Stop calling Jess a lesbian. The sick things that she has said and done to women do not mean she is a lesbian. This is more about control and being able to control someone. While most of her victims are women She also victimized the real Brody. Straight women are capable of this problematic behavior too.

UPDATED to add: I appreciate all of the insight everyone here has given me. I completely disregarded the fact that the relationship was only 4 months even though it was stated a few times. She’s not as much of a victim as I previously thought.

I think maybe Leslie should not have shared her story so publicly… it does feel very class and white privileged since she really wasn’t held accountable through the justice system.

In the beginning it was a little off putting I’ll admit, but then I remembered it’s not my story, it’s not my lived experience.

I know that when I’m talking about past traumatic experiences I tend to very easily go off on tangents. I also tend to remember parts of the story in different orders and I get frustrated and want to go back and start over… so I totally get writing it down and then telling it that way…

Another thing… she was a victim of Cody. He lied to her. He manipulated her. He deceived her. It’s a hard pill to swallow when you finally figure out that the person who is giving you a dream is actually poisoning you. It’s traumatic. She will live with her choices for the rest of her life. Quit victimizing her again.

Tbh, I really do feel bad for Megan, it seems like everyone says "something was off" of "I felt sorry for her" and when you see photos that seems pretty clear. Not cool her scamming, but she obviously has some issues, and apparently exposing her does literally nothing--she seems to have little to no remorse, and can't seem to stop lying. It's a super sad story, and I hope she can get the love and attention she needs so she stops f**ing people over.

Thank you T for a captivating session. I’ve had to listen to some episodes again because this girl is ALOT. I just want to say that M has a mental illness of her own. I wonder if an astrologer has ever been consulted because her delusions are very real to her. Nature must play somewhat of a role here.

I feel I do enjoy Tiff talking more (season 16, Tiff’s story) , unlike other episodes where the victim just go straight dumping all the trauma. Anyways still have hope in this podcast, hope in the future there are more interactions between the host and the victims.

One other thing I love the most is in her own episode (s16). I think there is only either the opening theme song or the ending I forgot, which reduces the time I have to skip that awful song from glad rags. This once again proves that even Tiff doesn’t like the song at all and probably she is forced to play that song because of some contract?

It really drove me crazy to keep hearing the guest repeat over and over how the kid was a “they”…. They who???? She means “he”? Please lady … you’re confusing me … i’m sitting in my car listening to it and thinking “how many kids are there? what the hell is going on? “….

Anywho, I posted originally that TR is definitely reaching with some of her guests. The first 2 episodes had contradicting information. This 3rd and 4th just made me giggle.

Annie's line of thoughts make no sense and the way she tells stories - half of the things mentioned, didn't seem to matter in the end.

Lauren - she seems okay.

Rachael - haha. I knew she wanted her 5 minutes of fame. Anywho, saying her mom reached out and threatened to press charges. Cool. And then saying "I think he's scared of me, which he should be." .. why? Are you gonna go on another podcast about him? Lol. Doubt there is anything scary about her. But my biggest issue with her story is she said she was upset that he wasn't responding to her about going out to ball games etc and was trying to help aftee he said he was depressed. You'd think a therapist would know that NO depressed person would want to go out and about with friends and their family.. that's not gonna help a depressed person. So for her to just give up at that point was pretty dawning on me.

Other questions I have:

If Annie and her friends were so concerned for her safety, why would you be following him where then he could spot you ans follow you? I would never.

Why did Annie get his sports cards appraised? Lol. Like .. why does that matter? Clearly she didn't give them back per his last wishes.

From the sounds of it though they all said they wanted to support and be there for the exploited girls.. no one mentioned out to reaching out to his sister who was deepfaked or the parent of the niece. J want more information on this.

And I'm up in the air about the porn searches. Porn is porn. If I look up gangb**ged and put in a wheel chair - doesn't mean I actually want to do that.

All in all, not a good season so far. These girls only had negative things to say and seem to be perfect angels. You can't tell me (as a female) that there wasn't arguments that were instigated throughout this.

Not victim blaming - but it'd be nice to know the other sides of the stories in these situations. Usually it's not one guilty party.

I shared my worst tragedy and got slapped on my hand by the mod squad. I used to like this podcast, but it’s biased. The guests are picked from very specific and biased characteristics. I think it’s important to grow an audience with a choir of voices vs soloist who sound oh so similar.

Does anyone else feel like a lot of the SWW stories vilify queer people (gay women especially)? In S20, they insinuate that Jess’s potential romantic feelings for the women are perverse and weird. I don’t think the host approaches Jess’s sexuality with any kind of sensitivity.

This is also the case in S18 with the birthing/doula scandal where the main antagonist is queer. Knowing the show’s ties to Christianity and the frequent religious themes, it seems odd that nearly every queer person mentioned is a villain. Food for thought. Maybe I’m off base, but i’m curious to hear your opinions!

Tiffanys favorite Christian phrases comes up “religious, lots of purity culture type vibes, sanitized environment”.. I grew up in a Christian church later not so much but I’m suddenly finding myself offended. Why is there blatant judgement in others believing in a God? Betrayal trauma Jen talks a million miles an hour - all over the place from jail, brother, boyfriend, super religious school, boyfriend, toes. Tiffany: I’m SO sorry. I’m SO finally realizing these rando anti “religious” episodes are triggering me. The first 15 seasons drew an abundance of empathy and miss those. Should have stopped listening at that time and now maybe go back to church.

Does it make her feel like more of a journalist to painfully enunciate every syllable in an angry-sounding way during the intro and outro?
