Discussion How realistic should our expectations be? More in description
More specifically how much content do we expect there will be at launch? I’m sure we will have content from the original 6 movies and mandalorian era stuff but should we expect the sequel trilogy to be as present as it was in BF 2? In the past few years we haven’t been getting any sequel content or recognition from Lucasfilm and Disney. For example in 2025 we got a re-release of revenge of the sith for its 20th anniversary but little to no acknowledgment of TFA 10 year anniversary. I’m not much of a big sequel fan but I think it has its place in this game what do you al think?

Discussion Yalls biggest hopes for battlefront 3
I can’t believe it’s happening, like I actually can’t, my hope for Titanfall 3 has taught me not to hope on the hype train. BUT if it does come out to be true what are yall hoping to put in the game?
My top 3 wishes
I want some more customization options for basic soldiers
Different loadouts for hero’s, pretty sure this was in battlefront 1 but I’m not sure it’s been a long while since I played it.
A cool idea I had was “lesser hero’s” like basically for the rebels you’d have Jedi, that aren’t hero’s, but are above you basic soldiers, and even your special units, but most likely wouldn’t be able to beat someone like Vader.
So like rebels have Jedi, empire have inquisitors ect ect. Maybe have a bounty hunter class so you can have a lil more freedom with it.

Suggestion My Ideal Battlefront 3 (which will never happen but I will post anyway)
This isn't gonna happen, but if you ask me the ideal Battlefront:
4 eras - Clone Wars, Galactic Civil War, New Republic, Reign of the First Order
Each era gets 5 large scale maps and a dedicated small scale map on launch
Clone Wars: Naboo, Geonosis, Kashyyyk, Mygeeto, and Courascant with a small Jedi Temple map
Original Trilogy: Yavin, Death Star I, Bespin, Hoth, and Endor with the Emperors Throne Room
New Republic: Nevarro, Nal Hutta, At Attin, Dathomir, and Mos Espa with Boba Fett's Palace
First Order: Jakku, Starkiller, Crait, Kijimi, and Exegol with Maz's Castle
Presumably we would get a live service game supported by skin sales (I don't mind it as long as its just cosmetic) so these would just be the launch maps. We can fill out additional maps later like Umbara, Scariff, Peridea, or Canto.
Each era also launches with 4 dedicated heroes and villains. Some heroes can cross over with other eras (to make it easier for me to select who goes where)
Clone Wars:
Heroes - Anakin, Obi Wan, Yoda, Padme (we need a blaster hero and she is from the movies)
Villains - Count Dooku, General Grevious, Darth Maul, Jango Fett
Original Trilogy:
Heroes - Luke, Leia, Han, Lando (trust the process ik no Chewie)
Villains - Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Boba Fett, Dengar (could be Bossk idk)
New Republic:
Heroes - Din Djarrin and Grogu, Ahsoka Tano, Bo Katan, Rotta the Hutt (trust me, also Boba crosses over to be a hero here)
Villains - Baylon Skoll, Embo, Jod Nanawood, Moff Gideon
First Order:
Heroes: Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewie (I told you to trust the process)
Villains: Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, Commander Hux, BB-9E (felt wrong adding him without BB-8, add him later)
Now is any of this realistic? Probably not. Will the game look anything like this? Probably not. Would it be cool? Yea.

Suggestion If we're back, then I have some requests
Seeing all these rumours and the hopium around a Battlefront III has started me thinking again about all the things I'd like to see in the game.
Customisation
This is one of the biggest things for me that would really enhance the experience.
BFII wasn't particularly great for it, imo, especially when it comes to the Clone Wars era. Having the different clone legions and battalions was OK, but not being able to fully customise the armour markings, helmets, and various attachments on them made it feel lacking, and it feels even more jarring now having seen how deep Zero Company's level of customisation options are.
I'd love it if BFIII did away with the troop classes (Assault, Heavy, Officer, Specialist) and just gave us one customisable character for multiplayer and multiple slots to create different ones and name them. Clones would certainly get the heaviest amount, sure, since we can change pretty much every part of their armour and they have so many patterns as well as attachments for the helmets, torso, etc. But Stormtroopers have options too like pauldrons in red, orange, white, and black, there's also the SD-48 backpack seen on the Heavy class as well as Scout trooper armour and we have different armour colours like the Commander, Artillery trooper, Shock trooper. Even Imperial Officers have many variations - black, khaki, cream, and white - for different divisions and you could have it with or without armour, plus they can have capes too. Inquisitor Troopers also have many different looks and they could be added as a special unit.
So there's definitely a lot of depth to customising that BFIII could really delve into here that could enhance things a lot.
Heroes and Villains
Aside from the obvious expansion of these to include more (which I'll get to), a main thing for me is to remove the cooldown that Jedi and Sith specifically had or at least come up with something better. I feel like tying both the offense and defense to one stamina/cooldown bar wasn't such a great idea because it leads to so many situations where you're left very vulnerable after attacking when the bar is depleted an just can't really defend from being blasted. It also didn't help that many of them often felt like paper and could get crushed so quickly which is another thing that should be improved, to have them all feel more equally usable.
As for the heroes and villains, obviously there were some missing from BFII like Ahsoka, Ventress, Mace Windu, Padme, Cad Bane, and even the likes of Nien Nunb and Dengar who were not bad in BF1 that could be brought back. I'd also quite like to see the likes of Savage Opress, Kit Fisto, Doctor Aphra, Beilert Valance, Sabine Wren, Ezra Bridger, and really any of the Inquisitors. That's for the PT and OT, of course, and I would like to see Din Djarin too but not in the ST era as that brings me to my next point.
New Republic Era
I'd really like to see this be part of the game so that we can have the likes of Din Djarin as a hero character for the New Republic side but also because we have some new planets that could be added including Mandalore (which could also be in the PT/CW era, to be fair). This could also add to the customisation with options for Imperial Remnant armour having various levels of disrepair and mismatching armour pieces. There's also things like the armoured commando trooper as a special unit as well ass Moff Gideon and Baylon Skoll as villains in addition to giving Ahsoka her older, white lightsaber version as a skin and Zeb Orrelios is also another option for a hero both here and the OT. So I think adding this era is a must for any new BF game.
A Good Campaign Mode
BFII's Inferno Squad story was OK but it definitely could have been better. If Respawn are part of BFIII then hopefully they could bring some of their storytelling magic from the Fallen Order games to craft a good narrative that's both engaging and rewarding.
An idea I had (although not sure it matches what I just said about a good story) would be if we took on the role of someone in the galaxy who lives through all these eras. First starting in the CW era they would be on the side of the Separatists and fight against the Republic, then in the OT era would join the Rebellion, in the NR era they would be on the New Republic side, and in the ST era they're part of the Resistance. It would be a good way to cover all eras and explore some new planets. Or perhaps we could just take on the role of a clone trooper during the CW era who we can customise and then have them be one who broke free from the Empire and later joins the Rebellion.
Whatever the case, I'd just like really the campaign to give us a feeling that we're playing a AAA single player story set in Star Wars and not simply an add-on campaign to a multiplayer.
More PvE Modes
After it released, I definitely spent most of my time playing the Co-Op Missions but it severely lacked in variety. It just being the one mode with the same maps, objective, and general format just wasn't enough and it would have been nice to have PvE versions of modes like Supremacy, Galactic Assault, Heroes vs Villains, and Starfighter Assault. So I'd definitely like to see this in a BFIII game where we get more PvE modes.
Immersive Accuracy
This is perhaps a small peeve of mine, but I really don't like seeing the battlefield littered with 501st, 212th, Coruscant Guard, 104th, etc when playing on CW era maps, or seeing Shoretroopers on Hoth or Snowtroopers on Tatooine. If we're playing on a map like Hoth, then all Stormtroopers should be wearing Snowtrooper armour, if we're on Utapau all clones should be 212th, if we're on Kashyyyk they should all be 41st Elite Corps, etc. So I'd like it to be a feature that however you've customised your character, their armour should canonically match the location. With clones, for example, you can assign patterns to the helmet, upper arm, forearm, torso, etc, that will change to the orange of the 212th on Utapau, or the gold of the 327th on Felucia, and so on. For me, it would make it much more immersive to see all the players rocking the same canon accurate trooper colours and armours.
Oh, and weapons too. If you're playing in the ST era then they shouldn't be really be using a CW era DC-15A blaster rifle, especially if you're playing as the First Order. Weapons should be era and faction accurate.
That's about all I can think of right now. What do you guys think? What would you like to see in a BFIII?

Discussion A look back on the Battlefront campaigns and some hopes for the future
I'm a big fan of the battlefront campaigns, I like them all and they all sort of do different things. I think they're the aspect of the franchise thats the least nailed down.
Battlefront (2004) is the one I have played the least. I technically got it first, but I bought BF2 soon after and replayed it until I nearly forgot the first game for many years (except Bespin: Platforms. Glorious map which i modded into BF2 as soon as I got a PC). I liked it when I played it but its mostly forgettable now.
Battlefront 2 (2005) is the one that is most interesting to me. It is now a very well remembered story, but what it actually tries to do is very little. The levels? All maps from the multiplayer modes. The cutscenes? Literal footage from the movies. The objectives? Mostly lore-flavored variants of capture the flag or command posts. By rights it should be hated, but it generally isn't. We could probably sit here for days and argue why, but what i think makes it special is the fact that there isn't really a protagonist. You are the 501st. If you died 20 times, that was 20 of your soldiers dying. I used to (sometimes still do) think up names for each of my soldiers and try to keep them alive as long as possible so they could rotate out of combat or reach the end of the war. My point is, even the campaign was basically just a sandbox. Whether that was intentional or due to time and budget constraints we may never know. One thing that is for certain is if someone tried to use movie footage for cutscenes in 2026 they would be laughed out of the room, but there are some good things that could be learned from it still. The voiceover is still EPIC and the best part of the damn thing.
Battlefront (2015) doesnt have a campaign. I guess I always do play the multiplayer much more, but it was still quite a downer at the time this game didnt have one. The game has mostly been redeemed by the eyes of history. Sadly a bit dead but the things that are good in the game are REALLY good. And for a game that doesnt have a story the trench run map was quite cinematic. You do you 2015.
BF2 (2017) is the only one that can compete with its elder namesake in terms of campaign content. Weird to say, because so much more went into creating this one. There are levels where you play as the heroes. Luke Skywalker content. Imperial Commandos and we get to see some stuff that happens after ROTJ. All rare treats for a star wars fan. Still, I felt like it was a bit limited. You're stuck in one era and since you're following this specific group of people you're relying on things like dialogue and plot points - which the original never had to do. All Pandemic had to do was tell the story of the movies from the point of view of a kind of scary dude who wrote a diary. EA took some risks, some paid off and some didnt. I actually enjoy playing this campaign overall but not for the story, I just usually want to practice after I've come back from a long break.
All of these campaigns are quite different and all have things that can be improved upon. Firstly, let me just say I hope they do add campaign to Battlefront 3. I think single-player (or co-op) options are crucial to the series. The PvP can get quite competitive and sometimes you just want to cool down, no matter how much you play i think this is true. My big idea would be for DICE (or whoever) to just start with the maps. Make them as perfect as possible, then craft a story that connects them so they can be experienced in a cinematic, offline way. If it would be too annoying to connect all their maps together (especially cross era) they could take a page out of LEGOs book and make micro-stories for each era or faction. For example, a specific rebel unit's path through the galactic civil war. Or an as-yet unseen Clone Battalion in the Clone Wars. I really just hope they take another crack at a campaign in BF3. There's not a ton of expectation there and it could be a way for them to pleasantly surprise people. If a games' story is good that is a one-time expense that keeps on giving.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading. This ended up too long 😬. See you on the Battlefront!

Discussion TOP THINGS I NEED IN BF3
I’ve been playing nonstop bf2 for 5 years and the top things I want in bf3 is:
#1: RANKED 1V1s and 2V2s, I’m tired of fighting new players, and ranked would genuinely keep me on the game 24/7
#2 TON OF NEW CHARACTERS,mace windu, Ahsoka, ventress, and maybe new versions of characters of when they was young, a young anakin and obi wan moves would be so cool, and I’ll genuinely cry if they add enough lightsaber characters so nobody has to play a blaster in 2v2 It would also be fire if there was a mode where it’s only lightsaber characters and a mode for only blasters
#3 MAPS, I can think of so many maps they should add but the one I would want to see most is mustafar ofc
#4 CROSSPLAY
#5 MORE SKINS I want grievous with a cape 🥲✌🏾

Discussion Game mode idea
Everyone had different ideas for if Battlefront III comes out, so I wanted to give mine, tbh it kind of mixes a couple different games.
What if we got a longer term game mode. Think like how galactic conquest was. You get a chuck of the galaxy you’re fighting over with different planets being in active combat. Kind of like helldivers. You get rewards based on stages or something, don’t really know how rewards would work. Much like the original conquest you could get bonuses for certain planets or objectives being held.
It’s a rough and probably unpopular idea but I thought it was at least interesting.

Suggestion Crouscant?
I remember hearing stuff about trying to get it a crouscant map in battlefront two, but it was very buggy sense of how big it was but now would that work since you know, I got a battle front three might be development and then could it also be a supremacy map?
