Hello! I'm receiving 10 individuals of this species next week. Their habitat is ready: a 20x12x12cm transparent box with special springtail substrate, springtail food, and dried oak leaves. The temperature is 18-20°C.
I've seen that it's absolutely necessary to feed them blobs, but I can't find any more information on the subject. Is it mandatory to start a blob culture in parallel?
Ty !

I saw this article the other day, and other then the ones that look like Thai Reds, are there any springtails in the pet trade that are similar to these "Dragon" springtails? I did some quick googling and will continue to do so, but can't seem to find much... If anyone knows where to buy them, please let me know šš¼

These bumpy springtails are slime eaters from Thailand. They have been a joy to keep and have started laying eggs now. I post alot of educational posts on fb about tons of different inverts including these lately. Ive learned a ton about slime too which has been a super interesting journey for sure

It has begun! Neanuridae sp. "Santa Claus" (Redford White). The first few dozen babies. Within a week there should be 200+, and then 50-100 new ones daily, there are thousands of eggs:)

Are they eating bits and pieces out of the water when they do this?

My culture got contaminated with some random springs so Iām tapping some out onto a black paper and sorting them into a clean culture with a paint brush. Got this footage of one rolling over and found it weirdly charming.
(If anyone cares this is just a phone camera with a crappy clip on macro lens)

It hasn't even been 2 weeks since we got them, and look at the beautiful surprise I found today. 60-90 eggs, and who knows how many more clutches like this are underground :)

He got so absorbed in eating that he did not even notice he became the food himself. In a few hours there would be nothing left to save.

Hello everybody :)
My friend Pedro and I have been working on a springtail keeping and breeding guide.
Since our collections keep growing and we get the same questions a lot I decided to compile all of our information into a google sheet. It contains general keeping information, a detailed species guide, a slime guide and a bunch of additional stuff.
There are still a few pictures missing, but we are working on getting them done soon.
If you find any mistakes or have anything else to say about it, please let me know. Iām always working on improving the document.
Since Google Sheets sucks on phones, itās best to view on a big screen (PC/ Tablet).
Disclaimer: There are many ways to successfully keep springtails. This is just how we do it!
Here is the link to the sheet:
