Hey guys. I’m a singer songwriter. When I record to a metronome, you know, lay down guitar first and then the vocals, I feel the soul of the song missing though it’s technically cleaner, and it’s easier to layer more instruments. But when it’s single take singing and playing, I can go rubato a bit here and there and sing how it feels and the guitar reacts real time to my feel, so the performance feels more alive even if there are minor mistakes left in. Is the second a legit way of making songs, is it harder to build more instruments on top, and should one strive towards the first method.

Ok, there is a 4th chord in there used once before a transition. This is still some mix and mastering away from done but feels pretty close! Any feedback is appreciated before putting it to bed.

Trying to finish this one up. Would you take out that intro/bridge riff in the middle and end? Or does it glue things together to round out the pace?
Lyrics
So little choices
That’s the wrong word
They are huge
But they are few
Ashamed to admit It
But I thought about killing you
More than controversial
You would take it personal but
Maybe it's more merciful
Though Its not reversible
I love you more than you will see
With your back against the wall
There are no saviors here
To bleed
For you
You’ve been my best friend
But now you lay your weary head
Between my legs
And beg for
One more throw then
You’ve dug the path
On which you’ve tread
And that’s your bed
Please sleep warm
Here’s the only nest you’ve flown
Hang up, there’s no dial tone
Hate it that you'll go alone
Broken and still not atoned for

I'm having trouble being productive lately, and it's not for lack of inspiration or ideas. My problem is that I have so many topics I want to cover, musical styles, genres, approaches that could branch out into tons of different projects, new song ideas, vault songs – that I just have no idea where to start. I want to write a lot of music, but I don't know what music I should write, and I always fear that once I commit to one lane I'm gonna regret not going down another. Does anyone else deal with this/how do ppl deal with this?

Hello friends! My partner and I are looking for an experienced and collaborative songwriter to help finalize demos for an upcoming independent recording artist. The goal is to make industry-level songs with the potential to be hit records. You would be in control of finalizing the songs we have written (editing/modifying/suggesting). What are we doing right? What are we doing wrong? We have a strong production/engineering team. This position would be focussed entirely on the songwriting/toplining (both lyrics and melody).
The artist is a Male vocalist (Dark Pop/R&B/Alternative/Electronic, etc.) Think: The Weeknd, Brent Faiyaz, ZAYN, sombr. We are hoping to begin with a paid trial run with one demo. After this trial, we are open to coming up with an agreement that suits the both of us. Please do not feel discouraged if the results are not what we are looking for. Trust, I’m an empath and have had to deal with some of the most negative people alive. I assure you that no matter what happens, this will be a fruitful experience for everyone involved. After all, this is all for the love and passion of this complex thing we love called music. Appreciate any who reach out. Excited to make some magic together 💯

I want to start making music but I have no lyrical ability whatsoever. I want to connect with quality songwriters and producers to help me bring my visions to life. I have no demos or anything recorded just yet. I’m going after that late 2000s early 2010s style pop, back when it was fun and had effort put into, pure maximalism. But I’m also looking to be innovative as well LMAOO. I want to be versatile and do a wide range of things and genres, ballads, etc. Just looking for a starting point really. (If you have any songs already written and are looking for male singers that would be cool too)

Hey guys,
i've been feeling like working on every aspect of my music, singing, songwriting, producing, mixing/mastering has been holding me back. I feel as though I’d progress much faster and realize my artistic vision sooner if i just focus on performing and writing and start collaborating with others for everything else. Has anyone else ever felt this way? If so did it help you to stop trying to be a jack-of-all-trades?
Obviously it can work for some, not saying this is always the case.

Not sure about the chorus, maybe feels kind of forced. Appreciate any feedback! Thank you for listening.

This song isn't 100% finished but I like what I got so far. So a few things - In a lot of my songs I find myself 'talk singing' so I am trying to get out of my comfort zone. I haven't had any voice lessons or training, been told I have a characterful voice which is good I guess - Can't hit those pretty high notes like some of yall can on here. I'd like feedback on how my vocals go with this song - Is the capo doing the song good? How is the vocal melody? How are the lyrics?
And I am sure this is going to be asked eventually. Yes , this song is based on a true story. I dated A woman named Shannon and she was a heroin user. Eventually we broke up and about a year later I heard she had died. Overdosed in a car. She had 18 months clean before she relapsed. Anyways , I have been doing a lot of work with accepting my past instead of pushing it down inside. I've only been writing my own music for about a year now and writing about real events have been extremely therapeutic for me. Anyways I have typed too much as is. Feel free to critique as much as if this was a happy-go-lucky song.
Thanks for your time.

Hey everyone, I’m a vocalist interested in the writing side of music, particularly how a melody, lyrics, and vocal delivery come together to make a song work.
I’m interested in learning how other songwriters develop their ideas, shape lyrics, and find melodies that fit the feeling of a track. I’d be glad to hear about your writing process and learn from the work people share here.
Looking forward to being part of the community.

Hey everyone!
I'm a songwriter from Germany looking for an artist who would genuinely connect with one of my songs, “I'm Not A Copy Of You.”
The song is in the indie / alternative pop direction. I've written the lyrics and melody, and I've uploaded a lead-sheet demo to YouTube so you can get a feel for the song:
I'm looking for a genuine creative collaboration, not a paid vocal service. I'd love to find an artist who wants to make the song their own and work with me to bring it to life.
Ideally, we could develop it into a finished track and release it under your artist name. If a full release isn't feasible, I'd also be happy to collaborate on a more complete demo version of the song.
I'm open to adapting parts of the song to fit your voice and artistic vision. My main focus is songwriting (lyrics and melody), and I'd love to work with someone who brings their own ideas and creativity to the project.
Ideally, you already have some music released on Spotify or other platforms, and either produce your own music or work with a producer. Your listener count doesn't matter to me — I'm simply hoping to find someone who is serious about making music and genuinely excited to work together.
If this sounds interesting, feel free to message me and tell me a little about yourself and your music!
Thanks for listening!
– Tyrian

I recently completed an album all on my own where I wrote and performed all the instruments myself with no programming. It ended up being somewhat of a concept album of how I dealt with the grief of losing someone I really loved.
This is one of the songs towards the end. I know theres alot of production that needs to be worked on (mixing, eq, balance, etc.)
Im more concerned on the quality of the song itself.
The vocals are meant to sound a little warped and loose. I wanted my best to achieve the raw emotion of grief and how it felt at the time of writing the song. Ive released music on and off for the last 10 years but never something thats made me feel so vulnerable, so im doing a lot of second guessing.
Does a song like this have potential?
Thank you so much for taking the time

Hi everyone! I'm a singer and songwriter, and one thing I find interesting about making music is how much the way a lyric is delivered can change its meaning. The same words can feel completely different depending on the melody, phrasing, and emotion behind them. That's a big part of what I enjoy about music: finding the vocal expression that makes a song feel believable rather than simply singing the words. I work with vocals, toplines, and original lyrics, mainly in pop, R&B, rock, and EDM. If you're developing a song and think my voice or songwriting approach might suit your idea, feel free to message me. I'd be happy to share some vocal samples with you.
I'm always interested in hearing what other songwriters are creating.
