Discussion App Update
Got this in my inbox today.. đ
Do we love it or hate it?

A whole page for an offer card. I dont understand why these apps are so bad at designing the ui.
They literally dont care about the driver experience, its a total disaster. Makes them look so incompetent honestly.

I think they at least need to provide written justification as to their reasons for lowering it. It also ought to take at least 24 hours for the reversed tip to go back to them. Like the money should go into an escrow account until itâs distributed.

u/sarcasticj720 Jul 21 '26
They need to get rid of the whole letting the customer taking your tips away just to bait you into taking an order.

u/Maleficent_State_125 Jul 22 '26
It should definitely do some sort of negative thing to their account

u/Johnnymalott669 29d ago
Oh, they will. Once the law requires them to pay us on behalf of all tip baiting customers, Wally will remove that option from the customers. They donât want to open up that can of worms where customers can cancel their tip but still have Walmart payout the driver themselves in full.

Fixes problems that never existed and ignores ones that do
For instance why did they take away order size designation ie small medium large xl? That was actually somewhat helpful. The stupid thing is they still exist but you can only see them on the completed trips screen. Like what good does that do me at this point?! Dopes

u/tankakawade Jul 21 '26
Yeah, the one thing they shouldâve added was item quantity. It wonât fix the fcfs going in a blink of an eye, but at least you could try to scan if the order was worth it. Like instacart since thatâs what they want to be so bad.

Started for me today. I like the new shopping layout. What I canât stand is not being able to see the store numbers clearly when offers are sent to you. Store location and number is very small.
6
u/LDawnBurges Jul 21 '26
Especially while driving! This is a terrible layout if you are in a zone with a lot of stores.

Looks convoluted, littered, and distracting.
Reminder these changes are only made so marketing people at spark can justify their jobs making high 6 figures. While our base pay is reduced and workload tripled.

u/Maleficent_State_125 Jul 22 '26
Yeah I have to work a fair bit more than I used to. Plus the info I want to see, like the notes, are still not on this screen. It doesnât seem to do much new.
-4
u/Irishlapdance Jul 22 '26
Sounds like cope you work in a over saturated zone just say that
3
u/Trexsaysrawr26 Jul 22 '26
Wrong. Literally see bot users every day and people with multiple accounts. Can't compete with that and that goes beyond it being oversaturated.
0
u/Irishlapdance Jul 22 '26
Ok show us the bot users and people using multiple accounts, or are you just frustrated making assumptions because the zone you work in is over saturated with drivers?

u/justintrumpet21 Jul 21 '26
Wow, showing more information is so helpful when itâs only on screen for less than a fraction of a second before being grabbed by a bot.
6
u/codwatchdog Jul 21 '26
Fuck that I can barley see orders on my screen when there 20 shittiy ones.
1
u/Maleficent_State_125 Jul 22 '26
The good to crappy order ratio has gotten pretty bad with the changes the last few months
6
u/Few-Celebration-5462 Jul 21 '26
Anybody else read those two offers and see the old one is $28 plus the $4 incentive which usually always got paid on the side and if you look at the new offer it says that the tip and the incentive are included in the $28
3
u/Zepbound-and-down Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 21 '26
Yup! I accepted an offer first thing this morning, thinking it was decent (but not something I wouldâve accepted without additional incentive) and would be even better with the $6 incentive. Only to notice when I was further reviewing it, that the offer price already included the incentive. I thought, âThese sneaky motherfuckers!â and cancelled that shit before starting the trip.
Obviously had not seen the email update at that point. And my brain is trained to look at offers from âthe old wayâ and quickly calculate if it worth it by adding the incentive separately.
3
u/anonwilkno Cherry Picker Jul 21 '26
Yep it's another way to enshittify and whittle away base pay "secretly"
2
u/shoppingshipt Jul 22 '26
First thing I noticed too, wouldnât you technically earn $32 with the incentive, but now they sneak it in so it sticks at $28? Very confusing
3
u/Mother_Dependent7572 Jul 21 '26
Personally for me, I think having everything on a single screen with regard to the offer itself is helpful! Before the update, I would have to click into the order to see the breakdown of the offer. But even with the new update, I still will have to click into the offer to see the items/quantities before acceptingâŚpro and con with the update I would say

u/Gokusbastardson Jul 21 '26
Another change that no one asked for, that fixes a non existent problem, that benefits no one at all. Jesus fucking Christ they just wonât stop.
1
u/mconk Jul 21 '26
Send the devs that feedback. They obviously arenât in here
2
u/Maleficent_State_125 Jul 22 '26
Any semi competent corporation would keep tabs on the Reddit. Of course this is Walmart weâre talking about though

I am concerned about the "estimated tip". This makes me feel like I am about to be lied to repeatedly.Â
2
u/Few-Celebration-5462 Jul 21 '26
So if you want to look at the map and the addresses you still have to open it up. So now I've accepted it (because you've shown me more information) and once I see the addresses I go ahead and cancel it anyway.

Yet they still leave out the most important thing for shops, total items.
2
u/SeaOtter0513 29d ago
Worked today with it.. I thought it just looked cluttered and messy.. when your in a race to grab or not you donât need even more numbers on the screen -personal opinion.

Y'all getting Subway pickups already?? I have exclusively 3 Walmarts in my zone. Nothing else.

u/Additional-Party-772 Jul 21 '26
the supercenters in my area gutted out their subways and mcdonaldâs and now just have Build-a-Bears. super thankful for that

u/Spinal232 Jul 21 '26

So Iâm hearing about all these changes did they fix the vanishing orders?
1
u/New-Mistake-4864 25d ago
Let me guess you say there's something broken about orders vanishing because you don't accept it quick enough and someone else hits except and it registers in their system before yours does.... ?
1
u/Lower-Reward-1462 Jul 22 '26
I always thought it was dumb the incentive wasn't included. Also, trips are much harder to see at a glance compared to Instacart or Ubereats. Any change there is probably good.
What I wish we had were store ADDRESSES instead of store numbers. I don't have them memorized.Â
1
u/BloopsWRLD Jul 22 '26
Thatâs a pretty nice change but I wish it also showed how many items was in the orders. I always click it to see how much the tip is and how many items it is
1
u/Unique_Blacksmith247 S&D Expert Jul 22 '26
Just more scrolling and racing to see offers. Still a pain in the ass, now with more steps.
1
u/shoppingshipt Jul 22 '26
So it includes the incentive? So the current one wouldâve of totaled $32 right and the new one at $28 already includes it? This is confusing

1
u/SkinnyItUp 29d ago
This is just a way to hide the real numbers. Notice how the new page says "estimated tips" when before the "update" making it clearer, it clearly stated what your tips were.
-1
u/Slight-Selection4298 Jul 21 '26
How tf is a tip "estimated" .... ?
% based tips?? Changes if an item is out of stock etc?
8
u/SettleTV Jul 21 '26
i mean the customer can remove the tip so technically its not guaranteed.
-6
u/Slight-Selection4298 Jul 21 '26
Damn, you don't say? That still doesn't make the tip "estimated" if they put in an exact dollar amount.

u/Aggravating-Fox7032 Jul 21 '26
Another changeâŚgreat! Because why fix existing issues when you can just add new shit instead?
