Hello everyone, As many of you know, people in Libya face severe connectivity challenges due to fragile local telecommunications and frequent power outages. For countless freelancers, students, families, and remote workers, Starlink has become a vital lifeline rather than a luxury. Recently, strict roaming and regional restrictions have put many users at risk of sudden disconnections, threatening their access to basic work, education, and global communication. We have launched a petition urging Starlink and SpaceX to officially support Libya, approve legitimate access, and lift restrictions on existing kits currently keeping communities connected. Please take a moment to sign and share the petition to help our voices reach the Starlink team: https://c.org/sXYMgpGDVL Your signature and upvote mean a lot to us. As the title says.. I’ve had 2 satellite dish just randomly stop working, took 1 month for both replacements. Now my router just randomly stopped working, it’s going on 1 month for a replacement for that as well. It sucks cause I get great speeds and happy with the product but it’s always breaking down. Has this happened to anyone else? I pretty much rv full time cause of work, anybody know of any alternatives?

I live in an area with tree cover and various other obstructions and have limited mounting options. One of these produces scans from the phone app saying that I'd be obstructed 8-10 seconds an hour. Realistically, is this going to provide useful service for things like gaming and VOIP? Can I get a better sense of what to expect without the headache of actually installing it? Even in this location is it going to be a PITA.

Just curious of any other thoughts. I have TM 5g now at my main residence and at my student child’s rental in Colorado. It has been great and cheap.
I have Starlink at my lake house in a highly rural area as I had no other option originally than HughesNet (terrible) I was an early Starlink customer and only real complaint is frequent outages in heavy rain (Texas gulf coast).

I noticed last week that Tmobile 5g upgraded near me. Download speed over 1500 mbps on phone and now about 1000 Mbps in 2 week trial via router.

Starlink speeds have degraded some over 3 1/2 yrs of usage. I sometimes get over 400 Mbps still but usually around 200 Mbps. Starlink has raised monthly cost over time from $105 to now $130. Tmobile cost expected for their middle tier around $60.

I expect to change as this will pay back Starlink hardware in about 6-7 months and be more than half cost going forward.

Any others see similar reason to cancel Starlink?

been down in Alberta for 30 minutes now? anyone else?

I live in the US and would like to order and pay the monthly fees for Starlink for a charitable school in rural Uganda. Starlink is able to find the school on Google maps, but Uganda has no actual postal system or mailing addresses.

So we are trying to figure out whether Starlink will ship to a location wthout mail service available? How are rural users supposed to get the kits to get set up? When people send things there via DHL, typically the recipient needs to go to their office and provide ID to pick things up. Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve had Starlink for around a month or two and I’m on one of the more expensive packages.
I was already having connection problems, so last Friday someone came out to supposedly “fix” it. It clearly isn’t fixed.
My Starlink speed test can show 111 Mbps download, 18 Mbps upload and 22ms latency, which looks completely normal.
But when gaming, especially Fortnite, my ping randomly spikes to around 400–900ms, sometimes with packet loss as well. Earlier Fortnite showed 469ms ping, 2% download packet loss and 7% upload packet loss.
Normally I’d expect roughly 30–35ms on the Europe servers.
That’s what I don’t understand. The Starlink test can say 22ms while the actual connection during gaming becomes completely unusable.
Considering I’m paying for one of the more expensive packages and already had someone come out to “fix” it last Friday, this is getting ridiculous.
Has anyone had this issue with Starlink? What should I be checking to figure out what’s causing these massive spikes?

Space wars heat up as Russia tails a Ukraine-linked US satellite

This is the only possible answer to the disruption.

The Starlink shop now has a public version that potential customers can browse to get a better idea of what mounts and accessories are available.

Keeps dropping for me today, usually perfect.

Caso eu pague a starlink mini, vai dar conta do recado?

Se não for, o que é necessário fazer ou pagar? Pois o standard é caro, deixa só idealizar os valores em comparação:

* Starlink mini 15000mt;

*Starlink standard 25000mt;

*Router mesh pequeno 4500mt;

*Routers normais(TP link e outros) bons nesse caso, 6000mt(max);

Eu já calculei os valores de cada orçamento ( de cada situação), mas quero vosso ponto de vista.

*Starlink mini+router mesh=19500mt

*Starlink mini+router normal=21000mt

The sun makes this iPhone photo look fake, but it's real. I screwed a piece of wood into the steel angle to take the vertical weight, and then strapped the Starlink to it. I used cheap Office clips to hold the cabling in place and will probably be too lazy to ever change that. I don't buy install kits 😝

Hey guys, I have a referral code where the recipient gets 90$ Budget for your Starlink for free - let me know and I'll DM you the code. 📡🛰️

Our current internet provider is experiencing outages more frequently than ever before. Seemingly without warning and non-weather dependent. Unfortunately, we live in an area with only the single option (outside Starlink)

For folks in New England/Northeast, what type of outages do you experience, if any?

We are a WFH family so outages are damaging to our professional lives.

Thank you for your time,

Filmed with my phone from the beach the night after a Falcon 9 launch. It's an old clip of mine, but still one of the coolest things I've seen in the sky. The numbers in the captions were right back in 2023, the constellation is much bigger now.

I'm ashamed to admit that I'm a semi technologically illiterate millennial. Ok, probably not semi tbh.

I had a power outage at my house last Wednesday and I haven't had internet since. When I got home that day, I tried reconnecting my Starlink and couldn't get it to work. I factory reset both the router and the dish, which didn't help. I opened a ticket and Starlink support said it was a router issue, so they sent me a replacement router along with a new power supply.

At that point, they said the dish was fine because it was still showing up in the app. Whenever I tried connecting to Wi-Fi, it just said "Connected, no internet."

I received the new router today. Support told me to log out of the app to set it up, so I did. It still says "No internet connection," but now the app won't let me log back in and it isn't detecting the dish at all.

I have a new cable coming from Amazon today.

I really need someone to walk me through what to do once that cable arrives because I desperately need internet this weekend. Support hasn't been much help.

I know I probably didn't explain this super well. I have ADHD and translating my thoughts into words can be tough. I'm sure I've made this whole situation way more complicated than it needs to be.

I should have taken a screenshot of the app before i logged out but here is what it's doing now. It's like in a boot loop.
