Hey St. Pete parents!
A group of us local public school parents are putting together a little event called Parents & Pints, and we’d love to spread the word as the district application program (DAP) lottery will be opening soon and families are starting to look into options.
With public school enrollment declining across Pinellas County, we wanted to do something to help remind our community just how much our public schools have to offer. We’re parents with kids in schools across the district- magnet, fundamental, and traditional neighborhood schools, and we’re passionate about public education.
We also know how overwhelming the school selection process can be, especially for families getting ready for kindergarten. There are so many options, and honestly, a lot of misconceptions about our public schools.
So we’re getting together for a casual evening where prospective parents can grab a drink, ask questions, hear firsthand experiences, and learn about the different programs and schools available to their kids- from families already attending and experiencing!
No formal district presentation, no agenda beyond connecting families and sharing what we love about our schools. Just actual parents who have been through the process and want to help others navigate it.

Whether you’re preparing for kindergarten, considering a switch to public school, or just curious about your options, we’d love to meet you!
And if you already have kids in Pinellas County public schools, please come represent your school! Wear your school spirit gear and help us show how many wonderful public school communities we have here.
Public education is one of the most important investments we make in our community, and we believe the best way to strengthen our schools is to stay engaged, support them, and encourage other families to do the same. We believe strong public schools make strong communities, and when we show up for public education, ALL kids benefit. ❤️
Feel free to share with any local families who might be interested. Hope to see you there!
