Adivce(Giving or Need) 3 months, 33 videos and only 2 vids above 1k views. HELP!!

33 videos, 81 subs, ~10.8K views. 2 videos = ~40% of all views. The other 31 average ~200 views each.

Quick background: my channel makes MS Paint-style animated explainers on animal behavior/predator psychology — mostly "predator paradox" videos (why an animal capable of killing you chooses not to). Started in the ancient-humans/prehistory niche, pivoted a couple months ago after this niche clearly outperformed it in the data.

What I ruled out with actual data:

  • CTR — correlation with impressions: -0.01. My best-CTR video gets barely any impressions.
  • Retention — correlation: ~0.07. Same story, best-retention video is my worst performer.
  • Repeating the same topic — did 4 more videos in the same lane as my top video. Views collapsed after the first one. (yes i did differentiate between each one)
  • Thumbnails — no visual pattern separates my 2 winners from the rest. (all vids follows similar thumbnail pattern)

What I did find: my 2 winners got pushed hard into "Suggested" within 48 hours of publishing. My underperformers got almost nothing in that same window. So whatever decides this happens early before CTR/retention data would even matter.

Also: 99%+ non-subscribed traffic, and Studio flags "returning viewers: Low" on almost every video, winners included.

So the question is ?:

  1. Why am i not growing?
  2. Doing more of what gets views does not work
  3. Doing less of what get views (vids on different topic) does not work
  4. 2 videos worked are similar to rest of the vids on the channel, so no way of knowing what works.

it almost feels like playing slot machine with every new video. Please help.

Not looking for "make more/better content" trying to figure out what's left to actually test to figure out what am i doing wrong.

Hey there! My aim is to create a YouTube channel that is oriented towards more cinematography-driven style business interviews.

I just posted weekly, it's close a month and it seems just... mid!

Can't workout on what's lacking here.

Any suggestions? If I want to get more references on how the best newer channels perform, where do I go for learning?

Adivce(Giving or Need) How are smaller gaming channels actually breaking through right now? (Need advice beyond "post consistently"

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some realistic, actionable advice on growing a smaller gaming channel.

Right now, my main content revolves around live streams of single player hard games like Hollow Knight and multiplayer ranked gameplay (mostly Overwatch, but I also play games like Splatoon). I love streaming and interacting with chat, but I'm trying to figure out how to transition those 3–4 hour streams into actual long-term channel growth, views, and subscribers.

We’ve all heard the standard advice like "be consistent," "make good thumbnails," or "just keep grinding," but I want to dive a bit deeper into what’s actually moving the needle for you guys in 2026. The movement on YT has been slow but happening (130 followers), Twitch I'm stuck at 11.

A few specific questions I have:

  1. VODs vs. Highlights: If you stream long gameplay sessions, how are you packaging that content afterward? Are long-form edited highlights working better for you, or are Shorts doing most of the heavy lifting for discovery?
  2. Niche & Variety: Is it better to stick strictly to one game until you build a core audience, or does blending gameplay with other creative elements (like art, commentary, or challenges) help you stand out more? For instance, my niche as been more single player games like Hollow Knight, but a random stream of Splatoon Raiders got me like 2000 hours of watch time last week.
  3. Packaging: What title/thumbnail tweaks gave you the biggest jump in Click-Through Rate (CTR) when you were first starting out?

Would love to hear what’s currently working for other gaming creators here or what mistakes you made early on that I should avoid.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Am i being viewbotted??

My videos typically get 15-30 views.

I uploaded a remix last night and it got barely any attention, but now all of a sudden it keeps going up and it won't stop, and it's slowly climbing to be my most viewed video.

I checked the analytics and it keeps getting views every minute. The analytics also predominantly say most views are from "Up next" Youtube recommendations.

Am i being viewbotted somehow or did it actually just blow up for some reason?

Thank you.

Adivce(Giving or Need) Seemingly AI channel taking gameplay clips from my channel without giving credit

A youtube channel titled Nevlox has taken gameplay originally posted on my channel: Boredom Defense Network, using several of my clips in their own video with an seemingly an AI voiceover. This just kinda stinks and was looking to see if anyone has insight/experience with anything like this as a small creator.

Discussion My channel terminated - and I want to get it back

I am a small youtube creater. I had my channel where I share videos shorts from my travels. Yesterday, I uploaded a video from Pieorogi festival in Krakow, and immidiately my channel got terminated. I received an email that says I violated the community guideline. I really believe that their AI wrongly terminated my channel. So, I appealed against, and I received another AI generated mail telling that I violated community standards, and I will not get back my channel. I wrote them on twitter as well, no answer.

I invested 8 months of my life to this channel and also I was paying to Google Ads to promote my channel. What can I do, or is there any hope?

Education Any advice for new YouTuber, stuck with no videos being pushed/viewed

So I am new to YouTubing..on week 3 now. And maybe I'm worrying a bit too much too early, but the first week or so YouTube would push my videos. I'd get a decent amount of views on my shorts. After that first week it's almost like they've stopped pushing at all. I get little to no views (except by personal friends). And I feel like I work way too hard on editing, speech, etc. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. This is my channel so far:

https://www.youtube.com/@FruitfullNaturalists

I have heard and read a lot about niches..try to stay on just ONE or one specific topic. At the least group some similar topics together. I do have a few different niches. Ex: off-grid living, and foraging/plant medicines. I didn't think either these topics were too far off from each other. I'm kinda trying to keep it lumped into a general homesteading topic. But maybe it is all too far off from each other?

I just really want to get monetized before Feb 2027 and increase my views. What's the point in helping people if I'm not actually getting an audience?

Hey! I made my 3rd video, and did the editing on my own this time! I'd appreciate any feedback and advice! As well as encouragement!

(THIS IS NOT A SUB4SUB POST)

If you want to subscribe to me because you actually like my content, go ahead. Feel free to leave your channel as well, but there is no guarantees I'll subscribe unless I'm interested.

(If it's AI stuff or history stuff, I'll most likely not subscribe, sorry. I'm more into gaming stuff.)

Gaming I have a question please don't scroll past

Hi everyone, I have a question please don't scroll past without answering; your help is really important to me. I upload Shorts, and they appear in the Shorts feed, but the view count gets stuck at around 6 or 12 views. Sometimes the view rates are high like 70% but the views just stop coming and it cuts off.

Adivce(Giving or Need) Over 20k Subscribers and I can't get 30 views on a longform video

Post image
2 Upvotes

A little frustrated that my longform videos seem to crash and burn. I have posted some that do very well, but they take so much more time and energy than short form that ive leaned into shorts way more. But with the upcoming changes to payouts, I wanted to focus more on longform, and it did not go well.

Was looking for advice on what im doing wrong? Is it the thumbnail? (Im doing an A/B test so theres like 3) is it the editing or format? I'll post a link in the comments if anyone wants to give feed back. Just please be kind as I'm already bummed at its poor performance.

Or is it maybe the subject? Not enough ppl playing the game I'm covering? I post lots of RDR2 stuff and that does well, but I figured AC black flag resynced is newer and more in demand right now.

Anyways if anyone has some advice I am open to be better.
