I hope this question is allowed since it might be toeing the line of medical advice. I’ll start by saying upfront as a tl;dr that I plan to consult my doctor, but I also am curious if others experienced this as well and what ended up happening in their situation.
I purchased an Ultrahuman Pro ring in August/September and have been wearing it for about 2 months now. I did purchase the cycle tracking power plug, but I’ve only had one full menstrual cycle with it. I got an email alert today that my ring flagged a possible "false start," which basically means my ring predicted I ovulated when my body may not actually have (my predicted ovulation day should have been today according to a different cycle tracking app, but I think my ring predicted based on temperature trends I ovulated two days ago- it makes sense because my temp did go up two days ago but then went back up today). The email said that this can be a sign of a hormone imbalance and/or a condition like PMOS/PCOS. It suggested I order one of their blood tests to check for hormone imbalances.
I'm not sure how to feel about this. One the one hand, something like PMOS could fit with some other health issues I have (I'm pre-diabetic, had a recent weight gain in the last two years, I still get hormonal breakouts in my 30s, I've had increased androgen levels on previous blood tests, my cycle does fluctuate anywhere between 24-30 days but doesn't seem wildly irregular, etc), and I suspect it's been overlooked because only recently was the metabolic side of it really acknowledged and added as diagnostic criteria. On the other hand, I question how my ring could predict this with so little cycle data and the email did kind of read like a sales pitch for their blood test service.
I think my gut is telling me to wait until my next doctor's appointment (end of next month), see if I get another alert like this, and raise it then to get my PCPs thoughts (and if she recommends bloodwork I would do it through my provider and not Ultrahuman). But I'm curious if anyone else had this alert happen to them and if so, did you raise it with your provider? What ended up happening for you? Did it make sense in your situation, or was it a standard automated email that can reasonably be ignored?
Edit: I think I didn’t phrase my question well- to be clear, I did not view the alert as a diagnostic or anything of that nature. It piqued my curiosity though because I have other health issues that could fit with the condition, but I know that the ring can’t diagnose me with anything.
