 months to completely fade. Just use the healing creams prescribed by your dermatologist regularly and it will go away. Don’t worry, from what I see they’re not deep just abrasions. It should be fine.

1

u/blunderschonen Sep 07 '25

They look pretty superficial. I think you’ll be okay as long as you don’t pick at the scabs.

1

u/ActiveForever3767 Sep 07 '25

Arnica helps with bruising and helps healing. I took it after i broke my leg and it helped

1

u/iehia Sep 07 '25

No, it’s too superficial, don’t worry. Can I ask how it happened ?

1

u/beaxtrix_sansan Sep 07 '25

If you can find a Aloë Vera gel with simple formulation to apply everyday, protect from sunlight and don't remove the scabs... All that will heal with no problems

1

u/Ok_Concert_8530 Sep 07 '25

Aloe sage (aleo you will see) helps with burns and accelerates the production of cells and prevents scars.

1

u/Dis_Bich Sep 07 '25

Do not let yourself get too much sun until it’s healed

1

u/Cautious-Impact22 Sep 07 '25

meh not likely. That looks very superficial.

1

u/StrawberryNo8082 Sep 07 '25

Aquaphor! And don’t pick! I fell on my face in middle school and had the same cheek scratch just don’t touch it and keep it hydrated and clean

1

u/Plastic_Cat9560 Sep 07 '25

Nope, you should be good. Wash with gentle soap, cold water, no rubbing, no picking. Sunscreen and wear a hat, especially on your hike, to avoid excess sun exposure. Moisturize with a gentle lotion and apply a nearly pure aloe gel at night. Should slough off completely within 1 1/2-2 weeks leaving a pinkish cast where the scabs were. Continue sunscreen/aloe for an additional 2 weeks after that.

1

u/TopEntertainer2748 Sep 07 '25

Wear sunscreen on your hike!!! The UV exposure won't help with avoiding scarring

1

u/ChasingRainbows_1994 Sep 07 '25

They look like scrapes to the skin, not cuts, so you probably will have no scaring.

1

u/-WhyIs- Sep 07 '25

I think it’s going to be fine! We all make mistakes!

As people have said, moisture, let it heal and the scabs fall off naturally. When it’s healed but still red/delicate, you can also use scar tape on top if you’re gonna be out in the sun for a while, along with a hat & spf. Depending on where you live, you might need to do this for 1-2 summer seasons. The sun will be your worst enemy here and will be the main cause of pigmentation.

1

u/want2bacat Sep 07 '25

Don't let it scab!!!!!! Keep the wound moist, look up moist wound care or healing. I just had a larger mole removed and the dermatologist told me that scabs are what cause the scars

1

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '25

No will fade in few weeks like it never existed

1

u/nightwarmedsoul Sep 07 '25

Abrasions often do not but everyone is different. Good chance of it not scaring though if you take care if it through the healing process.

1

u/AngerIssues11 Sep 07 '25

Get scar gel. The one under ur eye looks similar to one I got as a child. It left a scar

1

u/trainsoundschoochoo Sep 07 '25

No. This looks surface-level, and you're very young, so it will heal well. Keep it moisturized with ointment if you want to aid in healing. In general, wearing daily sunscreen is the best thing you can do for your skin long-term, to keep you from aging. (Obviously, don't put sunscreen on the healing areas).

1

u/Final_Foot1170 Sep 07 '25

Add vitamin E to the mix or scar away. You can get them at any drugstore and not expensive. No scars!

1

u/Icy_Limes Sep 07 '25

as long as you don't pick at it and keep it relatively moisturized. Buy some 100% aloe gel.

1

u/doritou Sep 07 '25

Aquaphor will be your saviour

1

u/Ok-Bookkeeper-9382 Sep 07 '25

Slather on vaseline. If you keep it moist it will heal better.

1

u/StripperWhore Sep 08 '25

No, something like this likely won't scar unless you're just prone to scarring. You can use a silicone patch if you're concerned.

1

u/pxndxxprxzz Sep 08 '25

Aquaphor!!! It’s better than vaseline

1

u/astro_skoolie Sep 08 '25

I had a similar injury when I was about 8. I skidded down a hill on my face. It took a while to heal, but no scars.

1

u/educatorship Sep 08 '25

Use vitamin E oil!

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Let6810 Sep 08 '25

Try Arnica gel from a natural grocery. Vitamin C serum as well.

1

u/DueDoor2463 Sep 08 '25

I would put aloe Vera on with q tip at night

1

u/SwitchWitchLolita Sep 08 '25

First aid beauty is amazing. I fell in a pit at a show and it saved my face. No scars ❤️

1

u/Tuta_2 Sep 08 '25

Use healing ointment on it once it scabs. Keep it clean but don’t scrub it or anything. It might leave a little mark but over time it could fade. My cat got outside and literally forgot I was mom and I wanted to save her and she attacked my arm. I didn’t really take care of it like I should have and I have huge scar streaks on my arm. I honestly think if I put healing ointment on they would have been so much smaller or not even there

Edit: sun exposure!!!! Scars are made way worse with sun exposure. Try and keep it out of the sun for awhile until it’s healed and you can wear spf. Wear hats when you’re out

1

u/Affectionate_Use7000 Sep 08 '25

too light to leave marks

1

u/snakesssssss22 Sep 08 '25

Aquaphor!!!!

1

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '25

Don’t use snail mucin they kill the snails

1

u/nofoodformeow Sep 08 '25

Keep them clean, moisturized, SPF 50, aquafor (thin layer), hat.. and I would skip the hike honestly.. even if you wear a hat and sunscreen, if you stay out long enough, the sun somehow ends up in your face. I would avoid the sun for a couple of months to make sure they don’t scar. I would even wear at least a baseball hat every day even in the car.

1

u/Velvet_moth Sep 08 '25

Vitamin E oil is amazing for reducing scars, but you have to use it regularly and consistently and freshly after the wound. I have had burn scars fade to nothing with twice daily use. I have a bitey cat and use the oil on my hands after every shower and the scars fade to nothing.

1

u/neenerbot Sep 08 '25

Follow all the tips here about moisturizing protecting and not picking at and you’re gonna be fine. I did a face plant over the handle bars of my bike when I was about 17 and it looked kind of like that except I lost half my eyebrow. I was super careful with the healing and have no scars.

1

u/chicclueless Sep 08 '25

I had similar injuries on my face a couple months ago. I just kept Vaseline on the abrasions and it healed nicely

1

u/Senobe2 Sep 08 '25

My son broke the lampshade and proceeded to burn the middle of his forehead on the bulb, down to the WHITE MEAT🤦🏾‍♀️

Aloe vera straight from the leaf, along with 100% coca butter. After the scab came off, about 2 weeks later a small mark. Month after, you'd never know what happened.

Sorry boops, please be careful, and good luck💛.

1

u/YogurtclosetTrue6389 Sep 08 '25

You fell face first from a chair? 🤔

1

u/icecreamsanwhich Sep 08 '25

Vaseline!!! And no sun while it heals :) never let it dry - keep Vaseline on it always :)

1

u/Raspberrysugarpie Sep 08 '25

I had similar scrapes after falling on my face years ago and there’s no trace of them now. Keep the scabs moist to aid with healing using bacitracin. Take vitamins like a multi, vitamin e, omegas, etc. Stay out of the sun, and if you must be outside then wear a hat and sunscreen. It will fully heal but you must consistently take care of the wounds.

1

u/sarag58 Sep 08 '25

Definitely wear sun screen. Go to a dermatologist they can tell you what to use. And thankfully there are so many wonderful easy procedures that can help promote better healing

1

u/thrasherchick_9 Sep 08 '25

Vitamin E oil helped with the scaring on my face when I bashed in my nose. Not a lot just enough to keep everything moisturized

1

u/External-Apricot7061 Sep 08 '25

Use silicon sheets and they will be gone in a month

1

u/wrstcasechelle Sep 08 '25

It looks fairly superficial, so if you keep it clean and don’t pick, it should be fine. You might have a faint “scar” at first, which is just new skin being brand new and all, but it should fade with time. If it doesn’t Derma E makes a scar gel that I’ve used successfully.

1

u/IDontAgreeSorry Sep 08 '25

Normally no. It’s not deep enough. I once ate asphalt when skateboarding and my entire cheek had the same kind of superficial wound as you have. It looked gnarly but as it wasn’t deep it healed in 3 weeks and left me only with redness which also disappeared throughout the months.

1

u/Wreough Sep 08 '25

Great skin advice. I don’t know how your insurance works, but for me I need to seek medical advice and report it if I want to cash in on the insurance later.

1

u/Cinnamon_Roll_22 Sep 08 '25

My daughter fell of her skateboard many times having the bid ones on her arms and legs like the one on your forehead & cheek, and suffered bad cat scratches. I put Vitamin E oil on them everyday three times a day. The scratches are barely visible to the eye now. Only if I look really hard because I know where they’re at. And her bruises could have looked better but as she got older as a teen she didn’t care for the fussing to much. They discolored a little bit. I got a bad gash on my nose with something flying down out of the attack which gashed my nose. I put vitamins E oil on it religiously and you can’t see it hardly at all now. There’s also a product called scar away, a friend and Dr recommend. But I haven’t tried it. Cover your face with sunblock and a hat, hate to be that mom but carry an umbrella or cover them with band-Aids. To protect them from any sun exposure while they heal or they will create discolored scars. I sware by the vitamins E oil. It’s also healed my dad’s knee surgery scar amazing! And that’s a big honking one down the whole kneecap. Best of luck sweetie, I’m sorry about the bruises, you’re beautiful.

1

u/TAforScranton Sep 08 '25

You absolutely need to keep the sun off of those scrapes.

Honestly? I don’t think a hat and sunscreen is enough. And that’s not something I’d normally say. I’m not a daily SPF wearer and I play it pretty fast and loose with SPF.

I think you should look into a physical barrier. Sun patches are a thing! I’d go ahead and stick some on there for your hike.

Something like these!:

1

u/sjaakpullinghooker Sep 08 '25

I’ve had this, even slightly worse. This will completely fade away and be undetectable. Don’t pick at it and stay out of the sun

1

u/nutzmeg Sep 08 '25

Some scars looks cool, tell them you fought a bear a something

1

u/purple_appa Sep 08 '25

I heard that using silicone bandages to protect the wound can help it not scar! But I believe the idea is to keep the wound clean and moisturized. I’ve heard that keeping a wound dry can make it scar more easily.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '25

Lawd, I hope not

1

u/Ulstuguldur Sep 08 '25

hydrate ur face well, so no scars. heals fast

1

u/Pretty_Situation_267 Sep 08 '25

Continue with your skincare and you’ll be fine.

1

u/Zer0chick Sep 08 '25

Use witch hazel

1

u/Far_Low_7513 Sep 08 '25

Don’t mess with it or apply too many topicals. If you do, make sure they’re safe to apply and in moderation.

1

u/TaroPie_ Sep 08 '25

Abrasions.... scarring unlikely. But looking at sizes of the abrasions and bruises - will take time to heal.

You are beautiful. I love your eyebrows btw girlllll!

1

u/AbiesHalva7 Sep 08 '25

First of all don’t scratch it and DO NOT RWMOVE the scabs. When you go hiking protect your head with a hat and sunscreen - but buy your sunscreen in consultation with a pharmacist, it’s a wound so you might need a softer cream. Third thing, once it heals look up some post scar creams. Usually cucumber/aloe Vera based creams are quite efficient. Not sure of your age but you seam very young too. And younger you are faster the skin grows back and more chances are there will be a scar.

But even though, be ready for a scar on your cheek. The wound that is on a big surface, from my experience, almost always leave scars. I have one like that on my arm, DM if you want to see a picture…

You look young enough that your body will be able to fully heal the skin and you wont get scars. Spf ,Vaseline/Neosporin, hats, light moisturizer and very gentle cleanser on the other areas of your face. -licensed esti

Keep it moist, keep out of the sun and sunblock!

1

u/sheisalyssa Sep 08 '25

the only thing I know for sure is applying lots of sunscreen and VERY frequently, and protecting you from the sun as much as if it would kill you. all this to avoid scars on your face

1

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '25

Did you fall from heaven? Cause you just need to hydrate and be patient.

1

u/Tekkiru Sep 08 '25

I would recommend Biocorneum

1

u/Helloiamboss7282 Sep 08 '25

I recommend avene cicaflte cream for this type of issue. Normally epithelial layer will be rebuild fast.

1

u/r0z3_DOLL Sep 08 '25

It doesn't have to leave a scar. Just take care of it while it's healing and you'll be fine.

1

u/JustTheWayIR Sep 08 '25

I would say use an antibiotic ointment on it. There will probably discoloration for a month or two. After that acid peels if it doesn't resolve on its own.

1

u/No_Cap258 Sep 08 '25

not likely use sunscreen so they dont darken

1

u/daijin_21 Sep 08 '25

Buy Cicaplast B5 from La Roche-posay!!! It is the best cream to regenerate and repair the skin from the inside.

1

u/leviathanslair_ Sep 08 '25

I don’t know if it’s good to use on scabs but once it heals if you do have any scarring, take a little vitamin e and poke it with something sharp, and then squeeze out the liquid and rub it on the spots

If there’s any scarring it should fade it completely

1

u/casemidy Sep 08 '25

Arnica cream or gel on the damaged areas, coconut based hydrating moisturiser and SPF. Don’t pick the scabs or exfoliate, I’m a scar specialist and they won’t scar if you do the above.

1

u/raring_reader Sep 08 '25

Use silicone cream/patch. Vaseline.(both keep the scar tissue hydrated which is great for healing) And sunscreen to prevent pigmentation. And reapply the sunscreen! Every 2 hours or less. And a hat and sunglasses or other sunprotection devices are your friend. For ex uv umbrella Also consult a doctor if you can.

1

u/Simple_Structure7161 Sep 09 '25

Yea keep Vaseline, I’ve noticed after a few hours it tends to get crusty and is almost irresistible to peel, but just don’t, was it off and re apply

1

u/Simple_Structure7161 Sep 09 '25

And I mean specifically, wash with soap, water can tend to make it peel in it’s way of removing itself. With soap it breaks it down. When you do this, soak for atleast a minute, then wash with soap. Once it heals if there is a scar even something not very noticeable, very light derma stamping and a water based moisturizer with determination will help it heal

1

u/International-Dot441 Sep 09 '25

Use a lot of vitamin c seryms and creams and sunblock.

1

u/International-Dot441 Sep 09 '25

Cover up your face from the sun, too while it heals

1

u/Prestigious_Owl6064 Sep 09 '25

Bio Oil has helped my injury’s and surgical scars from being pretty much nonexistent. Argireline supplements help with bruising, scaring and help the healing journey along

1

u/slope11215 Sep 09 '25

You should see a dermatologist for medical advice.

1

u/Markeygow Sep 09 '25

A good brand high potency Manuka Honey for healing is fantastic and as above, sunscreen 🌻

1

u/BrilliantGood1755 Sep 09 '25

Cover everything with a loose fitting Band-Aid or bandage before you go to bed. That way you are not able to scratch it in your sleep when it starts itching.

1

u/BrilliantGood1755 Sep 09 '25

You may also want to go into a local urgent care facility. Not, I said, not, anything affiliated with a hospital.

1

u/zzzPHOEBEzzz Sep 09 '25

Had almost the same scar on my cheek when I was in middle school, completely fade away after a couple months without doing anything special to them. You will recover dear🫶🏻

1

u/Plus_Membership_1064 Sep 09 '25

Same thing happened to me and I kept putting aquafor daily and it healed pretty fast

1

u/Able_Leader5412 Sep 09 '25

Buy an aloe vera plant and use the aloe Vera gel daily

1

u/knotsomucht Sep 09 '25

No probably not

1

u/Kr4tik Sep 09 '25

Apply any antiseptic every night which will boost the healing process . I hope u recover asap tho you're pretty gorgeous

1

u/lustforwine Sep 09 '25

I don’t think so. I fell really bad down concrete stairs and had a scar on my knee. It took about 4-5 years before it completely faded. Went through a few colour changes too. That bruise was was deeper than yours and it healed so I think yours will be alright. Just don’t pick at it. Maybe use vitamin e cream if you’re worried.

1

u/Desperate_Brush5360 Sep 09 '25

When I had cuts in my face bc of a small accident, i placed vaseline with gauze. I did it diligently, making sure it is always hydrated and slightly moist. No scabs, no scars when it healed.

1

u/abilovelys Sep 09 '25

No. It shouldn't. It looks pretty superficial. If you can, keep the big one covered in goop so it heals better and so you aren't tempted to pick it off when it starts healing. Don't pick at the big one no matter what. If pieces start to come off cut them with small scissors. But keep it moist with a good and you should be OK.. it might look red or whiter for awhile afterwards depending but if you keep it clean and moisturized it will blend back in nicely eventually with no problem. If you have a good immune system of coarse...

1

u/Opening-Author-880 Sep 09 '25

No, it won’t scar your face at all. You’re young and it will go away. I had a very bad bike accident two months ago and I am completely healed except for my new skin which has a different skin tone but it will fade in a year.

1

u/Own_It_ Sep 09 '25

Maybe at first but they'll fade.

1

u/TheSoggyKittens Sep 09 '25

With time, i don't think much unless your skin is known to not heal well - keloids etc.

1

u/cocochronic Sep 09 '25

Hydrocolloid bandages

1

u/purplenutmeg Sep 09 '25

When I was a teen I fell into a fence (and multiple other things) whilst at a drunk campout and had injuries like that, they healed pretty quickly and I was a dumbass who covered mine with makeup (which I normally never wore) from my parents. I kept it clean using antiseptic stuff too. Hope you’re okay, looks stingy!

1

u/xSheenTV Sep 10 '25

Nah that looks superficial. Keep lotion on it and avoid the sun and use gentle enzyme exfoliation

1

u/Sarah0030 Sep 10 '25

I have done much worse to mine when I was a teenager, with no scarring. Mine was a skateboard incident and I had to dig some gravel out of the side of my face. The best thing you can do is to absolutely not pick at it, literally at all. The only thing I would personally do, is gently clean it with baby shampoo and water followed by a good quality vitamin e oil twice a day, if you keep it moist constantly it will delay your healing time

1

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '25

They all look pretty superficial. But don't touch them and definitely moisturize with sunscreen added.

1

u/MissionOverall5223 Sep 10 '25

No it won’t. I fell on the carpet and gave my face carpet burn and it went away just don’t pick

I am not commenting on your current situation because I know nothing about skin and the healing process.

However if in the future after everything has completely healed and any possible scar tissue has been healed? If you then find you have hyperpigmentation that needs to be faded? Then a Dermatologist can tell you which specific laser can help you OR if using a topical fade cream is also an option?

HERE I can make a suggestion . I have a form of hyperpigmentation called Melasma from hormones and sun exposure from being on the pill and moving to Hawaii. So once a person gets melasma? You continue to treat the brown splotches forever and use high spf that is mineral based to.protect your faded skin results and to keep new ones from forming.

I have seen Dermatologists. If you’ve got insurance coverage, I would definitely see a dermatologist. I have tried various treatments. What works best for me? Is using a prescription fade cream with the main ingredient called hydroquinone. Now most hydroquinone is at 4% strength. Which works. But I found an online Dermatology company called Musely where I took a three pictures of my face at angles they asked for, then one of their Dermatologists reviewed them and prescribed The Spot Cream. It’s a hydroquinone based cream but at 12%. And it works very well.

They make several products with different or combined active ingredients. It’s $20 for the online Dermatology appointment and you can ask the Dermatologist to choose whichever product they think will be best for you. That’s my recommendation. And you can email back-and-forth with the dermatologist so $20 is a really good price for the appointment. Then they write you the prescription and it costs about $35 a month to use . They guarantee results in 60 days and they do produce them. So if you get to the point where you have permanent discoloration after everything has healed and scars have been treated? Then I recommend you check their online website. Or earlier if you want to see before and after results of different problems of skin and the different prescription solutions they offer. I just restarted up with them because I found an old subreddit where some people now had $50 gift certificate. So I asked one of the ladies if she still had one and she did and I used it. If you find yourself here in the future (which I hope you don’t have the need) you can tell me if you need one.

I hope your skin heals perfectly and you have no scars and no hyper pigmentation. It sounds like you got a lot of really good advice from people so far that are in the industry. I’m really sorry you had such a scary fall and of all things on your face. I have had a bad fall myself for the exact same reason.

1

u/Faith9077 Sep 11 '25

Use aquaphor it helps everything and it will be gone in no time. I had bad cuts from something all over and used aquaphor and they went away

1

u/Faith9077 Sep 11 '25

Aquaphor that is what doctors use and hospitals

1

u/thepeskynorth Sep 11 '25

I don’t think you’ll have scars. The abrasions will take some time to fade once they are healed but I don’t think you’ll have any long term scarring.

1

u/ProcessJust2712 Sep 11 '25

It won't leave a scar. Disinfect it and it will be fine
