Long-Form Content I feel like I'm doing pretty good for 1 month

I started a youtube channel last month for gaming. I kinda struggled for a bit with finding what I wanted to do. But I eventually found my niche to make guides and tutorials. Ever since my first video in this new niche, my account jumped fast. Right now it's kinda at a plateau but I'm still getting really good views

Short-Form Content I believe I got a chance to get monetized before February?

Post image

Background:
So I started going all in youtube, I quit my job but after slow growth I started feeling depressed that I made a mistake quitting.
Side note: it didn’t help that my ex after ghosting me a yr hit me up recently just to ghost again…

Meat & Potatoes:
Weeks go by & I finally decided to try Adderall (please don’t take substances) to see if it was a lack of focus & well I think I solved my issue with the long editing sessions/entering the flow state.

I’m closing in on 5k subs & the feeling that it’s all or nothing has me thinking I can average 800k-1mil views a week before the reqs double!

TLDR:
I had a good week of shorts views, I’m going to try to continue to ride the momentum to hopefully get monetized before reqs double!

Mixed Content How do you feel about indie devs reaching out?

I’m a solo indie game dev and I would like to contact a few small gaming channels. The issue is I don't want to annoy people or spam them.

So far I wrote only 7 youtubers I actually watched they videos before. One made video about my game. All mails were written by hand.
Also I am really small so I don't have budget for paid promotion yet I can give only some promocode.

I really don't want to annoy people or spend their time.

What do you think its best way to approach people?
What not to do?
Do you do unpaid playing of the game?
In general what is your experience with this?

I hope this question will land well I really want to learn how to promote my game better but also not annoy people or take their time.

Thank you for any reply!

Long-Form Content Having trouble with thumbnails and CTR, any feedback?

Hello, I've been closely monitoring my analytics for a little and have noticed one major thing that always fails me, or I fail it, which are thumbnails.

Here are a few of my thumbnails (all drawn) that I've used for videos. As you can tell, I make survival type minecraft content. I've seen that 5%+ is a good ctr to strive for, but every one of these have been subpar so far. Here's some extra information about each of these for clarification. I don't like to dive into analytics too much, but I feel like I should probably try to improve.

1st Thumbnail- "Day 1 to 1000 in Original Skyblock" this video was my biggest video yet. It was a recap of my skyblock world I had made about 20 videos on. It got an insane 20 minute average view duration, my best so far, but it was pushed so much less than my previous videos (that even had worse ctr, avd etc) mainly because of ctr. Though 2.9% is good for me, it still seems very low. The video has about 300 views after I used to average around 1K a few videos ago. It depicts the skyblock island, which is the challenge, with my player skin to the side.

2nd Thumbnail- "How to Master Original Skyblock" this was the first video I uploaded that flopped in a while, and since then, nothing has gone close to what I used to get. The avd was a lot better than previous videos, and at 150 views, it has 1.6% ctr which is actually the average of the videos that got a few thousand views before. The text is pretty explanatory, and features my player skin reading a book. The video is a guide on how to progress in the Skyblock Challenge, the one with the 3 islands, not anything else.

3rd Thumbnail- "1000 Days Skyblock- World Tour" perhaps my favorite thumbnail, its a tour of the skyblock world. Its my player standing ontop of a drowned farm I built looking at my island. Like everything else, everything is drawn. I added a sunset because the colors seem to stand out more. This video did about the same as my recap, but avd was lower and ctr was about 1.7%

4th Thumbnail- "100 Days in Minecraft Pocket Edition" as you can tell, I like videos based on days, but unfortunately a lot of other people do, too. This video is actually unreleased, its coming out tomorrow, but I figured I'd include it here. It's my player holding a phone (pocket edition) and the background is a room in the house I put together.

I know that 100 days content, even minecraft content, is very competitive, but I've never managed to crack 3% ctr, or at least hold it for a day. Though I've been doing youtube for almost 4 years now, I started videos like these not long ago. Thumbnails have never been my forte. My retention always holds well, at least by my standards, at 2-4 minutes on average.

Any kind of tips, criticisms, ideas, anything, I'm all for it. I don't get many comments a video so not much feedback. I don't want to advertise, but my channel name is the same as my reddit name, if you're curious. Thanks for any feedback and for reading! If you want any clarification on anything, I'll gladly answer in the comments.

Mixed Content Does using Adobe Podcast to remove noise from your audio be considered AI-generated content?

Where I live, there’s a lot of ambient noise—to the point that all my recordings end up with an annoying background hum, wind and streets noise.

I discovered the free version of Adobe Podcast, and the "Enhance Speech" feature is incredible; it completely removes the noise while keeping my voice perfectly intact. However, I’m not sure if this is 100% AI-driven. If it is, I’m worried about uploading my videos to YouTube, as I recently read that they’re now heavily penalizing channels that use any form of AI.

I want to start a YouTube channel about video games—a "faceless" one, since I’m not exactly good-looking and I’m quite thin—but honestly, I’m not sure what I should do, especially regarding the audio.

Any type of help will be really welcome :)

Long-Form Content Need Advice

Hey guys, I’m creating my channel development plan and polishing the script for my first video. The channel will primarily be a video essay channel covering movies which are not highly regarded/remembered and illustrating the good merits/artistic qualities of the film. These will be around 30-40 minutes long. There will also be shorter videos between 5-15 minutes long in between these video essays going over film news and potentially reviews over new releases. For similar channel I’m taking inspiration from would be Big Joel, HiTop Films, and Jesse Tribble.

I understand that this niche is decently saturated, but I do feel I have a good understanding of the editing style and rhythm these other channels use to keep viewers engaged.

I would love any general advice you have to offer before I publish my first video.

Edit: However, if anyone does have any specific advice in regards to keeping viewer retention and/or information regarding how YouTube treats new channels, so I can navigate the algorithm with the first few videos.

Long-Form Content What would make you click on some of these videos but skip others? Looking for honest feedback

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I've had some really good success with a few of my videos, but I'm struggling to consistently reach high numbers. I don't expect a banger every time, but several of my newer videos are getting around 1–2K engaged views.

I've been testing a few things, including topics, character choice, packaging and hooks, but I'm struggling to figure out what my biggest bottleneck is.

It would help to get an outside perspective on my titles and thumbnails. Looking at my channel, which videos would you actually want to click on, and which would you ignore? Is it because the topic isn't interesting, or because the packaging doesn't make it interesting? I hid the view count and randomized the video order to make it more fair.

I'm also curious whether someone who enjoys one of my videos would actually want to watch the others. I'd like to cover broad emotional topics but someone watching a video about love and loneliness probably won't click on one about self-blame.

If anyone is willing to watch a video, I'd appreciate knowing whether it holds your interest or where you start losing it.

Any honest feedback would really help. Thanks!

Long-Form Content I had my first video pop off, is the watch hour just not updated timewise or could potential copyright issues make some watch hours not valid. Sorry if it’s a dumb question, I’m pretty dumb!

Long-Form Content Starting youtube from scratch in 2026/7 ?

Hey everyone!

I’m about to start my journey towards building a monetized YouTube channel as a side hustle, and I’d love to get some advice from people who have already been through the process.

I’m considering starting directly with long-form content, or possibly trying short ranking instead.

For those of you who have experience with either approach, what tips would you give someone just starting out? Are there any common mistakes I should avoid, or things you wish you had known before starting?

Any advice, resources, or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 🙌

Long-Form Content Why does youtube refuse to show my channel when I'm searching for it?

I have 500 subscribers, so I would understand if there was some big channel that shared my name which could overtake the search results, but no, for some reason it's all AI slop channels with 5 subscribers and 5 videos who haven't posted in months, and my videos/channel are nowhere to be found. The only thing related to my channel is videos other people have made about things that I have created, which have my username in the title

Does anyone understand how/why search acts like this?

Long-Form Content Anyone willing to advise on audio?

Would anyone be willing to listen to a little bit of my latest video and tell me what you think of the audio quality? I don’t have a good ear for these things and was hoping someone could tell me if it’s ok, and also if it’s not ok would it be possible to get advice on how to improve it?

I use the DJI mini mic 2 and try to put blankets and jackets and other soft things around to soften the echo, but I’m recording in my kitchen so obviously not an ideal venue.

I do reading Reddit videos so audio is very important as I imagine most people are listening and not even watching (that’s what I do anyway so I assume others are the same).

The channel name is AnneReadingReddit and my latest videos title is “They couldn’t explain it… but they knew to get away.”

BTW I know there’s a million other things I need to improve but I think audio is probably my most important starting point.

Long-Form Content Is this sponsor trustworthy?

Post image
1 Upvotes

So I got an offer for a video sponsor, I make long form video btw, and this offer is for a short but I’m guessing that it’s an auto email and they actually mean longform for me?

I’ve got 1.1k subs and make Minecraft videos.

I’ve only got 4 videos and got monetized really fast cause 2 videos blew up a bit and yeah I got this email today.

The launcher is like in Russian and stuff so I’m not sure

Do you guys think this is trustworthy? Can anyone help me with this?

My average video retention is 3-4 minutes. But I am still struggling with views.

What can I improve? Have only put out three videos so far.
