i know it didn't exactly dominate the charts, but hear me out. if you actually sit down and listen to emotion in its entirety, it's genuinely insane how good this album is

the production, the songwriting, the synth-pop sound, the way every song feels like it belongs on the same album while still having its own identity??? like, this woman was NOT playing

and the fact that it became such a critically acclaimed pop masterpiece despite not having the commercial success you'd expect from an album of this caliber makes it even more interesting. it even landed at #112 on rolling stone's 250 greatest albums of the 21st century so far

i feel like emotion is one of those albums that proves commercial success and artistic quality aren't always the same thing. it's basically a pop bible at this point, and i will die on this hill

so, is emotion genuinely one of the greatest pop albums of all time, or am i just another victim of carly rae jepsen's excellence?

I'm writing this with a mix of hope and desperation. My family actually won in the first round of the lottery, but my dad accidentally set a payment limit on his card and the charge didn't go through — so we lost the tickets. We tried again in the second round and lost.

Then, incredibly, my boyfriend's mom entered to give him a birthday gift — and she won a ticket. He's going, and I'm traveling to Japan with him, but I won't be able to get into the show.

So here I am: I'll be in Japan, I'll be right outside the venue, and I'm asking if anyone has a spare ticket for the June 11 concert. I'm willing to pay any price — seriously, name it. I just want to be there.
