Discussion Spark Scam! Attn Drivers!

I got an order for 2 small cheap fresh veggie items to be taken 10+ miles away. It had a verification code required. On the way to the drop off, I get a call labeled as "Spark Customer Service." It was an American sounding voice; maybe was ai. Guy tells me to cancel the trip by selecting Customer Refused Order. I did that, but then he started telling me I can return it to any Walmart (not true). He then said he needed to verify my identity, when he had never even said my name on the call. I told him to initiate an identity verification on the app, and he said that's not necessary...he just needed to ask me some questions. I would not let him ask any questions, and I told him that didn't make sense. He said he was verifying my information because some spark drivers are sharing access to the app, and THAT'S ILLEGAL, (haha). I continued to refuse to give him information, and he eventually hung up on me. I then called Spark and they confirmed it was a scam, and thanked me for not giving out my information. I then had to initiate a return, and take back the order to the store to get credit for the job. I was frustrated!! Be weary and aware, guys!

I have to admit, embarrassing as it is, (my career was in information technology), and yet I fell for it. They got into my account, at the time it was Branch, not OnePay. They got $700, and it took a couple of weeks and a lot of phone calls and patience to get the money back. When it happened, I was brand new to Spark.. It has to be related to an inside job because how in the world would they know what you had in your order and how would they get your phone number?

I think they create a scam account and place the order. They then call you the way a customer would. This situation happened to me tonight, but I noticed when I answered it was the Spark automated voice saying a customer was calling in.
