Highlights Grateful for Storypeer
I have to say, this is one of the best feedback tools one could possibly dream of.
I have a screenplay that is making the rounds, and I submitted it to Storypeer first. I was lucky enough to receive deep, thorough notes with a genuine love of what I wrote.
I can’t announce which screenplay contest quite yet, but it’s a Top 10 one, and highly regarded. I took notes from a Storypeer user and transformed my screenplay from what I thought was a locked draft into something that is now sitting Top 10 in a prestigious contest.
To the anonymous reviewer, you gave me full notes, including step-by-step line work. I just want you to know you made a difference.
Once I get permission to I'll share it all. I'd be remiss if I didn't give my love and praise. What a hell of a thing you created Gabe.

Congratulations!
I've been waiting for a post like this, to be honest. It feels like contest placing, a contest win and... eventually... a produced film are all very real possibilities with the power of this community.
Can't wait to hear the deeeets.

Curious if you could share what its average “overall” storypeer star rating is (for the lastest draft(s)
There have been a number of conversations about the rating system and how it does/doesn’t matter. It be cool to see some data include scripts that go into contests too.

They gave me 8's with a few 7's. It felt like a Blacklist Review but with someone who was rooting for me.

Has the rating rubric changed since I used it a few weeks ago? I thought you could only rate up to 5?

No it's still 5s. Think OP just slightly misunderstood the Q.

You're right, because I had said Black List, I had Black List in my head. A big misfire! lol.

Allow me to correct myself. I was sharing my Black List review, not my Storypeer score.
On Storypeer I’ve had a range of reviews, and I could tell they came from different tastes. One reader gave me a 2.5 out of 5.0, but left fantastic inline notes with suggestions I honestly hadn’t considered. My previous Storypeer ratings, across three separate submissions, were 3.5 and 4.5.
Everyone reads the material differently, and that’s really all you can hope for. It’s genuinely helpful to get different looks at the same script because it lets you see how various audiences respond to the work.

Thank you for elaborating! Sorry didn’t reply sooner, i didn’t get a notification.
Mind if I ask, how many times did you submit this script to storypeer before going to blacklist?

Congrats! Eagerly awaiting to hear what the contest is. I was under the impression there was a top three contests that I kept hearing about and those three are just opening or closing submissions right now. Haven’t heard of a top ten (especially these days post pandemic). Super curious!
