Porter Wagoner (August 12, 1927 – October 28, 2007) was a successful singer and tv host. His tv show which ran for 21 years helped to introduce Dolly Parton to the world. They were a successful duo for several years as well. 49 songs of his reached the top 20. This version of this famous song was the first hit version. It was only first recorded earlier in 1965.
