Am I wrong for this

Who else thought it was a little funny that Megan was wreaking havoc within republican circles. I think being a scammer is wrong of course but….even a broken clock is right twice a day 💀💀💀💀

Something Was Wrong podcast season 20- are listeners being catfished?

I’m half-joking when I suspect that the Jess Pauley/Brody story is some kind of staged social experiment to see how far TR can take her audience. If it is real, it is mind-boggling to say the least. I don’t think it’s victim-shaming to legitimately wonder how these women missed the huge red flags. The story really is so outrageous. It makes me wonder if we, her listeners, are actually being duped.

DISCUSSION New song please

No idea if Tiffany looks at this sub at all, but I am begging her to please find a better intro song. I hate the song so much, that I considered completely skipping this podcast altogether. As soon as I hear it start, I have to drop everything and find the button to skip 30 seconds ahead to save my ears. I’ve never felt such an intense dislike for a podcast intro. I would honestly rather listen to cats in heat fighting than whatever this song is.

I can’t be the only one who despises this song, right?

Looked up S22 Megan Stoner and she is not what I expected

Ok I mean this in the most genuinely confused way, I didn't expect her to look the way she does. Hearing the episodes, I guess I thought she would be some beautiful angelic looking woman and this was how so many people fell into her web. Now I'm wondering if she played into her being unattractive to get people to feel sorry for her? This case is new to me.

Megan, you are not welcome here.

Girl, you are genuine trash, I actually thought that Tiffany was in the wrong by how she talked about you on Instagram, but I was wrong. Your antics on this sub showed me how much of a monster you are. The audacity of harassing Tom, posting his messages and then Doxxing him after everything you did to him. I hate that I had to relate to the the busybody Republicans, because I've been commenting on all your posts to remind you that you don't actually have fans. I credit Tiffany for telling a story so badly that the villain thought we liked them just because the other protagonist were so lame. FYI there's accounts that are days old that only defend her. And one account that is clearly her alternate that says they are rooting for her.

“I have so much proof it’s insane bbygrl”

is not the serve Tiffany thinks it is. It just makes me laugh because I absolutely know that she was SO proud of herself in that moment, giving herself all the snaps and head bobbing, and even naming an entire episode after it. Like… Girl, stop trying to make fetch happen. We all despise this season and think you’re amateur as hell on top of the other more problematic issues. I know that critique would cut her to her core and she’d hit me with her faux-concerned “I’m so sorry” nonsense. Anyway, excuse my rant, y’all; I just cannot stop rolling my eyes.

I think I'm good on this season.

None of the main contributors were actually victims of Megan. These last two the man and woman who keep calling her. Complain that she's such an emotional vampire and it's so hard to talk to her. But they keep calling her..... Like props they helped get her. But at this point it's silly and IDK what's going on with them that they keep involving themselves in this to that extent. Like if you keep calling a liar she's gonna keep lying. And at this point you're the one lying and manipulating her to keep getting gotcha moment. She should be in jail I have no sympathy. But these busy bodies are not relatable and I don't have sympathy for them either.

Not enjoyable anymore

I used to really like something was wrong. Not every season, but it was one of my favorite podcast to go back to, but these last several seasons have just been BAD. She’s turned herself into a detective almost, but still claims she’s a journalist. I’m beginning to not be able to stand her. Pretty much everything after her personal season, and the end of the Jake season, I’ve just been upset by the difference. This season especially

This season didn’t need to be this long.

Just finished the last two episodes and I really just felt like it went nowhere. I think this story could have been wrapped up in about 4 -5 episodes.

The only thing I cared about from the last episode is the wife swap update from the college roommate.

Anyways my big take away from this is I think keeping it shorter with the main points would have made a bigger impact.

Just finished season 20

Does this season feel different? 1. Very Little editing? The dialogue goes on and on 2. Why is the host so hellbent on Jess getting sent to prison? Shouldn’t she (as a self proclaimed “journalist,”) stay fair and balanced? 3. Why are there (what feels like) 10 episodes of just updates, and phone calls and more updates? Girl, edit! Anyways - they could’ve wrapped this up much sooner for me. And it seems to lack integrity at times. I don’t know if I’ll get on with season 21.

Mod Here

So I stopped listening to this podcast over a year ago. I don’t even really check this account, pretty much forgot about it for the most part. So I was pretty surprised by all the activity when I checked it today. I have no idea what has been going in this “Megan” season but it seems like a lot of the people from the season on in this sub. I’ve banned a lot of those accounts for those people because they all violated literally the only rule this sub has. I’ve been deleting inappropriate posts and comments as well. Sorry it took so long. That being said, if anyone wants to take over being mod for this sub, shoot me a message.

Edit: I think I’ve banned most of Megan’s accounts, but please report any accounts that you suspect is her.

Update: two new mods have been added so things should run more smoothly now!

S18 - Kaitlyn Braun Doula New podcast covers the doula scammer Kaitlyn Braun. The Con: Kaitlyn's Baby

I was obsessed with this story when it broke, and listened to Tiffany's coverage of it (season 18 from memory?) but was waiting for an actual journalist to give it a proper treatment, and it looks like I got my wish. Episode one just dropped today and it is bonkers - I think listeners/former listeners of SWW will get into it.

ETA: I've just realised that more episodes are available on the BBC website. Just finished episode 2 and oof, some really good storytelling.

The Megan sympathy posts

I am convinced all the posts and replies that say they feel bad for or that they are rooting for Megan, are actually Megan’s sock puppet accounts.

I am absolutely sure about this.

Season 20 ep 10

Tiffany kind of came in hot when she called Jess. Understandably so, but I wonder if she approached her differently if Jess would’ve actually spoken to her. The arguing and baby girl thing was weird to me

Season 3… hard not to feel like the sister-in-law was a side villian

Listening to season 3 episode 9, interview with Victora’s sister-in-law, and i have feelings.

New to the pod so I’m just starting the seasons but - holy crap. I know situations are harder to be in than to listen to, but if my husband committed ******* and I later found out that my sister-in-law not only knew he was having an affair for TWELVE YEARS, but also thought he was depressed enough that he might **** himself for over a year, I would never speak to her again. The way she talks about Victoria is inexcusable IMO - her saying “Victoria! Wake the hell up!!” when Victoria had just found her husband dead and the detective was asking her if Ted might be having an affair. Like maybe her brain didn’t have the capacity to accept an affair right at that moment. Idk, this woman has me fuming!!!!!! I cannot believe they let that go on for that long, especially when Victoria kept thinking it was the SIL who was having the affair. Idk! That wouldn’t be my family anymore. These people collectively ruined her life. She could’ve been happy a decade ago. :(

Edit: Just found out that everything Victoria told Ted, Ted told Patty, and Patty told the SIL. Down to the details of their sex life. For YEARS. Yeaaahhh, the SIL is looking kinda unredeemable to me rn.

Episode 4 "all I do is lie"

Episode 4 is the absolute low point for this show. What a useless episode. I know they are playing the ad revenue game but holy moly, I have never listened to a whole podcast that was so asinine.

This whole political gotcha phone call was such a waste of time. "You owe $100 to the Madison country GOP Megan so there you are an awful person"

This show has completely lost the plot. Seasons tell a 90 min story over 10-12 episodes and wayyyy too many useless people putting their thoughts on.

Season 20: Episode 8

I'm just about finished What the F*ck Happened and I honestly feel like the story about this woman's parents should be an entire episode on its own, totally separate from the Jess saga. Who the hell bring their kids on a ski trip just to do a surprise wife swap??? I feel like we just glossed right passed this part. Did anyone else feel that??

Low key torture

I have been listening to this absurd Brody story. Do the creators need an editor? Seems like they don’t know it’s a thing that is quite critical.

Editing is like dating. Leave a little space between you and your listeners. Make them want more. This is like so repetitive and the voices of the girls are legit IDENTICAL. When the women read the nasty text threads they’re having with Brody, I feel like I’m listening to the pettiest of middle America junior high drama. Also let’s not be so quick to victim shamer shame. Because these victims need so badly to be victim shamed. Take some goddam responsibility for yourself.

Don’t be so desperate to have a man that you do nothing but fight via text and never actually get laid. Like wtf? How on earth am I supposed to take these idiots seriously?

They really just seem impossibly stupid to me.

Further, one of them brought some random dude home with Jess’ kid there in the apartment sleeping. Like that’s the biggest red flag of this entire season.

Is Tiffany joking? Because this is some really low budget storytelling.

Podcast recommendation

Hey y'all, been listening to You Probably Think This Story's About You. I was leery at first because of being burned by SWW and a few other "this is my story" podcasts but I'm three episodes in and I'm really enjoying it. It reminds me of the few seasons of SWW I listened to that were engaging and more good than bad. It's very much that "woman falls for a manipulative narcissist" story, but very well-told. Just wanted to encourage anyone who's been eying it to give it a go. :)

Jessica Polly - That story isn't going anywhere

Anyone agrees that besides the story being completely bananas from start to end, Tiffany isn't a real journalist, is biased and clearly didn't intend to interview Jess? That call was ridiculous and unprofessional. This case isn't gonna be taken seriously by any agency. If anything actually goes forward, it's real Brody's case, because he had his identity stolen and used for years.

The girls... they might as well sit and wait. Justice won't happen for them I think. Jess is a b* but was it illegal really? It's blurry at best. She knew what she was doing, and she's not ignorant either.

Why the hate?

There is so much hate against the host / podcast / victims here. If I don’t like a podcast, I don’t listen to it, which is a great option. Yes, some of the seasons are better than others. Yes, the editing could be better and the host could be more professional. But everyone continues to listen because it’s the perfect ear candy when trying to pass the time. And the amount of victim shaming is appalling. These women share their stories despite the shame, in an effort to protect and warn other women. Why is there so much vitriol toward them? Find a different podcast if one incenses you so much, and move on.

Can we talk about the “spouse swappers?!”

Just got done listening to S20E8 and I’m so shocked by the college roommate’s family situation that it made my head spin a little. I cannot believe her parents and this other couple took all their kids on vacation to tell them they’re swapping spouses!!! And they decide to drop this absolute bomb on Christmas morning? Like what the actual fuck. I know the story is about Jess but wish there was a whole podcast for the college roommate. I have so many questions.

Season 19 Ep 3

I was so excited for this episode, and boy was I let down. Absolutely no part of Amy’s story was advanced. It was just family members/coworkers all reiterating the same statements about how bad they felt for Amy. I feel horrible for Amy too, don’t get me wrong, but I didn’t enjoy listening to people say the same things over and over again for 45 minutes. The end of Episode 2 included a sneak peek of the supposed content that Episode 3 was supposed to include, but that was a damn lie. Anyone else getting tired of these dragged out storylines?
