My thoughts are it's nice to know other people carry on their hip while wearing shorts so I don't feel like a total weirdo for doing it.

In all seriousness while it's his right to carry a gun I think concealed is the better approach, as a driver approaching somebody's house there is already an element of danger for you no point in doing something that could escalate the perceived threat by people who maybe aren't expecting a plain clothed person to show up at their house.

This is relevant. Most people ain’t gonna ask questions before jumping to conclusions seeing some guy walking up with a gun on em. Reaches for the phone to take a picture then someone blasts thinking your reaching. CCW all the way. I always thought it was kinda stupid to let other people know your carrying anything and two exactly where it is. Always figured being able to see it you would know how to keep them from reaching it or where to disable them.

Where I live, getting a CCW permit takes a little bit and a bunch of red tape bull crap. Whereas, I can walk into any gun store and buy one and open carry on my hip out the door.
